Chereads / My Uncle's Cabin (Alone) / Chapter 5 - 0.5 Is this a dream?

Chapter 5 - 0.5 Is this a dream?

It was late in the night when the four got back. The door was wide open which didn't really startled the others much, except for the fact that Neither Venice nor Daola came to greet their long awaited arrival.

Tora got nervous. The cabin was too quite even by Sweden's standard. And this is Ven were talking about. She's the earache of the family.

As they approached the front door, the smell was the first think to hit their nostrils. What was that? It smelled like...iron.

There was another scent mixed in with the first. A stronger scent. It was...really strong. It made their nose twitch, their eyes burn, and their stomach made a rollercoaster twist inside. What the hell was that? It was awful. Worser than the scent of burning car tire's. Absolutely horrible.

They went inside the cabin and... surprise! Low and behold. The newly cleaned and spruced living room that they worked so hard on, was way worse than before.

Everything was destroyed. The windows shattered; the furniture's in pieces; and there was...What was that? Is that ...?

Blood!!!?

Danny dropped Jim on the floor and ran further inside. "Daola?! Daola!! Hey, answer me cupcake. Its Danny".

"What about Ven!", screamed Tora.

"I don't give a f**k about that b*tch", he spat venomously. "She's the one that brought us here. And if anything happens to Daola, I'll rip her f**king throat out!"

"Hey Danny man, calm down", said Steven.

"Don't tell me to calm the f**k down. I'll calm down when I want to calm down!!"

"Danny! Shut the F**k up and calm down or I'll make you!!", yelled Jim. He was pissed at Danny for dropping him to floor. His head was bleeding because it hit the board.

"Its fine. Am sure the girls went into town to stay at a motel", said Steven reassuringly. "See, they took the jeep".

"Yeah. Its just like Steven said", hissed Jim. "Remember their just girls. They must be scared sh*tless". Tora rolled her eyes at Jim with a repugnant smirk on his face making her stomach churn. "Right. Its better to not be scared of being alone in a cabin with man-eating spiders than a spider unlike you Jim", Tora retorted. Steven chuckled softly under his breath, forcing back a laugh. Jim clenched his fists and glared at Tora with a look that could make the toughest biker flinch.

Danny relaxed. He walked over to Jim to help him get up when he heard Tora gasp. "What's the matter?", he asked.

"Look at the blood", she stated.

"What about it?"

"Look at how it trails from up there coming down. It seems like some sort of stuggle. Someone must be hurt", she said matter-of-factly

They took the time to finally take a good look at their surroundings. And just as she said, the blood trailed, as if there was some sort of struggle.

Steven turned white. He was thinking of what might have happened to the girls. Strange things had started happening ever since they came there.

"There's no use thinking about that Steve", said Jim. "We'll go get some sleep. Tomorrow we'll clean up the place and get the girls".

They nodded in agreement and head off to bed. No one wanted to say what might have happened to the girls.

They went to bed but everyone except Tora slept. The events of the day kept replaying in her mind. All that transpired. Even the monster.

Everyone thought she was just hallucinating. But she knew what she saw. There was no way someone could hallucinate that.

And what about the illusion? Was it just an illusion or something else? And the cottage. Where did it go?

She didn't take the time to really notice but once she was out of her 'trance', the cottage was no longer there.

What was happening here? Something weird is going on.

Tora spent the night restless. Going over things in her head, coming up with questions and trying to get answers. Before she new it, it was daybreak. The sun was coming up and she still didn't have enough answers to her questions, plus she kept feeling like she forgot something.

She shrugged it off, got up, went to the bathroom, freshen up and then headed downstairs. The boys hadn't gotten up yet. They weren't the morning type like she was. She had to force herself to resit the urge of getting a cold bucket of water, and throw it on a sleeping Jim. She smirked at the thought. The look on his face would've been all the pleasure she needed.

When she got to the kitchen she was startled by the figure preparing breakfast.

In the kitchen, cooking and humming to the tune of "Dear future husband", was her cousin Venice. She stood there wide eyed and mouth a gapped.

She literally screamed 'bloody murder' frightened by the last person she thought would rather turn a vegetarian, came up and touched her from behind with a dead rabbit in her hand.

Awoken by the sudden outburst, the boys rushed downstairs to see what they never thought they'd see in this, the next or any afterlife. Venice Trailer in a kitchen, cooking!!; Daola Peterson, with a dead rabbit in her hand (which was shocking because she was a slim girl who loved food and said that she'd rather starve than hunt and kill anything because that was disgusting and she didn't want to get blood on her shoes and mess up her designers dress). And even more surprising, Tora Trailer, the girl who can't stand anyone in this little group, clinging onto Steven(who just came from chooping wood) for dear life shaking like mad and swearing that she was going crazy.

The two boys fell on the floor laughing so hard tears started falling down their face.

After composing herself, Tora cleared her throat, let go off a blushing Steven and looked around the room. The boys seemed to have realised it too because they had a confused look on their face.

In the living room was completely normal. And I don't mean the boys room normal (which looked like a pig sty by the way), but the room was clean. There were no shattered windows, destroyed furniture or stuff all over the place. Heck, the blood all over the floor and that stench from the night before was gone. They all stood wide eyed. Staring at the room like Michael Jackson has risen from the dead.

"What the heck?! Where have you girls been? I've been worried sick Daola!", cried Danny rushing into the embrace of his girlfriend.

"We're fine. We just went into town for awhile and came back", she replied.

"I was worried sick"

"You worry too much you worrywart", she punched his shoulder lightly with her bloody hand giggling as if she didn't notice the dead rabbit she had.

"Okay everyone. I've finished breakfast. Come an get it", yelled Venice. "How's my fav 'n cutest lil cuz in the worl' doin' on this fine morning", said Even with a smile plastered on her face.

Tora twitch at the sight of her cousin. She rubbed her eyes continuously refusing to believe what their seeing. Never before in her life has she seen her cousin behave like what she was doing now. She was stunned. Something is definitely wrong. This isn't real. It can't be. I must be dreaming. I really have a weird and twisted mind to be dreaming this sort of scene. She thought to herself. If this isn't a dream. Then they must've cleaned up the blood. But then, who was hurt? "Hey Ven?"

"Yes cousin dare"

Tora frowned at that. Definitely a dream. I'm positive. "What happened to blood that was on the floor? Did you clean it up?"

"What are you talking about? What blood?", she asked confused.

"The blood that was all over the floor. Was one of you hurt?"

"What? No. We weren't. Were you dreaming?"

"No I wasn-"

"Its fine Tora. Everything is fine. We're all hereto have fun and enjoy ourselves right? Forget about what you saw. It was nothing. Just relax and eat breakfast", said Ven with a voice that was so unlike her it only convinced Tora more.

What the heck is all of this? I don't feel like this is real, but it feels like this is real. How is that even possible? Something is definitely wrong here? But what?
