Rose ended up sleeping for the entire day and only woke up when it was close to midnight.
'Where on earth..' She was about to complain about her surroundings when she realized that she was in Cora's house. It took her some few minutes for her sleepy to completely disappear as the day's events filled her mind, instigating yet another headache. She sighed as different thoughts bombarded her state of mind but right now was not the time to answer any of them.
She put on her shoes and the moment she opened the room, a rich smell of food hit her making her stomach immediately grumble. Rose held on to it with no shame as she rushed downstairs towards the kitchen.
Cora heard the sound of rushed footsteps and couldn't help but chuckle knowing she had cooked her sister's favourite meal hence the eagerness in her steps. 'You're up and looking like a wreck..' She said to the approaching Rose who looked like she had been run over by a train with her red puffy eyes, still swollen from all the crying, her hair sticking out from different corners. 'Yea and you'd better feed me before I decide to implicate you.' Despite the events earlier, the girls managed to joke around to lighten the mood as they had their meal.
During the meal, the girls still conversed and that is how Rose knew about the set engagement between Andrew and Abigael and her mother's call. She sneered as she read the statement released by Andrew. at the moment, her heart didn't contain no more pain, instead, for some reason it contained nothing but darkness and blankness. Cora carefully observed her reaction and was inwardly relieved that she didn't see a hurt expression but her heart beat sped when she saw the blank look on her face. 'She is back to her former self, God why?...' She couldn't help but shiver knowing the coming days won't be easy for anyone apart from grandpa and grandma Katz and herself because she knew that right now apart from them no one is going to experience her warm and joyful heart.
On hearing the content of her mother's call, her heart tightened a bit but immediately went back to normal. She thought her mother would be calling to check up on her after seeing the news since her mother knew about her relationship. The inner upper class socialites also knew about her relationship. Once again, she ended up mocking herself. What was she expecting from her physically present but emotionally and mentally unavailable parents?
"You know Cora, I feel like a fool Yea, shedding my tears for someone who deserves to feed off a trash can and struggling just for parents who are unavailable..but one thing is for sure C, I am done." Cora could have sworn that her heart stopped beating for a second immediately after Rose said these words.
"I'm done giving the world my best, I am done giving the world the shiny version of me. Maybe I was meant to be cold always.. a cold blooded human. Ironic I know but definitely yes...Definitely a cold blooded Rose." Her lips immediately curled up and Cora could see the bloodlust, the viciousness, the tactic planning and the coldness flash in her beautiful brown eyes.
"It's okay Rose, I am always here for you." Cora immediately voiced her thoughts and feelings as she stood and walked around the dining table just to embrace her best friend. She knew she could not stop Rose right now because the girl needed alot of healing but she knew that she will not be leaving her best friend to wallow in coldness and self blame for the rest of her life because when the right time comes she is going to make sure that the whole world paves way for her best friend and one thing about her, she doesn't miss!
After their meal and talk, the girls both retired to their rooms. Rose immediately browsed through her phone only to find a text from her grandma informing her to brace herself and make sure she is well prepared for the Katz Cooperation.Yes. Her grandparents were going to handover the company to her without blinking an eye lid because together with Cora, they are the only one's who knew about her own hidden empire and they knew how capable she was. Rose immediately smiled before giving an affirmative reply to her grandma and immediately arranging for her personal stylist to head over to Cora's house the next day with a bunch of their latest and most iconic collection.
"Well, I hope the world is ready to receive what I throw at them because mercy won't be on my list for the longest time possible or maybe forever." Rose quietly murmured as she brushed her butt long, shiny, jet black hair with very careful steps. She had just come out of the shower and in just her towel, she observed herself on the mirror wondering why anyone would fumble someone like her in the first place. She shook off her thoughts as she decided that today was going to be last time she was going to cry on the topic love.
Since she did not feel sleepy, she decided to head downstairs and grab a bottle of wine.
On the balcony sat a beautiful woman covered in a robe, her hair beautifully braided as she held onto her glass of wine observing the sky. Despite her simplicity, one could still feel the air of elegance around her.
Once again, despite promising herself that she was not going to think about Andrew that much, her line of thoughts somehow went to him and she couldn't help but face palm herself. Did she really become a naïve person that she couldn't even point out the red flags Andrew possessed? While thinking, her line of thoughts went to Hart entertainment. A company that is due to the hard work of Andrew on the surface and to the public but the harsh reality being her blood, sweat, and tears but not a problem because she can easily destroy what she created.
Hart entertainment was on the verge of bankruptcy three years ago when it was handed down to Andrew but she helped him revive it with her fast and sharp thinking. Since she could revive it, she might as well as turn it into ashes. Well..this depended on how much they were going to trigger her and bother her. She thought this because she knew from just a glance how stupid that Abigael girl really is and she knew the girl's provocation has just begun with the pregnancy saga.
