In no time, Elen was already dressed up. Their breakfast was served in their chambers. Elen patiently sat waiting for him. She couldn't start eating without him, so she had to wait for a little while.
Thankfully, She didn't wait longer because she saw her husband's large and huge figure standing before her. She looked up at him and what she saw made her eyes widen a bit. Why was he looking so angry? Did she make him upset? No, He was fine when he left so what the hell happened to him?!! She saw his jaws clench and his fists were also clenched. She wanted to ask but she felt it would be unwise to do so.
"Oh Alexander you're here." She said giving him a warm smile while holding his hands. And just like that his clenched jaws and fists loosened up when she touched him. Elen was shocked because the blazing aura calmed down drastically. Was her touch able to affect him? Well, this was good then. If her touch can calm him down when he's angry then she now has a secret weapon - her touch.
Alexander was as shocked as Elen. Earlier when he left the room, he bumped into his brother. His brother warned that he was going to do anything to secure the throne even if it meant killing someone. Of course, Alexander knew the 'someone' he was talking about.
Alexander knew that his brother never made empty threats and he meant every word he said. He was already burning up in anger and he didn't want Elen to see him in this state. He was not sure if he would control himself and not hurt her, but something kept pushing him to go back to his wife. No matter how hard he tried to pull back and turn away, that thing kept pushing him until he was getting closer and closer.
He finally reached their chambers and he saw her sitting on the edge of the bed. His anger was already taking control over him and he needed to leave fast before he did something he would regret, but he somehow kept going closer till he was standing only few inches away from her. His brain was telling him to leave fast but he stood still ignoring whatever his brain was telling him.
Just when he was at the brink of losing all of his sanity. He heard his wife's soft and beautiful voice and her warm but little hands covered his. His anger suddenly dissolved like it wasn't there in the first place. He was back to his usual cold and emotionless self. Well, he was shocked because even he had never been able to control himself but his wife just did that by touching him!! This was truly unbelievable and shocking! Just who was this woman? Was she a witch? No? maybe she's an angel sent from heaven.
This wife was of his was not only a prophetess but also an angel. She was just getting mysterious every single second. The only person that had managed to calm him down back then was Bianca but she's gone. He didn't know why, but he felt some sort of connection between the two. They were just alike. Their behavior and even their voice. Alexander hadn't paid attention to this much but he just realized that his wife and Bianca seemed to share so many things in common. Their hair, nose, eyes and even their voice sounded so similar. No, he's just thinking too much! That must be it. He should be thankful to his wife that she managed to calm him down. He needs to stop thinking about irrelevant things.
He took a deep breath and looked at his wife. He finally spoke after the long and unbearable silence.
"Yes, I'm here so let's eat." He said and Elen nodded.
They both ate in silence as always, until Elen broke the silence.
"Did something happen?" She asked and the man stared at her for a long while but what followed her question was a deafening silence. You could even clearly hear the morning breeze and the birds singing their melodious song.
"I mean you looked like something bad happened. Did someone sa -"
"Nothing happened. That is just how I am. Now eat your food." He said cutting her off but Elen didn't look like she was going to back off.
"That is not how you are." She said and the man chuckled devilishly.
"What makes you think that I'm a good and gentle person. This is how I am. I tend to get angry over nothing, that's why I want you t -"
"Oh please. Give me a break. You are the only one making yourself that way. I don't believe you were born that way." She said, clearly frustrated.
"Why can't you just live a normal and happy life. Why do you want to make everything difficult for yourself?!!" Her voice was already getting louder.
"Because I'm not meant to be happy.....Because I'm not normal. The world is against my happiness and that's why I'll remain cold and distant forever. Now eat, and don't say a word about this again." He said. His tone was still calm but Elen knew he was warning her. She would just let him be for today. She wouldn't worsen his mood.
She sighed and then focused her attention on the food. The both ate the remaining meal in silence.
.....
The duo had finished their meal and were now at the stable with his five soldiers waiting behind them. The soldiers were all tensed. They were all alert because of what their prince had told them, they needed to stay on alert concerning the princess's safety.
The atmosphere was suffocating and they felt like choking. Was there really any need to ooze out his menacing aura!! Shouldn't he be calm now that the princess is with him?!! Why is he still acting like there's danger lurking around?!!
