The camping site was littered in remnants of trampled branches, logs, and camping gear that scattered the area with clear gigantic footprints that ran through in the middle.
"What the fuck," Aria exclaimed loudly shocked by the aerial view of torn trees and unrealistic large footprints that would've been a huge discovery in her old world.
Those footprints looked like they were carved from a very large and powerful monster because they left deep footprints that caused Aria to jump around to get to the other side.
She glanced around and saw the remains of what was left of the campfire and its distinguished logs. The leaves scattered around the area as broken branches scattered the ground.
With some tents thrown all over the place. Aria could barely who was who but when she discovered she had found Brooke's tent.
The dirtied tent had suddenly gotten a marked dent in its exposed state.
Aria walked away in a broken whistle hum to deviate her non-guilty consciousness. The moon's light had shone opening on the open clearing made through the devastations.
She had finally spotted her fallen tent after getting much of her hands dirty.
There, she kicked the pile of branches off her tent and reached for her mic when she unexpectedly felt a familiar noise again.
Thump. Thump.
A sudden wave of panic filled inside her as she stuffed her mic onto her chain, and hurriedly ran away. The sound of her socks hitting the ground reberated softly along the furious beat of the large continuous stomping noises that echoed clearly through the forest.
Though, not as loud as the monster tide that happened not long before. There was one thing that flashed on her mind right now.
Shit here we go again.
Gatsby awakened from his nap after noticing the alarming conditions of his host because of the ruckus from the outside world of his system panel. He followed along behind the invisible 2D screen of the system panel that followed her as he curled in his comfy cat bed.
The system in itself was not able to provide direct help to the host's life, only to accompany them and help them navigate and answer questions.
Our dear Gatsby was really useless in this department.(;¬_¬)
'Gah! What is this bad luck!' Aria cried as she questioned if this was how all the protagonists felt when they stumbled into trouble at every corner. She didn't feel so good.
Clearly, building steady accumulation from the on-going stress of going through multiple roller coaster waves of emotions in one day, was not enough for her as she tripped. Sky diving straight into the mud, she tried to protect her face from the impact.
She had saved her face from most of the dirt and mud but the battle gear was unfortunately splattered with mud stains.
Her long and luscious black hair was now stuck to her face with a mud cakey texture.
She turned over her body to look over to witness a large crowd of monsters break out in front of her. The corners of her mouth opened wide from stimulation.
She quickly got her bearings together to dash forward once again not noticing a lone figure in the sky zooming as fast as the pace of the monsters.
She had turned her head too quickly.
…
The dirty figure on the trampled woods laid a small comparison from a footprint left behind the wild beasts of the Weyvn Forest. You can hear an audible curse as they realized that their feet got tangled in the deeper footprint. They tried to yank it only to realize that it only made it worse.
They turned their head to the air around it, staring intensely as if to beg for who knows what. Their eyes soon turned to indignation as suddenly they breathed in deeply in resignation.
…
Aria looked at a lesser tiered rank boar leading in the front with its three visible strips on its back. She stared and knew that though they were not as big and dangerous as the monster tide. And clearly not as powerful as the E-tier ranked monsters that had ruled the Weyvn Forest.
They were still too powerful for an auxiliary based super user.
She knew she had to do something.
The system was only able to offer her lock picking keys for 5 system points and sky cams worth two system points. What's the point of buying them?
She was too weak.
Cliche.
That was the word. This was exactly the same worries of a protagonist of a novel undermining the head-strong and hierarchical truth of strength living in a world where death was normal.
Compared to her old world's values and living in one of the first developed countries away from any direct yet unfortunate truth of society. Socializing, living an albeit normal life of waking up without the fear of dying at the very least. This was not her old world.
She took a deep breath and grabbed her mic from her now sullen dress. The memories filtered in like a movie going through the remembrance of what happened when she transmigrated into this foreign world and until now.
The visualization of her brief meeting with her mom, then the happy and thrilling encounter and adventure with her recent party members.
Though, Brooke's face popped up and she squirmed in vile hate and frustration. It didn't stop her from enjoying the interactions with Min Xiu and the others.
She turned to visualize Druin's face and she grew convinced that what was stopping her from living in this new world?
A monster hoard coming at her in minutes. Sure.
But she had a life saving favor she must honor and her family was still countering on her to live again.
She closed her eyes and brought the mic closer to her lips. Her mouth opened out a note, there she sang the new version of Lily's Embrace with its concentrated attribute of deterrence.
"There in the stars… we laid below the dark fallen from the sky and heaven's clouds."
The shot from the moon clearly grew within the small figure in the opening. An alarming aura grew as the notes grew and the note carried along the wind blowing onto the vast audience in front of her.
"They were birds that sang into the night… down to the trotted grounds, the night birds fluttered in and out humming along."
"Where the feather of her entrance was welcomed… Taking in all, bearing the spirit of fairness."
The leading Three Stripe Boar yelped in fright in the growing submission and feared the presence that had cowered its very essence almost like a higher bloodline had shown its presence.
The boar stopping in its track along with the rest of the other monsters that were too influenced by the deterrence aura dropped down in submission and their heads lowered.
