Chereads / My Uncle's Cabin (Alone) / Chapter 4 - 0.4 In the Night

Chapter 4 - 0.4 In the Night

After a couple minutes went by, Tora edged her way towards the door. She heard yelling. Upon instincts she rushed outside to where the noise was coming from. She ran towards the woods. The trees clustered together making even a speck of light impossible to see.

She shivered. Damn its cold. It wasn't this cold before. And I didn't grab my jacket. She thought. Forget that, what the heck was I thinking running out here? How the hell am I suppose to find my way back?

She wanted to shout but didn't. The darkness in the woods seemed to had engulfed her in its dark magic.

She continued to run. She had no clue as to what to do next, but figured running was better than standing still.

After what seemed like forever, she came unto a little cottage. It was old and looked unkept. Like no one has lived their in ages. She came up to the door and was about to knock when a sudden thought hit her.

Wait! How many movies have you watched where the idiots walks up to a creepy house an enters? She asked to no one in particular. Many. She responded to herself. And how many of them SURVIVED? She continued the conversation to herself. Hmmm...good point. Am just saying.

She wanted to knock, but thought it best not to. After all, she wasn't a dumb side character in a frigging movie! This was really happening! And she would be Jim's girlfriend than die in a clichéd setting.

...Oh great! Am gonna die here. she thought depressed. Let's see...dying or being Jim's girlfriend, which one's better? Hmmm, yep. Dying it is.

She saw light and without even thinking, dashed towards it. She came out of the woods and saw that, she was in the town?! What the...? How in the name of Asgard did I get here? Doesn't matter. Find some help if possible.

She ran to the first place any normal person would go to. The dinér. It was full of people. Everyone smiling happily and cheering. She approached the waitress asking her for help, but she walked pass ignoring her. She did the same with four different people but they all reacted the same way. Like she wasn't even there. She rushed outside in confusion, screaming at the top of her lungs. No one paid any attention. Not even glancing her way.

She began to panic. What was happening? Why was everybody acting like she wasn't even there? And where the heck did all this mist came from all of a sudden? Then she heard a familiar name that surprised her and made her turn around.

To the side of her at a toy's store window was a young woman in her late twenties with brown hair covered up in a tall fur coat. Beside her was a little girl. She looked around 5/6, baige hair, blue eyes and quite energetic.

She watched them for a while.

'Mommy, can I get that for my birthday?' The small child said.

'No dear you can't. And don't ask me why. You know my brother won't allow it' The mother said irritated. 'Now come along Cat'.

She was quite surprised by this. Her cousin's nickname for her is Cat. It had to just be a coincidence. Plus that lady couldn't be her mother since she doesn't look like her. But why was did this scene seem so familiar?

She followed the mother and daughter out of town towards, what must be, where they lived. It was the cabin where she and the others were staying. 'But it couldn't be. We're staying their. It must be another ca-' she was cut off by the sound of screaming and yelling coming from towards the cabin.

She ran inside. A man was there beating the crap out of the woman who was with the child. 'Run Tora!! Run and don't look back' she yelled.

The little girl ran outside towards the woods. The woman was bleeding and fell unconscious. The man ran after the little girl.

The scene then changed to where little Tora ran inside the old cottage that she saw before. It looked the same. The man was outside, with a knife.

Slap!

"Yow Danny, have you seen Steven?", asked Jim out of breath.

"No. What do you think we should do Jim?", asked Danny worried.

"We should continue searching. He can't be far. He's probably just lost"

"Yeah. But do you think that's wise with the monster out here? It could have gotten Steven".

"Oh c'mon man. Don't tell me u believe that 'monster' shit! Tora was just mistaken it for a bear. She's had her head in those stupid books so long that she can't even tell reality from imagination".

"Yeah, yea your right"

"Of course am right. Am never wrong you dweeb. Now find Steven".

After what felt like hours, they finally found Steven passed out on the ground under some trash.

"Hey! Hey Jim, he's here!", yelled Danny relieved. With this, they could finally leave the woods. "He's out cold. It looked like he ran and hit his head. Right?"

"You don't say", retorted Jim sarcastically. After a few attempts, they finally woke up Steven.

"Ugh. My head fells like a truck slammed into it", he said holding his head.

"Well not exactly", started Jim. "It was a tree and you ran into it". Danny laughed.

"Will I be okay?", he asked worried.

"Your bleeding, but you'll live", Jim answered. "Let's go back".

Just then, Jim saw something. He began to move from the others. They were concerned but they followed him. They saw the outline of something like...a person. When they reached closer, they were shocked to see who it was.

"Its Tora!!!", exclaimed Danny.

"No shit Sherlock", retorted Jim.

"What's she doing out here in the middle of the woods?", asked Steven concerned.

"Apart from that, what the hell's she doing? Is there something wrong with her?", asked Danny.

"Well, I wish I had the answer to both your questions. But I don't. So why don't we wake her up and ask her instead?", said Jim.

Tora was like a statue. She was standing still, head forward with her eye's closed. It was weird. Because, from they made their way towards her, she showed no sign of movement.

"So...", Danny started to say.

"How do we wake her?", finished Steven.

..."I have an idea", said Jim after a while, with a devious smirk on his face. Before the boys could even ask how, Jim raised his hand and... Slap! He slapped Tora.

The boys were shocked. They never expected that. They knew Jim was a terrible person, yes. But to hit a girl? And Tora on that?! He was a dead man walking with a silly grin on his face.

Tora began to stir. She was brought out of her illusion. Or was it? Danny and Steven slowly edged away from the two. In order to stay out of the cross fire.

"What...the fudge?!!", she yelled groggily. She groaned and felt her cheek. She knew it. She was slapped. But which dickhead would do that!! She thought. She turned around to see Jim with a stupid grin on his unpleasant face, and Danny and Steven looking scared. She wondered why, then it hit her. Like that slap on her face. JIM!!!

She turned around, lifted her foot and make a swift and hard kick.

Jim fell to the ground, holding his front groaning. She smiled. "Glad to see your okay Steven", she said angelically. "Now if you guys don't mind grabbing your dick distorted friend over there, let's get back. Its really freezing out here".

They nodded and helped Jim from the ground. It was awfully quiet between the four. Danny was carrying Jim and Tora was leading way with Steven at her heel. Flirting with her.

They walked through the woods fine with no problems. Pity they didn't know what lay waited them at the cabin upon their return.
