"Maeyette? It's nice to meet you too." I replied to my aunt. I wanted to sound happier, but she reminded me too much of my mother.
She must have realized this, because her next words were solemn in there sound.
"I was beyond in grief when Chilroy sent me word of what happened to my family." She sighed, "I was relieved to know that at least you survived."
"Maeyette, these three are the only surviving people from the Mourn-Shard estate. This is Lieutenant Bruhom and Lady Sehaela Veyren." Chilroy stated, gesturing towards the others with me.
"A pleasure to meet you as well." Maeyette smiled.
Bruhom elected to bow, and Sehaela curtsied.
"And this is my daughter, Zaatri." Chilroy gestured to the girl at his side who looked a lot like my grandmother and Chilroy.
"Nice to meet you, Zaatri." I stated politely.
She stepped forward and gave me the strongest look of sincerity that I've ever seen etched into someone's face.
"How true is your warning?" She asked me.
