She went straight to her parents chambers, she was very nervous, she didn't know how they'll react to her bringing a stranger to the palace. She knew it was an absurd thing to do but she wanted to help that girl. She felt a special spot for the girl. Though, Elen was four years older than the girl, the girl seemed to have experience life far more than Elen.
She held her breath as she knocked lightly on the door. She didn't get any response. 'maybe they don't want to be disturbed.' She thought. And she proceeded to leave, she'll talk to them first thing in the morning.
"You can come in." A voice ordered, she knew that voice too well. It was her father, though, his voice was very calm. What will happen when he found out what she's done?! Elen panicked in her mind.
She took another deep breath. God help her today with all of these tenseness! She prayed silently.
She walked into their chamber as slowly as ever, as if it would delay the danger that was looming.
She finally entered their chamber. She almost gulped because her parents face were as calm as if nothing happened. She knew that behind this calm faces was an anger lurking within them.
F-f-father...I'm sorry I left without your per_"
"No daughter, it's alright...I don't really mind. Besides, I know you e been doing this things- I mean sneaking out of the castle. The only thing I'm angry about is that you made you made your mother here, worried." He said, his face as calm as ever. Elen was shocked, she had been expecting her father to be fuming in anger by now. She even rehearsed a speech she would give them, but now...he's saying everything is fine. This was too good to be true. It was ridiculously unbelievable.
Elen turned to her mom and she gave her a pleading look. But before she could utter a word, her mom her brought her in for a hug. She was so relieved, they didn't seem angry as she expected. But she didn't rejoice so easily, she still hadn't told them about the 'big thing's she's done.
"I'm sorry mu_"
"Shhh. You don't need to be sorry, I've not been a good mother, keeping you in the castle and not giving you the freedom you deserve."
"No mother, I really appreciate all what you both have done for me...you only did that to protect me, not everyone has the kind of protection I have. Some people are out there suffering while I'm here, getting angry at you guys just because you kept me in the castle." Elen said, which made her parents to be confused, what did she see out there that warrant the way she's talking now? They could only wonder why their daughter was saying these things.
"Where did Amir take you to, this time?" Lucid was the one who asked.
Elen took a deep breath and held both her parents hands. They could tell, with the way she was acting, she was about to say 'something big'.
"Please promise that you both won't get angry with what I'm about to tell you." She said.
"I can't promise, I don't know if what you are about to say will make me angry." Lucid was the one who spoke, his wife glared at him and he could only sigh.
"Fine. I promise." He said.
"I brought a girl to the palace...I met her at a camp and she told me that her father....."
Elen's parents looked at her in shock with what she was telling them, they couldn't believe a girl young as that suffered do much. Emilia almost burst out crying, hearing the story her daughter was saying. Lucid on the other hand, only looked in surprised but his face returned back to normal.
"And that's why I brought her here to stay, she's really young and she has a future ahead of her. She's only in this condition because her father died...." Elen explained.
"Would she be staying here with us?" Emilia asked.
"Yes mother, that's why I want you and father to take her as your child. Please let her stay here." Elen pleaded.
Lucid pinched his temples, what has his daughter done? She couldn't refuse her too!!
Elen held her breath in anticipation of what her parents would say.
"Fine, she can stay here in the palace." Lucid said.
Elen jumped up and hugged her dad. "Thanks father!"
"Well this is the least I could do for my beloved daughter and if I refused you...my wife here, won't let me sleep." He said teasingly.
They all chuckled and they all hugged.
