Chapter 6 - 0.6 You Can't Leave

This is insane! There's just no way! What the hell is this?!

C'mon Tora. Came the cackling voice throwing Tora out of her thoughts. Your effort is futile. Completely useless! The voice so menacing, it made shivers run down her spine as cold sweat washed her forehead;drenching her completely. Surrender yourself over to us. We'll give you what you want most in the world.

No! This isn't happening. That's it! This isn't real. This is just a dream. A nightmare I'll wake up from. This couldn't possibly be real. Its just a dream. Just a dream!

What you want most. You shall have it! Just give in Tora!

"No. No!", shouted Tora whilst running through an endless hall of white. The never-ending corridor stretching on and on into a void of sickening and forth coming white. The continuous scene making her dizzy from fatigue and seeing the same thing with every move her feet made. Trying to get away from whatever that's chasing her, but seemingly can't get far enough.

'Tora?'

She froze at the voice. The one voice she didn't want to hear. The one voice that would prove to her, make her aware of the fact that this isn't a dream. That this is really happening.

'Tora dear. Please make things easier on your self and surrender. Don't you want a lifetime of happiness? Don't you want to help your friends? To ease their pain? Then listen to your older sibling Tora and surrender. Just. Let. Go'

"Ven! What's going on? Why are you acting like this? Something is wrong I can feel it. This isn't you."

'What are you talking about dear cousin of mine?', her voice sneered. 'Its really me. C'mon Tora, aren't you tired? Just relax. It'll be all better soon'

No! What's going on? How did this happen?!

*Four hours earlier*

"Man and here you were worried that Ven and Daola were killed. Your such a girl sometimes even if you pretend to be otherwise Tora", Jim snickered.

"Ha-ha your so cute Jim", Tora replied sarcastically rolling her eyes. The four of them were seated around the table having lunch whilst the two girls were busy with the daily chores.

"But seriously guys, don't you think its strange? Something is definitely wrong here"

"I don't see it", stated Danny. "The girls are here, the house is in order and they can freaking cook!. As far as I'm concerned, my baby is perfect and I'm quite content", he said with a smugness that could rival Jim's.

"I agree with Tora", spoke Steven sheepishly. This surprised the three. He was never one to voice his opinions. "Something is definitely wrong here. I mean, Daola hunting? Venice Cooking? The same Venice Trailer who prompted cooking as a chefs job only? Tell me you don't see it".

"Okay. We don't see it", Jim stated after a while.

"Jim cut the bullshit and listen to me!", yelled Tora annoyed. "If Steven agrees with this and see's what am talking about, why can't you two?! Get over your selves and open your damn eyes to the truth!!".

"No Tora!", Danny started shouting ferociously. "I'm sick and tired of you trying to turn a good situation into a bad one when there's nothing to be fucking worried about! I'm happy. The girls are happy. There's nothing and I mean absolutely Nothing am gonna let destroy that you hear me!! You so much as think about it and I'll tear the skin right off your body piece by piece and watch you writhe and scream in fucking agony till you die!!!", Daniel fumed menacingly and stormed off leaving everyone in the room flabbergasted.

They expected this type off reaction from Jim, but not Danny. He just backed up the leader. Like the second-in-command in an army. Not to actually take charge.

"Well then," replied Jim after he overcame his shock, "Danny has spoken for the two of us. You just leave it alone you hear me Tora Trailer? Just Leave. It. Alone! And don't think Steven is on your side either. He's just siding with you because he wants in your pants... Or shorts in this case. And if you know what's good for you you'll shut your mouth Steven. Don't think I'll let you off easy". He glared at Steven as he said that and left.

Steven was the first to react after the two boys stormed off. Tora was still staring at the direction they went off in with her mouth hang open and her body as still as a board placed upright. "Don't let them get to you Tora. They see it too, but they just don't want to believe it. Their just in a state of denial".

"But I just don't understand it", she responded after regaining some form of her dignity back. "They know it. Even if their in denial they know the girls aren't real. Why be with a replica of someone you care for other than the real thing?", she asked confused.

"Because let's face it Tora", Steven started. His voice low and sad; barely above a whisper. "There's a possibility that they aren't even alive".

He too went off leaving Tora alone with her thoughts. She didn't understand. What he said was true. They may not be alive. But the latter is also true. There is a chance, though slim, that they are alive. And why not take it? Why not go along with the possibility of the girls being alive than to be here, stuck in some messed up profanity of the mind, with something doing who-knows-what to them?

If they couldn't see it. Or they didn't see it. She would make them. She would save them from whatever the hell is going on. Even if she had to force them, she will make them see.

Ever since they got back to this.... "cabin" they have only ever gone to their bedrooms, the kitchen and the main room. She decided to check the second floor. Which was queer since the cabin she knows didn't have a second floor.

She got up headed in the direction of the stairs and ascended in a rather slow and steady pace. She was surprised when 10 minutes had passed of her going up the stairs and she hadn't reached her destination.

It was like no matter how long she went up, how fast she climbed or how much time passed, she still couldn't reach.

After another 20 minutes had passed of her climbing, she had decided to give up. Just then she reached the top.

It was shocking because a second ago there was no floor and now she was standing at the edge of the step, facing a long corridor, with what seemed to be over fifty rooms.

She sighed. 'Now this', she grimaced. Spreading her hands wide in a moving fashion as if expecting an uninvited hug, 'is gonna talk awhile', she thought.

She started looking into room after room not knowing what she was looking for. It was strange because every room she looked into just gave a pitch black off nothingness and a cold chill that made her body felt frozen. It was like looking into a big, empty void of a wormhole.

But she kept on trying.

She reached the thirtieth door when she began to have a sick feeling in her stomach. Her body quivered, her hands trembled and it was like every cell in her body was screaming at her to turn and run away. Run as fast as the wind and get as faraway from there as possible.

But she didn't. That wasn't Tora. She wasn't the type to run from anything. She didn't know why, but it was something that was just inside of her. Even when she was scared shitless she always gave in to that stubborn side of her.

She reached out her hand.

Twisted the handle and pushed the door forward.

*Back to present time*

She regretted every second of it. She regretted not for once in her life to just listen to the sensible part of her. The part that knew danger even before she could smell it. The part that told her to just give up this foolishness of searching through rooms and just look for another way out. Or to just try harder in convincing Jim and Danny that this was all just an illusion and that she needed to leave.

But she didn't.

She didn't do any of that. Instead she had to go an play 'Miss Hero'. And now she knew the truth. There was no escaping it; No hiding from it; and no ignoring it. It was as clear as day. As white as the long corridor she kept running down; hoping for it to end but knowing its futile. If only she had just listen to Jim and Danny and just leaved it alone. But its over and done. And now she knew... There's just no escape.

They can't leave.
