Chapter 42 - Zeus's True Identity

"Sorry for the wait guys. So, what do we want for dinner?" I asked everybody.

While cooking dinner, I learned a little more about New Olympia. The Apostle and Disciple rank specifically.

Working for the almighty lord New Olympians called 'Zeus', granted the rank of Servant. After Servant, ranking up to Guard, then Disciple, then Apostle. Luckily, Soul knew a lot about these ranks, so I was able to grab a slight understanding of the system. I had to somehow apply to be Zeus's servant and rank up so he could teach me air magic... but I don't have time for that.

"You're absolutely certain that nobody else in New Olympia can teach me how to wield the air element?" I asked her again. Soul nodded her head. "Now for my next question... why? Why is he the only one that knows?" I asked again.

"So nobody else can become Zeus. Nobody else needs to know air elemental magic... except for your friends in Prism." Soul whispered to me.

"So, it's either Zeus or Joro... guess I'll have to be his servant for a while then," I said, passing out plates of meat to Ruby, Ipa, Ken, Janice, and Jane.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about you guys. Sorry, I left you there." I told the two. They shrugged it off and gave their tickets to Soul and Ken.

"We're going to head back to the village for a day or two, so you can explore New Olympia on your own. We'll probably head back in the morning." Janice told me. I was sad to see them go but glad to hear the rest of us could get in.

"Now that we're all together again, how should we go about this? Any thoughts?" I asked Soul.

"Well, we're going to have to just apply to be servants," Soul said. I shook my head. I hated the thought of that.

"Or, we could get his attention. I mean, think about it, if we catch his attention, he would take interest and want to teach me... right?" I asked. Soul pat me on the back and shook her head.

"That's wishful thinking. Let's just do it the simple way." Soul said. I paused for a moment.

"Potions! My whole strong suit! I can give him impressive potions in exchange for learning about the air element!" I exclaimed. I actually got Soul to be convinced that I had a great idea.

"Not bad. So, we'll do that... well you will, so what will we do?" Soul asked me.

"Not sure, you guys can enjoy the festival... or find out more about the town for me? We'll need a house, so there's a lot we can do, but my main focus is to become as powerful as possible. I still need revenge." I told her. She nodded and turned to everybody else.

"I'm taking the lead from now on! That being said, I'm dishing out orders like no tomorrow! Anima will be gone for a bit, so that means we need to take care of ourselves. Ruby, I want you to find us a home, no matter the cost! Ipa, I want you to scout out the entirety of the city and get a map with details of each shop you can! Ken, I want you to gather ingredients for dinner! Am I clear?!" Soul said. I really wasn't ready for her to take command like that, considering she was so quiet when I first met her and usually quiet every other time.

"You go to impress Zeus anyway you can, Anima, we'll take care of whatever we can in the city. Use [Clairvoyance] to find me when you've done your job." Soul told me with a smile.

"I'm not leaving right now, I'll leave tomorrow morning with Jane and Janice. What will you do, Soul?" I asked her.

"Get money. I'll find a way, so just get us a place to stay." Soul explained.

"What kind of guy is this Zeus figure?" I asked everybody.

"Oh... hey, Granny, is he talking about Ono?" Janice asked.

"Ono? What does that mean?" I asked her. Apparently, that was his name...?

"I assume so. Ono is my grandson who was a prodigy with the air element, and we're pretty confident he's Zeus. Although, we have no way to prove it. We wanted to come here to see him, but the public has been cut off from him." She explained.

"You aren't just the public, you're his family, so what gives? Why won't they let you?" I asked Jane.

"Who knows? It's not worth fighting the rule of the city and getting Ono in trouble. I'm glad to hear he'll be the Patriarch of this city." Jane said. So, she knew about all of that too... Patriarch didn't seem like a problem, but Prism was my main concern for now.

I had the goal of finding the most powerful potion recipe in this city and recreating it at maximum quality to entice Zeus into letting me become his apprentice. Once I got close to him, I could bring up Janice and Jane and maybe even his real name. Otherwise, it was all just speculation for now.

"Thanks for the information, anything else you can tell me about this city?" Jane admitted that she was out of information and we all sat around a fire located right outside of New Olympia. The trees blowing in the wind and the leaves falling around us told me that we were somewhere near fall...

"Hey, when I was summoned here, I wasn't ever told the time. What time is it? What year? All that stuff." I asked everybody. Ruby cleared her throat and began.

"August Fourteenth, Two-Thousand Sixteen," Ruby said.

"E-Excuse me?" I said in shock. "August? Two-Thousand? How do you know those things?" I asked Ruby.

"What are you saying? It's the day, month, and year. You didn't even know them." Ruby told me.

"I didn't know them? Ruby... I was sent to this world in late July, and now it's August." I said to her.

"Woah, you even knew the previous month?" She asked again.

I paused... was time measured the same way here? No, that couldn't be. It had to be a weird coincidence. Wait, that couldn't be...

"The month of August wouldn't have that name without a crucial part of history from my world. Augustus named that month, so why do you have it...? Are their twelve months?" I asked again, even listing every single name of every month to see if they were both similar.

"Woah... we share the same months as well," Ruby commented. I then found out that everything was the same. Erinautis's rotation was synced with its Moon just as accurately as Earth was synced with its own Moon. There were 365 days, lunar and solar eclipses. The tides on Erinautis mattered because of the moon... which meant that I had a lot more information now.

This planet was a duplicate. An astronomically low probability of something like this happening. It could almost be considered impossible...