Elen could also feel the menacing aura coming from him. Oh goodness, what could she do to make him relax his nerves. 'Ahh! I have a plan, but I just hope it doesn't make him even more angry.' She thought silently.
She tiptoed and stood behind him but before he could turn she had already hugged him. Her grip on him was tight, she just hoped silently that his aura would dissolve quickly.
Alexander stood still like a statue. He never expected that move from his wife. What is she even trying to do? While he was still pondering on the pros and cons. Slowly, his tensed body relaxed and his aura had already dissolved completely. Elen took a deep breath and slowly let go. 'Thank goodness he's back to normal.' she thought silently.
His soldiers were all looking like they had seen something unbelievable. This princess was just too much! She managed to calm their prince who looked like he was about to go on a rampage. This was truly a miracle to them. Nobody had ever managed to calm their prince. Even if he went on a rampage, he still wouldn't calm down and would want to spill more blood just so he could get satisfied. Now the princess just hugged him and his bloodlust completely disappeared. Wow!! This was just too good.
Robert was already grinning like an idiot and was whispering things into Lago's ears. The poor man was shoving him away but Robert didn't care the least.
"Did you see that!!" Robert said.
"I'm not blind, you fool!! I clearly saw everything that happened." Lago commented without even glancing at him.
"The princess is just too amazing. She managed to calm the prince who was already raging inwardly with just a hug. Wow! Wow! Wow! I can't believe my eyes. Am I dreaming or this is real?" Robert said, still clearly in shock.
"Yes. You're dreaming so please let me be." Lago said.
"Haha! I know this is not a dream. Had I known a hug would have been able to calm our prince, I would have given him lots of hugs." He excitedly said.
'I bet you wouldn't even have been alive to see this day.' Lago said inwardly.
Lago just glared at the man and gave him one of those. 'just let me be' looks.
"Oh ok. Since you don't want to talk, I'll just pester our boring leader. He would be willing to entertain me right? Right? Right." He said raising his brows continuously.
Lago gave him another hard glare and then left his presence.
Robert sighed and then proceeded to pester their leader, but before he could even take five steps, a voice stopped him. A voice that could make anyone flinch back in fear. Robert turned his head to find the source of the voice and he saw the prince standing beside his wife with a calm face. Robert gulped and took a step forward.
He turned back to look at his comrades and they were all giving him a wicked smirk. 'I know that these scumbags are the cause of all of this!' He said silently. 'Why did the prince have to call me of all people?' 'Did he perhaps heard what I had said?' 'Ahh, that would be the only reasonable explanation, but I made sure to keep my voice very low, he couldn't have heard me right?' 'Is this how I'll just die, without seeing the end of their story?' 'No, I need to find a way out of this. I need to explain myself before it's too late.' He thought to himself but before he could even start thinking again, he was already standing before the prince.
He turned his head slightly and he could still see his comrades with that wicked smirk and the words 'die well my friend' flashed across their eyes.
Robert was about to speak but Alexander beat him to it.
"Robert....prepare two horses, and don't waste a tiny second of my time." He ordered.
Huh? Horse? Prepare? What just happened? 'I already thought I might say my last prayers but...' He thought silently. He blinked multiple times to make sure he was not dreaming.
His comrades were all at the brink of bursting out in laughter. Seeing the quiet restless Robert standing still like he had heard the most shocking thing, was a view none of them had never imagined would happen.
Robert was still standing still like he had turned into a complete statue. Why did the prince had to choose him? He would have chosen other guards, why did it have to be him?!!
"I'm sure you heard me clearly." Alexander said, making him break free from his thoughts.
"Y-y-yes your highness." He said and hastily moved to prepare the horses.
In no time, the frowning Robert arrived with two horse. One black and the other golden brown.
He bowed respectfully and hastily went to meet with his comrades.
"I never imagined you could turn to a statue?" Lucas teased but Robert just gave him a hard glare and they all chuckled quietly except for Robert who was still frowning hard.
"But why did his highness choose me to prepare those horses? Any other guard would have done it." He finally spoke.
"Why don't you ask him?" Finn said with a smirk but Robert just gave him a deadly glare and they all left him to sulk alone.
It was really unbelievable that their prince sent a whole Robert to prepare two horses. He would have just asked any other guards. Why did he pick Robert. Those were the questions that were constantly running in their head. Well, maybe their prince had his reasons.
