"I can't believe you. We both passed the spell in Toc's class. You should share it with me. When did you have this book?"
"Two weeks ago."
Annah gasped in shock. "I can't believe you. Were you been reading this for the last weeks?"
"Of course. What do you want me to do? Stare at it until it burns?" Ricco sarcastically said.
"What page are you on?" Annah clearly didn't hear the tone he used to her.
"432," he answered nevertheless.
"Must have been fun learning such knowledge yourself, Kwon?" Annah squinted her eyes in his direction.
"Yeah," he muttered, leaning over the chair and tilting it quite a little backward.
Annah stood up from the seat, closed the book, and brought it to her chest.
"What are you doing?"
"You gonna lend me this and I shall return the book...until I finish page 432. Then, we'll study it together. Do we have an accord?" Annah faced him.
"What's in it for me then, mixed blood?"
Annah had to think of ways to make this arrogant jerk bully to agree with her. "Well, what do you want then?"
Ricco set his eyes to hers in a moment before he stopped tilting the chair. "I'm hungry," he said.
"O...kay. So I'll buy you ten of blue packs in the food section." Annah readily stroke the offer.
"I want a fresh and warm one, Park," he said.
"Then I'll have it heated for you?" Annah attentively said, clutching the book firmly since he didn't look to agree to her offer.
"I want it now."
"Then I must go fetch it." Annah jumped to her feet and turned away from him.
"Not so fast, Park."
Annah groaned and turned in his direction again when he got her wrist in a tight grip.
"Kwon, I'm gonna go fetch the goods for the deal. Now, let me go." she said and yelped in surprise when he had her seated in the chair beside him.
"You've ignored me as if you can't see me for bloody two weeks. And now you're striking a deal?" Ricco drawled. "So? Your mixed-blood boyfriend forbids you to talk to me?"
"What are you talking about?" Annah furrowed, reminded how Jason had barely met her for the last weeks. "Jason's busy all the time."
Ricco then let go of her hand after that.
"Oh come on now, Kwon. Just let me have this. I'll read this until the page you last study." Annah was a little bit frustrated now.
Ricco then grabbed her wrist again and without waiting for her permission, he barred his fangs on her soft flesh in there.
Annah was frozen while her eyes widened at the unfolding scene before her. Ricco Kwon, a pureblood, regaled himself with her blood.
The silence in the library only made his gulping of her liquid audible to her ears. She could feel it, the sensation of having her blood pulled by the bidding of his mouth. It was tickling and at the same time, painful but it subsided as time went by.
When she regained her bearing, Annah dropped the book on the floor and had her hand to his face. She pushed his face off and retrieved her wounded wrist from his hold. She grimaced at two small orifices created by his fangs at her flesh where the blood still splurged out from there.
Annah then covered it with her other hand when the fluid was dropping down the floor.
"Are you mad, Kwon?" Annah snapped at him. "What, don't touch me you a bloodsucker." she swatted his hands away but he won her over and brought the wrist to his mouth again.
Annah placed her other hand to his face again but Ricco grabbed it and put it firmly down his lap while his other one still holding her wrist.
"Stay still." He spoke in the coldest voice that made Annah actually listen.
Instead of guzzling for more blood, Ricco let his tongue rub on the wound he created to her wrist that Annah had no defense over the rush of bloods to her face.
The blood stopped from flowing after some gentle poking of his tongue to her wound until he had to let her wrist go.
There was a silence that followed and both of them stay seated without exchanging words to each other.
Annah blinked down her gaze to her flesh when it throbbed. But there wasn't any trace of a wound in there anymore. Just a few stains of scarlet.
"Leave now, Annah..." Ricco had spoken in a rather growling tone, not looking in her direction.
Annah hastily stood up from her seat, intending to run away from there but he got her wrist once again. When she regarded his face, he looked rather different. His icy gray eyes spoke of something more hostile than a cold winter storm. There were rogue locks of silver blond that escape the neat array of his hair and fell over those eyes. His lips weren't near free of the contrasting color of her blood to his pale skin, making Ricco come off rather brutally horrifying to her eyes. As if he had slaughtered thousands of vampires.
With his eyes, Annah can't seem to do anything but followed his bidding. As if hypnotized against her will in that very instant. Two years, she'd been having a contest of insults against this man, and never once it occur to her that Ricco, an arrogant jerk, was capable to look like that. As if he knew no happiness at all.
At that very moment, she was reminded that this man was the king's son. A pureblood of dark origin and ancient appetite that couldn't be curbed with tens of dozens of blue packs from the food section.
Gulping in nervousness, Annah dared to open her mouth even though she was clearly shaking. "W-what now, Kwon? A-are you gonna suck me dry in here?"
Interestingly, that mere statement drew a small lift to the corner of his mouth.
"Don't forget to bring the book, Park," he said. "After all, you earn it through your blood."
Annah looked below and picked up the book from the floor when he let go of her wrist. As she stood up in a shaky frame she glared at his cold eyes.
"You're crazy, Kwon!" she bellowed before she ran for her life out from the library.
