Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Early in the morning I had prepared the needs I would need on the way. My backpack has also been filled with various souvenirs for my mother-in-law. If I have time, later I will also add more souvenirs for mom and Bagas.

I deliberately didn't tell Bagas about my arrival because I wanted to give him a surprise. I can't imagine if Bagas suddenly saw me there. Surely the man will love me even more because of my intention to make up with his mother. Ah, I don't know since when I became a beggar of Bagas love like this. As I remember, Bagas kept begging me to marry him. But now everything is turning to me.

I've filled my motor tank. It seemed to be enough for the two-hour journey to Bagas' house. If the speed is moderate usually up to three hours will only get to Bagas's house which is quite far from where I live.

The mobile phone on the table flickered many times. I saw Bagas' name written on the screen of the flat object.

"Hello, baby!" I said after pressing the green button on the phone screen.

"Where are you doing, Reza?" he asked from behind the phone. His voice sounded lazy, it must be that at this time Bagas had just woken up from his sleep.

"Um, I want to go to school again, baby!" I said glancing at the clock at home that had shown 6:30 in the morning.

"Yes, be careful on the road!" he messaged from behind the phone. Then Bagas immediately ended his call after giving me a distant peck.

I put the phone in the thick jacket I was wearing. A long trip will definitely be enough to make my body easily catch a cold. Moreover, the route I will pass this time is almost filled with wilderness that is widespread almost along the way.

I put out all the lights in the house. Because of the plan I will stay for a week at my mother-in-law's house. There was only the remaining porch light that I deliberately turned on. After I made sure all the doors I locked. I immediately drove my bike out of the house simple wedding gift from Bagas.

Along the way the memories with my husband made me miss him even more. Such a gentle man didn't even have the slightest blemish for me to be angry with him. Ah, Bagas, again I miss you so much.

An hour's drive away, I finally arrived at cepu plaza market. I bought some clothes and fruits for my mother-in-law. I hope that bringing some of these hands can change her attitude to me a little bit and make our relationship better.

After I felt complete, I hurried to continue my journey. It's still an hour-plus drive that I have to fight. Pass through the landscape with tall trees looming. Ah, it turned out to be a long way from Bagas' house.

After a journey of almost three more hours I finally arrived at Bagas' house. The once simple house has now changed. It becomes a minimalist two-story house, with a small garden in its courtyard. And the fence of his house that is almost two meters high makes me only able to see the flower garden that appears from between the fences of the house.

I still stayed on the edge of a street watching Bagas's deserted house. It seems that Bagas and his mother are not in the house. I saw the high gate being padlocked from the outside after I tried to knock on the door.

"Huf!" I blew a little out of my mouth, my plan to make a surprise seemed to have to fail.

"What are you doing?" asked a woman who passed by in front of me.

"Is Mrs. Marini not at home??" I asked the woman who turned her eyes to the two-story house on a street.

"Oh, Mrs Marini. Yes, she is again walking with her family, " she explained.

'Family?'

'What does this woman mean is Bagas?'

The young mother passed away leaving me under the big tree where I was sheltering without further explanation. I was upset, because the weather today was so hot. If my house were close, I would choose to go back home instead of having to wait like this.

The twilight rays began to reveal a yellow light in the western sky. I waited all day for Bagas' arrival. But the man did not come home.

Annoyance and wanting to be angry mixed into one filled my chest. I don't know what my face looks like this time, it must be even blackened because of the sunlight and street dust that feels very sticky.

A car stopped in front of the fence of Bagas' house. The dream car that I had always wanted and that Bagas promised me. Then who came to visit Bagas's house in the afternoon like this with the good car.

I hid behind a motorcycle on the street of Bagas' house. Anyone in the car would not be able to see my presence.

I saw a man get out of the car, then opened the gate of Bagas' house. But that man is really familiar to me.

"Bagas!" I said as if something was stuck in my throat looking at the man who was opening the two-meter-high gate was none other than my husband.

Since when did Bagas have such a good car? Ah, I threw out all my prejudices. Maybe it was a rental car.

After Bagas put the car into his yard. The man got back out of his car, but with a scene made me very disappointed.

My husband is carrying a baby, maybe the baby is about a year old. I couldn't see clearly, my eyes were now filled with dew which made my gaze even more foggy along with the pain in the chest.

A woman walked behind Bagas with Marini's mother, my in-laws who looked so happy entering the house.

I cried, clear granules falling down my cheeks. I didn't understand the scene before my eyes and I didn't know what to do next either. I continue to treat my worst guesses with positive energies. But my body was even more weak like I wanted to faint.

I got on mymotor, I had to go home and didn't want to see that painful scene again.

"Reza!" an arm grabbed my hand.

I looked at the man who had that bitter face. I don't know when Bagas has been standing next to mymotor .

Soon I gently tapped the tears that soaked my cheeks with my fingers. I don't want Bagas to know if I just cried over something that is not necessarily the truth.

"Reza, why not say if you want to come here?" asked Bagas who walked towards the front of the motorcycle. So that the man could clearly see my face.

"Um, sorry!" I said in a trembling voice. My throat seemed to suffocate until it was so difficult to breathe and speak again.

"You have been here for a long time?

"No, I just arrived," I said, holding back the pain inside my chest.

"Yes already, come in yuk! You want Maghrib," bagas said.

For a moment I was silent, I turned my gaze to the two-story house across the street. There was a bit of pain and fear to get into it. Afraid if only the injuries I encountered, but I was even more curious about who the baby bagas had been carrying just now.

"Reza, why daydream?" The man touched my wrist to make me wake up from my daydream.

"Uh yes, sorry!" I said, looking at Bagas, who was smiling sweetly at me.

"Back a little bit, let me bring the bike. You miss me?" said Bagas jokingly.

"No!" I replied shyly.
