"This is very much unlike her," Cindy said as she paced about the room.
Jake implored her to come and sit so they could think it through but she was adamant. Sitting down wasn't going to help. She needed to be on her feet, ready to go.
"Please, come here and sit."
"I have told you for the umpteenth time I don't want to sit but you keep asking me to do what I don't want to do. What is wrong with you?" she exploded.
It is in times of adversity that the amount of truth in professed love is tested. Oftentimes, the results are of a heart-shattering nature. But not in this case. He understood her frustration, even though it required all his resolve. He put himself in her shoes. Not so long ago, he had been her, perhaps a worse version.
