I woke up the next morning to Avesh's leg on my back. I checked the time on the phone beside me and saw it was already 10. With a groan, I got out of the bed and carefully made my way to the washroom, in hopes of not waking anybody.
I made my way down the stairs and silently tip-toed through the hall.
Soon, I made it to the washroom. I locked myself in and did my business. After a minute, I felt like a new man. With a light step, I walked past the kitchen; it on the way to the stairs. However, there I saw Alessia fill a cup with water.
She turned around when she heard my footsteps and looked at me while taking a sip. "You're up early too, huh?"
I leaned over the counter before taking a seat. "It's not early. It's already 10. Do you normally wake up this late?"
"Are you kidding me? This is late? You should see how long my cousins sleep till."
I laughed. "Yeah. My cousins don't sleep, they hibernate. I still don't understand how they sleep till 3."
"Right? Like, come on. I sleep till 12 at most. But these guys could sleep for 16 hours."
"Haha. So, how'd you sleep?"
"Alright, I guess. You?"
"Not bad. But nothing beats my bed."
"True."
I was glad our conversations weren't too awkward. I still vividly remember interrupting her kiss. But since she let it go, I wasn't going to pay any more attention to it.
-----Alessia POV------
While we were talking, I kept thinking back to last night. He saw me kiss a guy. Shortly after telling him how I liked him. 'He must think I was joking. Or does he think I like messing around?'
I kept overthinking.
Would Damian, the guy who rejected me, care about me kissing another guy? No. Obviously not. Did I hope he would? Yes. The whole reason I really kissed him and started talking to him was to get over Damian.
I had only known the boy for a short period, but I felt like I was in love.
We had such good chemistry, but it ended up not working the way I wanted it to. Which was fine. I can't force a guy to get in a relationship with me when he doesn't feel the same way I do. That's just horrible.
Which was why I kissed Jacob.
Jacob was a nice guy. He was respectful, smart, athletic, and nice. I thought I could get over Damian with him, but after he saw us kissing, he kept popping up in my mind even more.
I felt terrible. I was playing with Jacob's heart and I knew that if I didn't leave those feelings behind and pursue something with the boy I was currently with, it would be even more unfair.
Which is I promised myself last night that I wouldn't see Damian the same way and distance myself from him. After all, I had to move on. And last night's talk with the girls opened my eyes.
Last Night-------
I was in my bed, along with the other four; the bed was big enough for all of us to fit.
The five of us talked about what we usually talked about. Boys. We were all young teens and that was the most important topic for us. At least at this period. Where all of us had someone we were interested in.
"Guys. Damian saw me and Jacob kiss."
The girls whipped their heads towards me. Some had expressions that showed confusion, excitement, and looks of surprise.
"'What. Tell us."
The sound of the four talking at the same time filled my larger room. We were some ways away from the boys, so we didn't care about making some noise.
"Well. You see. Jacob and I were sitting on the couch, facing away from the stairs. We kinda just went with the mood and kissed. Then we heard a creak. We got scared and turned around to see Damian standing there."
"What did he do? Was he shocked? Did he run away?"
Sara, wanting to know what happened next, asked.
"He apologized for interrupting us and asked where the washroom was."
The girls who had been carefully listening laughed.
It really was funny how the one guy I didn't wanna see us kissing saw it and instead of caring, asked where the washroom was.
"That's so like him. I can't believe he just asked where the washroom was. Hahaha."
Samantha laughed even harder. So hard that she comically fell backward.
"So, what happened next?"
"I took him to the washroom. Nothing else I could do." I answered Daniella.
"I know you're trying to move on, but you have to stop caring about Damian. If you can't, cut him off. If you keep talking to him, I doubt you'll get over him."
"I know Sofia. But that's too rude. He's way too nice for me to even try it."
"I doubt he'd honestly care, though."
We turned towards Sara.
"What do you mean?"
I was curious. What did Sara mean by Damian wouldn't care? We were friends, weren't we? Losing a friend is never a good thing.
"Has he ever messaged any of us first? Or even his friends. Josh always tells me how Damian never contacts them first anymore. He even said he rarely messages them. So, if he doesn't even message his best friends, would he message you?"
Sara was blunt. But that's what I liked about her. Still, it hurt getting told the person I saw as a good friend and even liked romantically would care about being cut off.
"True. He doesn't seem to care about us too much." Daniela pitched in.
"Plus, Jacob is a nice guy. If Damian isn't in the picture, I bet the relationship would sail a lot smoother."
"Guys. He probably doesn't like showing affection."
Not everyone could show affection. I knew a lot of family members who get uncomfortable doing so. Damian not being able to wouldn't be much of a surprise.
"Watch this."
Samantha took out her phone and showed a video of Damian dancing with Emma.
I knew her because of a friend. She was a friend of a friend. So we weren't close. Seeing the video of them dancing was an eye-opener. 'Maybe I really should cut him off for a bit and see things through with Jacob.'
