"Ms. Brown. I need your little help. Can you come with me for a moment?" Said Martin matter-of-factly. He gave the photographer an intimidating gaze.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Hicks. I'm busy discussing the project with Jack. So you can ask someone else for help." Lucy replied trying to remain polite in public.
What else does he want? Can't he just go? Thought Lucy irritably.
"I am waiting for you in my office," Martin replied firmly.
His lips formed a thin line that indicated he didn't want to argue anymore. With a glance and a slightly forced smile at the photographer, he then went into the elevator.
Lucy exhaled irritably.
"Looks like the boss needs you. You better get there immediately." Said Jack Sallow, a man who became a photographer at this company.
"I'm sure he doesn't need me. He just wants to find trouble with me." Lucy replied irritably.
"Hahaha. Why do you look so annoyed with him? Ehm... Never mind you just go. I also have a photoshoot soon." Said Jack, who was amused by Lucy.
"All right, see you Jack," Said Lucy then hugged the man.
"See you. Have a nice day, Lucy." Jack answered, hugging Lucy back.
She headed for the elevator and went up to the floor where the CEO's office was.
"What does he want now? If only he wasn't my boss I would have badmouthed him" muttered Lucy while in the elevator.
Ting. The elevator door opened.
She walked over to Thomas's desk at the front of the CEO's room.
"Mr. Hick's waiting," Thomas said before she raised her question.
Lucy snorted at Thomas in disgust and slowly walked toward the door.
Click. The door opened.
Lucy jumped a little in surprise to see Martin leaning on the table with his hand in his trouser pocket and facing the entrance.
"What took you so long?" Martin asked irritably.
Lucy rolled her eyes.
"Did you just roll your eyes in front of me?" Martin said with furrowed eyebrows and lips that formed a thin line. Dislike sign.
"No. You saw it wrong." Lucy replied disrespectfully.
"You know who I am, right? I deserve to be respected by you." Said Martin.
"Really? Yes, you are indeed my boss who must be respected. But what have you done with yesterday's incident? I can respect you if you also respect me. Dear Mr. Hicks." Said Lucy with emphasis.
Martin didn't answer. He closed his eyes and ran his fingers through his hair.
"Let's forget what happened yesterday. Tell me what you want to forget what happened." Martin said while looking at her intensely.
"Do you always act like this to everyone? Taking things so easily." Said Lucy. She clenched her fists tightly.
"Then what should I do? I've apologized for the past problem. But you haven't forgiven me. Then now I made another mistake. Jeez, I'm confused about how to apologize for." Said Martin frustrated.
"You just need to apologize sincerely. And promise not to make mistakes again." Said Lucy trying to give understanding.
"Okay. Lucy Brown, I'm sorry for all the mistakes I've made. And I'll try not to make any mistakes again." Martin said earnestly.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door and Thomas entered.
"Sorry, Mr. Hicks. The clients are waiting in the meeting room." Said Thomas while looking between the two people. He could feel the tension between them.
"Give me five minutes," Martin replied calmly.
"Yes, Mr. Hicks. Ms. Brown," Said Thomas and disappeared behind the door.
"You stay here and don't go anywhere. I still have to hear from you." Said Martin then grabbed the wine on the table and drank it until it was empty.
"Why do I have to wait here? I still have work to do.." Protested Lucy but was quickly cut off by Martin.
"I pay your salary. And I don't give a d*mn if you don't work, I'll still pay your salary." Cut Martin and success makes Lucy speechless .
The man looked in the bathroom to tidy up and took the laptop from the table.
"I dare you to leave. And you won't know what I'm going to do next." Martin said then disappeared behind the door.
"Unbelievable. Who is he managing where I go? I'm not afraid of his threats." Said Lucy then walked away from the room.
