The exhilarating feeling of flying for the brief of the moment already cascaded down the anxiety rising inside her. It was disappearing and it washed away as she hit the water. She didn't struggle to swim up the surface.
Letting herself sink until her back met the tiled floor of the pool, her eyes saw the faint light of the moon in the sky, reflected on the water's surface. The noise inside her head was gone. Her ears were only filled with the water's low vibrations. Like a comforting white noise for a baby, it made her a little sleepy.
She must have lost her mind when she closed her eyes instead. Just a little. Just for a short time, she wanted to feel free of those images in her dreams.