The boar and a couple of others were afflicted in tormenting emotions.
In front of them a girl possessed an innate ability to make them submit their very bones to lower their heads and run away with tails behind their legs.
The monsters were running away from a fierce and devil natured demon that had caused havoc among its brethren. The boars reeled, deciding that it shall run horizontally in the middle of two directions of two demon-like presence.
It was far too late.
The loud laughing noises of a baritone voice echoed behind them. The monsters turned and were struck by the face of a devil.
Where girls could be fan-girling in admiration of his pristine yet wild look. All the monsters saw was a true monster that had devastated them and killed the Wolf and Boar King of the Weyvn Forest.
He had a pale exterior with a rugged appeal. His grayish hue hair was pulled back and the eyes showed a mirth of flirtation seeing a far figured that closely resembled a woman.
The shirtless man clad with a casual black hoodie held a large broadsword that was clearly twice as big as his physique. He swung it across the monsters. The blood flying, he danced along the night as cleaves of heads flowed across him.
He smiled wide, charming all those who saw him if they didn't realize why he was smiling so happily. The gruesome on-slaughter of the super user was quickly finished as the ambience of an angelic voice soon stopped.
The man sheathed his large broadsword on his back as he noticed that the woman up close was dirty and was caked with mud however he bolted straight towards her when she started to fall down. His eyebrows frowned when he saw the minute details of the crude and dirty figure.
Aria had spent all her energy on maximizing her superpower to the fullest because what good would any energy left be if she was stampeded by monsters?
She overexerted herself and inflicted internal damage from overusing her super power.
The nauseous yet dizzy effect immediately started and when she felt a warm current go through her throat with her legs going weak again. Her body was propelled up to the air and as she tried to open her eyes to see who helped her.
All she saw was a faint glimpse of a person's bare chest…
Ah— ahhh a bare chest?
Aria spurted blood from her mouth and fainted.
Then after a while a group of varying like costumes arrived into the scene. They hurriedly went up to the mysterious man who was carrying a smudged girl in his arms.
The man leading in front shocked yelled, "Young Master, you can't always run off like this."
The young master turned his head and rolled his eyes yawningly.
"Hmph, I can do whatever I want. Here," he gave the girl in his arms towards the butler-like dressed man in disgust.
"I need a shower," he looked down at his now mudded clothes.
"Of course, Young Master, look at your outfit. You'll be apprehended by Madam again," the butler shook his head in disapproval resigned in defeat the countless times the boy ignored him.
The butler continued, "What shall I do with this young girl?"
"Do whatever, I don't care."
"It looks like this girl is Aria Quan, the rising singer of Requin City. Having such high prospects but seemingly incurring a fatal internal blow because of the monster tide."
"Tsk," he glanced at the girl frowning in his face.
"She? Suppose— I guess, she is alright," he remembered the strong current of oppression that reverberated across the winds that carried her voice.
"Well, of course, Young Master. She will be your new classmate attending the Afaren Academy this year. Though, looking at the cause of her injury. It would be hard to hold onto the Qian's admission considering her troubling wounds if she doesn't get up in time," the butler wearing a golden and sleek monocle sighed.
"Qian admission? Huh isn't she a singer? Why would she need our family's scholarship?"
"Young Master, she isn't a part of one of the old singing families."
"Oh," his face deepened as he quickly pushed it aside.
"Well, then just help her get hospitalized and keep her admission if she wakes up in this life. As the young master of the Qian family, it'll be too shameful if a holder of our scholarships was revoked because of a monster tide."
He thought pitedly that overexhaustion over a person's limit was very dangerous that most cases ended up in a comatose state for years even to the last of their days especially if they didn't have rare treasures to help them out.
Only a handful of people can bear through such pain and survive.
Well it didn't concern him.
He looked at his butler annoyed, "Also stop calling me young master. I'm not two, just call me by my name, Qian Zhuang."
"Young Master, will do. I'll handle the girl's matter personally so no troubles will arise."
The butler handed the sleeping girl to one of the subordinates of the Qian family that came along with them and ordered him to hand Aria to the hospital as fast as he could.
Qian Zhuang getting a taste of his own medicine bore it down with no reaction on his face.
The butler had always valued the respect of serving the Qian family, labeling the family with pride and respect. He could not remember a time where Butler Lynn had crossed his boundaries of being the best butler of the Qian family could ever offer.
And like that, it was tit tat of him always not considering the others about his outfit.
He liked being shirtless so he continued to be stubborn in his belief to be wanton as the Qian family's second eldest. After all, he had the capital to do what he wanted to do.
His butler intervened and told him that the governess of the Requin City invited him and the superheroes sent by the super power association to a welcoming party that would be hosted for them.
Great, Qian Zhuang knew that Butler Lynn would force him to attend the party in etiquette. At least he knew he wouldn't be alone, he stretched his arm and dashed away leaving behind the group again.
A man who was left behind from the group arrived but before he could catch his breath, he noticed that Qian Zhuang had left them again.
He yelled out angrily, "You! Qian! Zhuang!"
Qian Zhuang, who had earlier on left, went to kill the other monsters already.
