I woke up to the sound of my brother yelling.
"He's fucking camping!"
"Arghh."
I hesitantly opened my eyes and reached for my phone.
[12:20 pm]
After one more groan, I got up, grabbed a clean pair of underwear, and wobbled over to the washroom.
I came home late last night. Around two in the morning. After the fight, I scrolled through comments of some clips. Overall, the feedback and comments were great. Many enjoyed the show. I was sure that by next week I would pull in an astronomically higher number of viewers.
My stream was even climbing the ranks of the top trending news on the site.
I never expected that my very first stream would do this well. After all, the account was brand new had no publicity except a quick poster a day before the event.
Once my shower was done, I changed into black sweats, a white shirt, and a blue zip-up sweater. One with no hood.
My parents were out, so I had the whole couch to myself. I laid down and scrolled through my phone.
I opened my messages and saw that Danny, Avesh, Josh, and Ivan had all messaged, saying they called.
I had my phone on silent mode because of the stream, so I wasn't able to hear their calls. Wanting to know what they wanted to talk about, I called Avesh.
The phone rang for a couple of seconds before Avesh answered the call.
"Yo. What's up?"
[You finally called back. We were called an hour ago.]
"I was sleeping. I went to bed late. So what's up? YOu guys called like twenty times."
[You trying to go to a party tonight?]
"Whose party?"
[Alessia's. She invited all of us.]
"Sure. What time?"
[She told us to come earlier. So let's go around 7-8.]
"Alright. Sounds good."
[By the way. We're at the park by your building. Come out. Let's play some ball.]
I had nothing better to do. So I quickly agreed. [Okay.]
After I hung up, I put on my shoes and told my brother I was going out.
"I'm going out. I'll be back later tonight."
I then called my mom and let her know I was going to be sleeping at a friend's house. She wasn't strict with things like these, especially since she's known my group for years.
She quickly gave me the 'ok'. After thanking her, I made my way towards the park, where I saw the four playing a two on two.
I walked there and sat on the bench. While watching their game, I scrolled through my phone and saw the message Alessia sent.
It was on a social media app I didn't check too often.
[Come to my party later. I let the others know the details. See you!]
[See you.]
After messaging her back, I put away my phone and focused on the game.
Josh and Ivan were scoring more and we're overall more athletic.
The game soon ended, and they walked over to me.
I greeted them and they greeted back before we started a game. 'King of the court.'
Time quickly passed.
After basketball, we went to eat. After eating, we went to a mall and window shopped. Once we were done with the mall, we walked around the area. We laughed and talked. It was refreshing. And before we knew it, it was already 7.
The five of us took the bus and walked some more before we got to Alessia's house. Apparently, her parents were out for the weekend and she was able to pay off her babysitter to not say anything about hosting a party.
We got to her house at 7:40.
The five of us walked onto her porch and knocked on the door. Not even a minute after, the door opened and a familiar blonde came into view.
"Welcome. Come in, come in."
The five of us walked in. We were about to take off our shoes when she told us not to. We gave her a weird look. For as long as we knew, we always took off our shoes at someones house.
"Don't give me those weird looks. There's gonna be a party. You don't expect people to wear socks in the basement, do you?"
'Oh. A basement party.'
The realization hit me. No wonder.
"The rest of the girls are here already. Let's go to the basement."
While we walked to the basement, I commented on Alessia's outfit in my head. 'She sure is pretty. Even in my last life, many of our coworkers liked her.'
Alessia was wearing a white crop top with black tights. She also had a pink zip-up sweater over her crop top.
When we got down to the basement, we all scattered after greeting everyone.
I sat on of the chairs by the beverage and snack section. I poured myself some fruit punch and took a sip. I would've loved some alcohol but because of my current age, it wouldn't be healthy. Plus, it's not like Alessia had any on display.
One thing I missed about being an adult is going to a bar with some coworkers and drinking a little.
"How's the fruit punch?"
"It's great." I turned to the blonde beside me.
"So, what's up?"
Alessia leaned on the table and looked at me.
"Nothing. When is the party starting?"
"11."
"I see."
I took another sip from my red cup. Alessia continued to look my way and asked, "What did you do yesterday?"
"Nothing. Just sold some chocolates. You?"
"I went to the movies with Jacob."
"Cool. What movie?"
Alessia was visibly annoyed after I said that. Which honestly made me chuckle a little. 'You're not gonna make me jealous any time soon. Funny seeing you try, though.'
"A romance."
"That's nice. Romances are good. How did you guys like it?"
"Not bad. Pretty boring though. Action is still by far the best."
"Yup. After horror."
We spent the next five minutes arguing about which genre was better. It was fun and by the end; we were both laughing. After talking about a couple more topics, we all gathered and played a board game Alessia found.
The next hour and a half went by quickly and once people started showing up, we had to stop the game.
