Chereads / THE COLD BLOODED ROSE / Chapter 6 - Hope?

Chapter 6 - Hope?

After the little tea ceremony with her grandparents, Rose personally cleared the table before heading to the kitchen once again to prepare the big meal.

"Young miss, please tell us what your request is and let us fulfil it." The butler of the old mansion, bulter James immediately spoke up when he saw her putting on an apron ready to get to work. His statement was followed by an affirmative response from the other servants who did not want to see their young miss tiring herself out.

"Come on uncle James, I told you Rose is just fine, besides I miss cooking for my grand parents.. please.." Rose immediately wore a pitiful expression tugging the hearts of the people making them inwardly sigh. Their young miss had so much power against them!

"Fine, how about helping me laying out the ingredients needed and preparing the table once I am done?"

"Sure thing young miss, name it and it will be done."

Rose nodded in satisfaction after making the butler and other servants give into her. She observed the large kitchen and decided to make chicken the main ingredient with different recipes just for them. She also decided to make some healthy vegetable options and even healthy drinks since she was mindful about their health.

Immediately she came to a conclusion on what she wanted to make, she instructed the servants who were on stand by on what to get and in what quantity. The servants immediately obeyed as they did their work with happy smiles because they enjoyed serving their young miss so much, furthermore, everytime she cooked she made sure there was enough to even feed them. Her food would basically feed the whole mansion from the masters to literally all servants.

Rose then put on her Airpods, playing some soft music as she embarked in her work, a serious expression gracing her beautiful face. She looked so carefree and relaxed in comparison to the Rose who was looking like a wreck yesterday. Cooking was like a whole therapy session for her and without her knowledge, her heart felt lighter than it was initially, simply because she was genuinely doing what she really loved.

Just like that, three hours hurriedly went by, the whole mansion filled with the beautiful aroma from her cooking making some of the servants blush while passing by the kitchen because they knew the moment the food hit their taste buds they would likely act like some starved beggers.

"Now that's what I am talking about!" Rose excitedly exclaimed as she took out her apron, admiring her cooking in satisfaction.

"I need to have a quick clean up Uncle James, please instruct some of the maids to set the table. I will be back." Rose's voice echoed in the mansion as she rushed to her bedroom for a quick clean up and change of outfit since she reeked of the kitchen smell.

While she was cleaning up, the Lee family unfortunately arrived and were immediately led to the dining room. The table was set but the food was still in the kitchen as the maids awaited for their young miss to come down and instructed them further. The Katz elders noticed this but did not say a word as it was not in their place to instruct them for now.

The Lee family present included the whole family surprisingly apart from the youngest daughter of the Lee family.

"It smells so heavenly in here!" Grandpa Lee immediately voiced out as the rest hurriedly nodded making the Katz elders smile heartedly. "Ofcourse it does! My little bird never misses with her cooking." The old man shamelessly boasted as his wife backed him up with a foolish grin on her face.

"I can't wait really! It has been long since I saw the young lass."

"She will be down shortly but before that, why don't we go through our conversation before?"

"Right old Man! That is why I brought my grandson with me."

The words of grandpa Lee made the elders immediately turn to the overbearing young man sitted across them and the more they observed him, the more they felt that he deserved to be their grandson in law since they watched him grow from a cheeky boy to the now overbearing president of the Lee Conglomerate.

"Grandpa, grandma. I brought you something little, sorry it isn't much." His rich voice echoed making the two elders smile as they received the antique vases he presented.

His mother, Mrs Katz inwardly rolled her eyes as she observed her son acting as if he did not just buy them one of the rarest vases still roaming in the face of earth.

'I..Oh heavens!' Rowan Lee who was about to say another word to the Katz elders froze as his nostrils immediately picked the smell of elegancy only for his eyes to shoot up and come into contact with what he can describe as the most beautiful woman to ever bless his vision.

Before him, just a few distance from his stood a beautiful heavenly woman dressed in a elegant black spaghetti high slit midi dress that held on to her curvaceous body with absolute no intention of letting go. Her luscious hair was braided into two giving off a relaxed and casual vibe. He noticed her double earrings that added further into her looks, his eyes slowly observing her face and the moment he saw her beautiful plump lips he felt a little funny making him suck in a sharp breath as he tried recovering his composure.

On realizing that Rowan had gone silent all of a sudden, all the elders followed his line of sight and my oh my! They immediately understood Rowan's situation because even in casual clothes Rose looked absolutely stunning. Mr and Mrs Lee looked at their stupefied son and shared a quick look of satisfaction before turning to the elders, both the Lee and Katz elders who were also sharing and exchanging the same expressions. Looks like the would become in-laws one of this fine days and they honestly couldn't wait.

"Grandpa, grandma sorry to keep you waiting." Her sweet voice resounded pulling Rowan out of his frozen situation as he lightly cleared his throat.

"I greet the Lee elders." Out of curtsy she bowed to the elders who immediately wore soft expressions and responded to her.

"Mr Lee." That was her only greeting to Rowan, followed by a firm casual expression.

"I won't keep us waiting anymore, Uncle James, please instruct the maid.. never mind, let me head there myself."

Rose immediately headed towards the kitchen as they all watched her leave keeping in mind her reserved greetings towards them despite seeing her grow.

"Spill the tea Mary." Grandma Lee immediately turned to grandma Katz as she really felt she was so unfamiliar with this version of Rose.

Grandma Katz sighed before she started explaining to the Lee family about Rose and how hard her emotional journey has been. She did not omit anything since she knew the chances of them being family one day had just bloomed based on how Rowan reacted to Rose.

According to her, the more love Rose received the more at peace she was going to be. She proceeded to explain about her relationship with her parents, how much the girl tried and asked them not to blame her for her reserved look and attitude since God knew how much the girl is trying to hold herself emotionally.

"Sigh!.. I am just afraid Linda. I am afraid my grand daughter will never love again. I know she only smiles because she is around my husband and I but what about the other days Linda? Love is going to be a foreign word to her..I honestly don't know Linda..I don't.." Grandma Katz tried finishing her statement but she was so overwhelmed by emotions that she had to stop before she bawled her eyes out crying.

The only thing they didn't realize was that Rose had been listening to their conversation from the very start but it wasn't only her.. the servants heard everything too..
