Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 The Library (Rewritten)

He slammed his hand on the stupid alarm that kept ringing and looked at the ceiling of his room. 'Damn I am exhausted. *Sigh* I really shouldn't have drunk that much. But then again what else could I do? Life is so dull and boring, that if I don't even do this much I might become the first person to die from boredom.'

As he really should get ready now, he was getting late so, he stopped talking to himself and got up. It's just so much fun talking to yourself you know.

He yawned and stretched as he walked towards the bathroom to shower and get ready. When the bathroom door opened Liam walked out with only a towel wrapped around his waist and went to his closet to take out his clothes.

He decided on a black button up with blue ripped jeans and his converse. He was in no mood to dress up. What was the point of it anyways?! No one was going to notice him or compliment him. Life was such a bitch... He complained about life while getting ready.

--------------

Finally!!! he was done. He can go home now or visit the library he saw a few days ago. Maybe there were some nice novels there. It would be amazing if there were some with fantasy genre.

He did his daily routine of talking to himself as he mulled about where he should go. Passerbys gave him looks but he was too tired to be insecure and care about what people thought.

Dong!!

He grabbed his head as he was forced to stop day dreaming by the road sign in front of him. 'Who the fuck puts a road sign on the side walk?' He grumbled and made a face at the kid laughing at him. 'Devil's spawn.'

As he reached the bus stop after many difficulties, he decided he might as well just go to the library instead of spending another day at home doing nothing. Books were amazing and after the accident he needed to check if all his brain cells were still there. Not that he had much in the first place.

"Can you move boy! You are blocking the path." A middle aged man said, he looked kinda annoyed by him zoning out in the middle of the side walk.

"Oh Sorry!!" He said as moved aside. He really should stop day dreaming.

....

He sat on the bus and looked out the window as it moved.

'If there was a life after this one, he would want to be born in a world that was not this boring.'

'He really should stop thinking like this or he might grow old earlier. It wasn't his fault though, from when he was a kid, he had thought life was just too repetitive. Complete your studies, get a job, get a girlfriend or boyfriend, get married, have kids (depends), grow old and die. It might not seem like that to other people but for him it was too boring.'

'The things that scared other people, were something he would love to see. Fighting was something he loved. That's why he did all that in highschool. The few comparatively happy years of his life, but after what happened he realized that what he wanted didn't align with this world. Doing what he wanted would just hurt the people around him. That's why he never got into relationship, he was just barely dragging himself through life, he couldn't add someone else to his joke of a life."

He leaned against the seat and closed his eyes. 'He wasn't sad, it was just getting harder and harder to keep dragging himself.'

The bus stopped and he got off after thanking the driver. He went towards the library he had just discovered a few days ago. Best thing about libraries like this was that there was barely anyone inside so he didn't have to look at human faces. As he walked inside the library still lamenting his life like an old man, he didn't notice how everything behind him blurred and voices faded. As the door closed behind him, the library slowly disappeared. Like it never existed.

--------------------

"Weird!! Why is this place so empty? It looks a little creepy! I mean I like it when libraries are empty but there should be someone in here." He mumbled as he walked inside. The library was filled with wooden shelves with thousands of books in it. The walls were green and brown and made the whole library look like a forest.

He was fine with the forest thingy but there was dust everywhere and the lights were nearly all off. There were some weird sounds giving a creepy look to the place.

"Maybe this creepy vibe is the reason why no one comes here. There should be a librarian here though, isn't the owner scared of the books getting stolen." He scratched his head as he thought and walked towards the bookshelf filled with novels of all genre. The books were placed kinda haphazardly making no sense.

"This place seems like it is haunted or something." He thought aloud, secretly excited at the thought.

"Hello!! Can I help you?" Someone asked behind him and he quickly turned around spooked. There was a girl behind him. Blonde hair and green eyes. She looked like a model. She was beautiful but there was something kinda off about her. She was too beautiful making her look artificial.

Or maybe it's because I haven't talked a girl in ages. How are women even supposed to look like?

"Hello!!" She said snapping him out of his weird thoughts. "Can you hear me??"

"I am sorry. Who are you??" Liam asked cursing his brain. He probably had that ADHD thing, his therapist was talking about.

"My name is Ava and I am the librarian. What are you doing?" She said with a smile on her face. He again had that creepy feeling, her smile looked kinda out of place.

"I was just here to read some books." He answered although it should be quite obvious. I mean what else would someone do in a library, arrange a party?.

"Okay. Call me if you need anything. I will be on the desk there." She said still smiling pointing to the desk behind her.

"Sure." He replied nervously. It was not his fault okay, it's just been a while since he has had a normal conversation with a human being.

Busy talking to himself, he missed the look Ava gave him and how the books in the shelf suddenly flashed.

Everything turned to normal as he looked up. She walked to the desk, sat down on the chair and started reading a book.

Liam shrugged and went to find a book to read. He picked a novel, it was a story about a mythical world where creature like dragons and werewolves lived. Not what you will expect a 26 year old adult to like reading but hey his heart was still young and everyone likes what they like.

----------------

"What the hell??"

He mumbled as he read the last page again in case he missed something or maybe he was really turning into an idiot. No he was right the book was finished and Yes the world was destroyed.

He sighed again. What was the Author thinking? Did he suddenly decide he hated the book and killed everyone? What about the Male Lead and others? It doesn't make sense, what was all the struggle for if they were just gonna die?

Maybe there was a second part and he should get up and look for it but he liked being dramatic and was not going to get up to look for anything. Until he had complained enough. Forget it maybe he should just go home. He was so hungry he could eat a shark.

As he once again day dreamed and started feeling sorry for himself, Demyx watched him speechlessly. He had been waiting for the man to notice him for about like an hour now.

The library had long disappeared only the table and chair he was sitting on was left. The surroundings had changed into a big white room. How he had not noticed this happening was a bigger mystery than what had actually happened.

The violet-colored sphere finally ran out of patience and made a coughing sound. He had seen a lot of humans do this!

Liam jumped and looked around finally noticing what had happened. The prospect of there being a human talking to him scared him out of his thoughts.

Thinking that he was scared, satisfied Demyx and it spoke in a mechanical voice;

"Welcome, host. I know you must be scared but there's nothing to worry about. I won't harm you as long as you fulfill what's asked of you..."

Liam looked with his eyes full of disbelief towards the weird glass ball, hovering in the air and ranting.

"Wait are you one of those systems? The ones in books."

The glass ball, yes he was going to call it that for the time being, looked at him (atleast that's what he felt, it didn't exactly have eyes) than patiently replied like, it was talking to a baby. (A/N You're talking to a mentally retarded adult)

"Yes, you may call me Demyx. "
