The Western City lord's short temper.
The young lord was losing blood at an alarming rate by now. He lay in his own blood as the whole area was now filled with a stench of blood.
Boris was bleeding as well and laid down on the ground. It was still difficult for him to simply put the pieces of this puzzle together.
He was the only mage in this sager but out of god knows where spells were coming to block his attacks.
Although he felt like crying, this was utter humiliation that he could never bear in life but what could he do anyway? His opponent was far discrete and it was clear the guy was toned far from his reach. So how could he think of revenge now when he could not even tell who the culprit was?
snapping back to the current world, he almost wailed a basin of tears but his tear glands were completely dry to hid his command. The guy tried to squire his eyes but the gruesome scene was still before him.
Young lord, he cried out. The little guy was his sole savior within the Dagger clan. Being a 5 rank noble clan, its feet were not to be messed with but what had happened?
It all happened very fast that I could not react to it. This was my negligence and incompetence that has led you to this young lord. You need to wake up so that we can reach your father immediately.
With a loud bellow, he let the old men carry the young lord on a stretcher and headed to the Dagger monar. Boris had now forgotten about his health but his only thought now was to save the young lord Brisbane from this path of death.
As the Dagger monar was not a far distance away, the group took only fifteen minutes to reach the Dagger monar. Although they had aided in bringing him home, none of the old men dared to enter the monar as they needed to keep their bodies intact.
Who would dare go inside to explain such an issue to the city lord? Everyone was well informed of who the city lord was. He was a man that represented his own name that meant short for anger and power. Holding both sides of his name, it would be like scooping fire with your hands and putting it in your mouth thinking your saliva is enough to put it off.
With them at the gate, it was by now that his confidence arrived to meet them. Since they were all beaten and lost their consciousness, thanks to this that they were saved. If it were them that were hurt by the spirit wolf, the issue would be taken lightly but this was a Dagger and the worst part was that the guy was the only male child that the two brothers held.
Although the Dagger clan held more competent youths, or say with a few better than him, he was the only person that carried their noble blood. He was the rightful owner of the city lord's seat but what the heck had to befall their only treasure to keep the reign further? If this was to continue, they would lose the city lord's seat in a few breaths and that was their most worry.
Bris looked at Brisbane Dagger with his eyes wide open. His belly was torn open and his organs were revealed. Although he had a set of armor to protect him from all kinds of harm, he was still less knowledgeable when it came to using them. His reaction speed was so slow that all his defenses were rendered useless.
The crew carried the stretcher into the monar in no time. Although the old men could not stand the city lord's anger, the six could at least let him calm down a little bit as their statuses were of a significance within the city. They were the young masters of their respective families after all and taking them down would leave the city lord in a bad state.
It was natural for the nobles to hold grudges against each other but killing one another would always call for the king's officials to intervene. And for this, killing nobles was the work of the king only as he was the law himself.
Though this law protected the nobles and rich men, the poor folks were abandoned and had no way to hold a say within the kingdom. Although they were the largest in number, what would number make before real power?
And for this, even when they were killed or say tortured, they had to only lay silent and even appreciate the mercy that the nobles held for them. Was that mercy really?
Although many common folks were now used to this, the young generation was quite different in thoughts as a few of them opposed such a rule. And when this got to the king's ears, the group was called for to the palace and later murdered.
For this, not one had ever dared to raise a voice among the common folks. It was clear that fear was now rooted in their hearts and many dared not cross paths with the said nobles.
Since a say was never to them, they only held one path to stand proud and that was to hold their children cultivate the path of magic. Although it was expensive to hold, it was true that one plus one could always make a bundle.
Saving much in life, many were able to make a foot in letting their children attain the path of cultivating magic as the awakening fee was attainable by then. However, it is rumored that the king gave out his decree to double the first magic element awakening fee making it a gold coin one that could feed a family of five common folks for seven full months.
Although they tried to say out their frustration, they found it had to reach the people concerned, and with the previous murder of their own, who would dare mention such out of their mouths? As they still held in mind how beautiful life is.
As the group got into the gates, the guards exclaimed the moment they witnessed what state the young master was in. Being reasonable, a few rushed to get the family doctor hurry to aid the young man. It was really lucky that he was still alive although fainted, thanks to the magical artifact that had provided a layer of protection to him in the first place.
Taking him to his courtyard, the place was wonderfully decorated with fine scented flowers that could calm one's mind the moment he took a breath of it. His courtyard was huge and spacious. If it were to be used by the common folks, at least the place would be fit for fifty families at minimum to build their houses and be satisfied.
In no time, the doctor made his way to the room and started his work to stabilize the young lord in the least time possible. With the way he was shivering, it was clear that the man had also lost thought of himself. The young lord was at the brim of death and yet if he were to fail, he would be killed for this.
Just then, two aged men walked in, they were dressed in the finest silk around in the kingdom. The two were like two peas as if you were meeting them for the first time, it was common that you would fail to tell the difference between them and many had fallen to their tricks in case they wanted any. They were the two Dagger heads with one being the city lord and the other taking up the clan patriarch position.
The two were almost losing their serenity the moment their eyes landed on their most precious son. Although Brasvin Dagger was the current city lord, he was a burren man for life after the incident he suffered during their childhood days.
It was for this sole reason that the two held much hope in Brisbane Dagger the only son of Brisvan Dagger the current patriarch of the Dagger clan had birthed but what sin did they commit this time to leave their only hope in such a state.
Although the two were huge, with pot belly stomachs, the speed they had used to reach this place was very fast. They did not let the servant even complete the story but the only word that the young lord was hurt left them in hust.
Who did this to the young lord? The two asked in unison with anger boiling in their hearts. They wanted to get to the climax of this sort of barbaric nature in one go. The best solution here was to behead the culprit who was responsible for the young lord's state.
Not daring to meddle with the two men, Bris went on and narrated all the what's and why the matter was this not forgetting to salivate the matter a bit. Since Boris had given him the real account before fainting on the gate, the lad was well informed of all the incidents but what pained him the most was that they had not even known the names of the three, the only name he could mention was Allan of the Risvan clan.
In no time, the city lord called for his men to collect all the necessary information about the incident and the three other persons, he had to shed some blood so that the people around could knoww that playing with the Dagger clan was to receive...
