Chapter 15 - Chapter 15

The pickup car I was riding in had arrived in front of the courtyard of Reza's two-story house. The house is beautiful with plants growing in the front yard of the house.

"Wow, the house is so big, Bagas," Uncle Narto looked at Reza's house. "Lucky you got a rich man's wife!" he said patting gently on my shoulder with a proud look.

"yes, Uncle," I said with a small smile.

"Alhamdulillah, Bagas, your dream has finally come true." Now it's mom's turn to pat my shoulder full of emotion.

I quickly took Mom and Uncle Narto to the main door of Reza's house. I'm sure sure sure reza's parents have been waiting for our arrival since then. Because Uncle Narto's car had broken down several times, which made our arrival a little late.

"Assalamualaikum," I greeted from outside the door.

It wasn't long before someone opened the door for me. I and my mother and Uncle immediately entered the house. Then sat down on the soft sofa, after Reza's maid had invited her to us.

Uncle Narto was amazed by the entire interior that filled Reza's house. Naturally, it is because Uncle Narto is a village person. It is still rare for there to be rich people in the area where we live. Because most of them are eyed as farmers and cattle breeders.

"In a while, Mr. Bagas, I will call mom first," said the housekeeper at Reza's house.

A few moments later came papa Reza and mamanya, women who looked still beautiful even though her face looked old.

"Bagas!" said Mama Reza welcoming my arrival kindly.

I quickly grabbed my future in-laws' hand and kissed the back of his hand with takzim. Alternate with Papa Reza sitting right across from me.

"It's great to meet Mom," the woman with a kind smile chimed in at my mother.

"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," said the fat man sitting beside Reza's Mama.

"Yes, Mrs, Mr. So before that, I want to apologize for coming to mom and dad's house," said the mother, sounding cautious.

Naturally, it was only this time that mom met a respectable person like Reza's parents. Previously, mothers were just friends with farm laborers and also cattle herders.

"Yes, ma'am, don't behave like that," Mama Reza replied with a warm smile.

"So the intention of my coming here, I want to propose to Reza to be the son-in-law in my house and as the wife of Bagas my son," said the mother looking so sincere and expectant.

"Alhamdulillah, if my wife and I are up to Reza, mom. Whatever the child wants, we will definitely be ridhoi. After all, Reza and Bagas have also known each other for a long time. That's right, Bagas?" said Papa Reza dropping his gaze at me.

I nodded with a small smile on the corner of my lips.

"Aslamualaikum, what's this all about Pa?" said the newly walked-in Reza, his face looking surprised at the arrival of my family at his house.

"Wa'alaikum greetings," we said at the same time.

"Come here, Reza!" Mama Reza patted gently the sofa that was next to her.

Reza complied with a bewildered face. Looking at me and also my mother in turn.

After greeting my mother and Uncle Narto, Reza immediately dropped her body right next to her Mama.

"What's this all about, Ma?" asked Reza in a slightly whisper. But I can still listen clearly to Reza's remarks to mom.

The short-haired woman smiled slightly looking at Reza who was getting more and more confused. "Baby, the arrival of Bagas and his family here is to propose to you," said Reza's mother.

"What? Apply?" Reza made both eyes with a surprised face.

"Why is this, Bagas? It's not that yesterday I told you that if I won't get married before I become a civil servant." Reza got up from her seat and looked at me. Her face was scarlet with a restraint to anger.

I was silent unmoved. I saw that my mother's face changed instantly, especially Uncle Narto, who had been the most chatty since just now, has now become silent without making a sound.

"Reza, don't be so, baby! Sit here first!" The woman pulled Reza's hand until the girl sat back up with her chest up and down holding back the anger.

"Ma, I don't want to get married yet. I want to get married if Bagas is able to make a house for me, even if I have been appointed as a civil servant. I don't want to live a poor life, Ma," Reza said.

I glanced at mom pulling her body slightly leaning against the Chair. There was a look of lethargy enveloping her face, though the face that had been filled with strokes still had a smile on her lips.

"It's madam!" said mom breaking the tension. "It's okay, let Reza achieve his ideals. She is still young anyway," mom replied with a smile. Mom looks very wise even though I'm sure at this time mom's heart is very disappointed.

I knew mom must have been hurt, because Reza had rejected my proposal. I don't know, how can I love a woman like Reza. Even as the days go by, my love grows more and more fertile in my heart.

"I'm sorry Ma'am, Bagas, like what I've said I'd get married if Bagas had been able to give me a house. Because I don't want to if I have to live with my mother-in-law, and another one, I won't get married if I haven't been a civil servant. If Bagas and mom disagree, please just find another woman to be Bagas's wife." Reza looked resentfully at my mother.

I didn't expect that the sweet mouth was able to say as sharply as a knife to me in front of my mother and her parents.

"Yes, Reza, I know, Bagas was not born into a family of rich people," the mother replied in a voice that was loud as if holding back tears.

"I'm sorry, madam!" said Papa Reza, who looked annoyed by his daughter's attitude.

"It's okay sir, madam. Thank you for accepting our arrival. We say goodbye to go home first!" Mom immediately got up and said goodbye, followed by uncle Narto who was mute following mom

I was still sitting, my legs seemed to be so heavy to get up and stand up. Today the woman I have always been proud of actually hurts the heart of the woman I have always kept her heart in my entire life.

'Mother, I'm sorry!'

Reza turned his face away without turning his head to me or my mother. Her pretty face looked irritated by the ups and downs of the breath.

Meanwhile, Reza's parents look embarrassed by their son's attitude. It turns out that not always higher education is able to guarantee a person's Ethics.

All the way mom just fell silent. Even Uncle Narto didn't dare to speak a bit. I chose to stare at the lush trees along the way from the open side glass of the car. Ah, today is really tiring. Actually what kind of love do you want from me, Reza?

"Never mind sis, maybe he's not Bagas' mate," Uncle Narto snapped breaking the silence between us.

Tears fell down the mother's cheeks. His tears were getting faster and faster with his constantly shaking shoulders.

"Never mind, Mom, don't cry!" coaxed me to grab the back of mom's hand.

"You stupid boy!" Mom shook off my hand firmly. "What are you defending such an arrogant woman as, Bagas? Is there no good woman in this world in your eyes?" the mother pinched my thighs until I squirmed in pain.

'I don't know mom, I don't know why I love Reza so much either.'
