Despite getting caught in traffic and arriving home quite late, Matthew wasn't home. Making Lilly panic a bit about what to do in the house alone. Pete was of no help because after saying goodnight, he retired to his sleeping quarters adjacent to the garage. Since Matthew's maid was a stay-out employee, she wasn't aware that there were employee quarters at his house. She seemed to have a lot to learn about Matthew, not only about his house but about the man himself.
Matthew had not told her if he would have dinner at his house once he arrived. Will she have to prepare dinner for him? Bring out his slippers or give him a shoulder massage? That's what she saw her mother doing for her father.
She shuddered at the thought of massaging Matthew's shoulder while asking him how his day was, so she retreated to her room and hid. She didn't want any more awkward interactions with her husband.
