Drops of water from the early morning dew woke up the distressed damsel as she slowly began to lift her bruised face from the dirt it was half buried in. Her eyes hurt as she slowly opened them and as her other body parts ventured into motion, she felt sore and stiff muscles everywhere. For a brief instance, she gave up and just lay still taking short and effortless breaths to fill her lungs which were vastly feeling empty from whatever had been done to her.
She had long lost track of time with her mind proving numb beyond the inactivity of her muscles. The sun was still coming up. She looked around and saw she was in a forest of some sort. She tried to get up but the pain had other ideas. Gasping for breath as she tried to lift herself up, she fell again to the floor. Thankfully, third time's a charm, she pushed herself until she sat up.
