Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

"So what did he put in the shake?" Maine asked one night in the dormitory.

"What?" Annah raised her head from reading the book to her friend.

"The chocolate shake. Isn't that why you followed the pureblood prince?"

"Oh don't speak of that blood-sucking beast." Annah grudgingly said and flipped another page of the book.

Maine's brows twitched and tilted her head to the side a little. "Bloodsucking..."A smile then followed her wondering expression. "Wait are you saying..that he suck...your blood?"

Annah stopped from flipping onto the next page with a frozen expression.

"Oh my gosh!" Maine jumped in glee as if she just won a lottery. "Did he really?! Did he?! Did he?!"

"Oh please stop reminding me of that." Annah's scowls couldn't be worse than that moment most especially that her friend seemed thrilled.

"Where did it happen?" Maine plopped herself to Annah's bed and grabbed her hand excitedly.

"Urgh! Maine!" Annah complained.

"Oh come on, Annahelia Park." Maine didn't back down. "You know you won't be sleeping tonight if you don't spill."

"I hate you so much." Annah glared passionately at her best friend

"I know. Now the spit details." Maine said. "Not a single thing to be skipped, understand? I would know."

Annah just shook her head put a bookmark to the book before setting it aside to the desk beside her bed.

"Alright, I don't know how it happen but it was sudden and I got no defense over it." Annah started.

"How does it feel? Do you know being feasted by a pureblood? And a prince if I might add." Maine giggled.

"Oh, one word. Horrible."

"Liar!" Maine laughed.

"I didn't!" Annah scowled at her friend. "I pushed his face off my wrist. That bloodsucker."

Maine gasped at that and covered her mouth. "You didn't."

"Oh believe me." Annah dismissed and began reaching the book again but Maine pulled her hands to hers again.

"Do you have any idea that you're the first mixed blood that Ricco Kwon ever tasted?" Maine asked.

"D'you think I find this amusing? I don't." Annah smiled pleasantly at her friend in obvious fake front.

"Oh gosh, Annahelia! If you only know that half of the female populace in the academy wish and dream to be feasted by Ricco himself. Not even purebloods have such privilege." Maine accentuated her every word.

"Gross." Annah shivered. "That disgusting pureblood is very lucky that I didn't hex him with manipulations I learned from Toc's class or he'll be finding his fangs down the gutter."

"I hope it's me." Maine mopped in jealousy.

"Well, a little tip then, go to the library when he's alone reading at the history section." Annah snatched her hands away from Maine's hold whose eyes brightened at her last words.

"Okay, I'll definitely spread the word to all women who like me hungered for some Ricco bites." Maine winked at her and disappeared excitedly to the door.

Shaking her head, Annah opened her book again and removed the bookmark from there. Now lying on her stomach, she continued her light reading and was amazed again at how ancient manipulations used by the inhabitants of Agartha have been using. There was one thing she'd been wishing for all her life. That is to step foot on such marvelous world of Agartha where a dark lord reigns.

Flipping onto page 56, Annah couldn't help but set her eyes on her healed wrist. It was amazing how powerful pureblood's venom was to heal the very wound created by the fangs. She had no idea if its magic or what, but surely it felt strange.

She can't help but recalled how Ricco lapped onto her flesh while his cold gray eyes that seemed spoke of hostility. Shivering once again after remembering how he looked at her in such frightening eyes, Annah wondered if that was the real Ricco Kwon? For he was far from being arrogant and a jerk at that time.

At that moment, his aristocracy came more define. It was funny to say it, but the blood on his lips only added to the grace of vampire royalty.

Annah still have her head buried to the book even she was walking towards the first class of the morning.

The students made way from her when she had no intention to look where she was going while she munched over her carrot.

"Ah-" Annah frowned when someone poked her forehead, making her reclined slightly backward. When she looked up, her chocolate colored eyes greeted the icy gray ones.

"Mixed blood's munching carrot, everybody." Ricco declared to his circle of friends who snickered with each other.

Annah roamed her eyes to the purebloods groupies of this silver blonde hair annoyer of hers. "Feeling good, Kwon?"

"Did I annoy you?"

"Yeah. Now my day is ruined thank you very much." Annah stepped aside and began walking again.

Smirking, Ricco followed her and snatched the carrot off her grip and threw it away behind.

Annah stopped walking and gaped at him in disbelief. "That was my breakfast, you dope!"

"Not anymore." Ricco snickered and walked ahead of her towards their class.

"Urgh! I hate you, Kwon!" Annah ran towards the classroom and shoved him away from entering the door.

Ricco was pissed when he got inside the classroom and found her laughing out loud after he almost kissed the floor on the shoving she did.

Annah's laughing face disappeared when he towered over her with the dark expression. "You threw my food." she reasoned out.

"And I'm taking the book, bottom feeder." He said and nabbed the book from her hold.

"Hey! Not fair!" Annah screamed loudly when he gone over his seat now. She was about to get it if not for the arrival of the professor in the classroom.

"Okay class. Open your books on page 76." the professor said.

Distraught, Annah opened her book in history and took out her notes. She then faced the professor who began to discuss about the battle of five dragons in the Rahu land during the gathering in mount demon.
