Just as agreed, the next day first thing in the morning, her personal stylist Linda got there with different gowns for both of them. The girls had some fun as they chose the best of the best from Rose's latest collection. 'Hmph! I'll see how they will all pave way for my boss tomorrow! That scum bag? He will come back on all fours because no one will be able escape my boss's charm' Linda secretly swore as she was able to connect on what happened. After they were done, Rose decided to visit her grandparents to wrap up the preparations for the big day.
In just a normal tee-shirt, a fitting jeans, sneakers, lip gloss and mascara combo and a messy bun, the girl got into her Audi A8 and drove to her grandparents house.
"Good morning young miss." The guards at the gate immediately saluted her the moment they spotted her car. Their attitude towards her was extremely friendly despite being retired soldiers who were trained not to display their emotions. The reason for their friendliness is due to the fact that they were aware of how much their masters loved this young miss and also because she is probably the only grandchild who cares about the two old folks.
"Grandma! Grandpa!" Rose's voice immediately sounded in the beautiful vintage like mansion making the two elders immediately blossom with happiness as well as the few servants who were going about their business. They knew how much happiness their young miss brought to the household.
"My beautiful granddaughter, come here and talk to grandma, there is some soup about to be brought, what about a cup of tea? Or a glass of m..." Grandma Katz was cut of by a hearty melodious laughter that made not only her heart but also her husband's heart turn into pudding and a doting expression gracing their faces.
"I am fine grandma, your hug is enough for me.." These words were followed by a solemn expression on her face as she immediately buried her head into her Nonna's embrace as she inhaled deeply. Grandma Katz had a slight smile as she gently tapped her back whereas grandpa Katz gently brushed her messy bun. The two elders ofcourse knew about what happened but because they respected their grand daughter, they waited for her to open up on her own and sure enough she visited them on her own accord. Her eyes immediately turned degrees colder as she imagined the amount of emotional heartache the young lass has gone through but she knew she was not going to let them all go without causing trouble for them here and there.
"Things will get better my little bird, grandma and grandpa will always have your back sweetheart." Grandpa Katz voiced out earning a genuine smile from Rose in return. "I know grandpa and I thank God for you everyday. Maybe I have been too soft.. but I believe no more of that.." The two elders listened to their granddaughter and despite the amount of pride and trust they had in her, the heartache they felt for her wasn't any less. The elders knew how her parents didn't bother about their only child simply because she wasn't born a boy but the more her parents pushed her away the more they embraced her.
"Don't think much about it grandpa, you too grandma, let me make your favourite tea for now and later on your favourite meals." Rose said as she stood up and headed towards the kitchen not forgetting to reveal a childish expression followed by a gentle laughter.
The two elders watched her disappear with smiles on their faces but the moment she disappeared, the smiles on their faces turned into bitter ones instead. "Hmph! I'll see how this useless son of mine acts tomorrow when he realizes the child he neglected is the one going to carry 90% of Katz empire!" Grandpa Katz immediately voiced out earning an equally firm response from his wife. "We have to fight for her even though we know she can do it herself but honey, even if I die trying, no one is messing with my precious flower! As for the Harts..we shall see!" Grandma's face revealed a disgusted and determined expressions as she set clear her intentions to her husband who ofcourse agreed with no fault.
To them, Rose is a ray of sunshine, a beautiful one at that. She is the only non pretentious grandchild they have, the only one among the four Katz branch who truly loved them as her grandparents and didn't pretend to butter them and treat them like cash cows.Furthermore, Rose is their first and eldest grandchild, of course they will love her and her parents treatment towards her only pushed her more to them.
"Oh right....I'll call that old man Lee and ask for an important favour that will further skyrocket Rose's reputation the moment she steps in as the president tomorrow evening." Grandpa Katz immediately picked up his phone before the end of his speech and immediately dialed a number.
After making the call the old man turned towards his wife and shared a knowing look as his eyes darted towards the kitchen and back to his phone. Grandma Katz widened her eyes in surprise before nodding enthusiastically. "They will be here by lunch time.." The man whispered to his wife who giggled mischeviously as she rubbed her hands together.
It was right at this time that Rose came back with a tea set and immediately she poured the tea, the rich gingerly smell filled the room calming down the elders' nerves immediately. The group of three enjoyed their tea alongside some sugarless biscuits while sharing different stories filling the once quiet household with happiness.
'Our young miss is so beautiful.'
'It's only rainbows and sunshine when young miss is around.'
'sigh..such a filial child!'
Different servants around the house smiled as they looked at the picture of three laughing happily without any care in the world. They felt that they were so lucky having such a young filial miss.
"Aah..right little bird, we will be having some guests from the Lee family over for lunch, you don't have to cook, just leave it for the servants..." Grandpa Katz spoke up earning an understanding look from Rose. "No can do grandpa, the more the merrier! You don't have to worry, I can handle it grandpa. Leave it to your capable all time superhero!" The two elders immediately burst out laughing as they watched her try bowing out of courtesy mimicking those 'prince charmings'.
They knew how much she loved cooking for her loved ones and of course, they were not going to stop her at all, afterall, who wouldn't want to brag about such a grandchild?
