Chapter 27 - Shopping date

The bell rang, signifying the end of school.

*Ring

I excitedly made my way home. The thought of exploring the deep web made my heart beat extremely quickly. What things would I be able to find? Aliens? Magic? Slaves?

Well... definitely not the last one.

The deep web had many things I couldn't wait to learn about. So, when I got home and heard the Wi-Fi was down for a couple of hours, my heart shattered.

I had data, but I was saving every bit for the streams; the warehouse didn't have Wi-Fi.

That's when I got a phone call.

I let my ring tone play for a little before answering the call. The caller was someone who I recently got familiar with. Emma.

I answered the call, asking what she "wanted" in the most polite way I could. What I got was a laugh and a quick explanation of why she called.

"Hahaha. I'm at the mall. You should come. It's boring."

"Why did you call me, though?"

"None of my friends could make it."

"Fine. I'll be there soon. Meet me at the movie theater."

I didn't need to ask which mall she was at. After all, there was only one mall that was nice and big enough to hangout at.

After letting my mom know I was leaving, I left the house. I didn't have internet so there was no point in just sitting around in my room. That'd be boring.

It didn't take me long to arrive. It took only around 15 minutes.

I walked around the mall, searching for the movie theater. Once I found It, I walked up the stairs and saw Emma by the arcade.

I walked over to her, and when she noticed me, she ran over.

She spread her arms out, looking for a hug. Not wanting to be a dick, I gave her a quick side hug. "So, what do you want to do?"

"Lets shop around. I want to buy some clothes."

That was the start of our adventure.

The first store we visited was NL. She ended up not wanting anything, but she wasted forty minutes of my life.

The next store was called Laten. It was more of a summer type store. By summer type, I mean having more sundresses, shorts, and any other clothes you would wear during the warmer months.

We walked around the store, talking about ourselves and what we planned on doing over the summer. "Just chill" was my answer. My actual goal was to spread my name during those free two months and possibly grow the business enough to attract important people.

Once I had one person with even a little fame, I'd be able to climb higher using their connections.

It was a grand plan and something I knew I couldn't achieve right now. However, at the rate my business was growing, it was only a matter of time.

"I'm probably gonna go hiking. Also, maybe go on a trip."

"That sounds like fun."

We walked around a little more, and by the time we circled the store, Emma had a cart full of clothes.

Making our way towards the dressing rooms, I found a seat and sat down. Emma walked in and changed into her first outfit.

While she was dressing, I took out my phone and scrolled through my apps.

"I'm done."

I heard the door open and watched as Emma walked out.

My eyes widened as she walked out in a beautiful lilac coloured dress. 'Wow.' That was my only thought.

Emma was a beautiful girl. That dress she was wearing only amplified her looks.

"Looking good."

I gave her a thumbs up, making her smile widen. She turned around, making the end of the dress flap in the air.

"Thank you. Thank you. So, is it a buy?"

"Definitely."

I didn't even take a second to answer. The dress matched her that well.

"Time for the next one."

She walked back into the room and closed the door behind her.

I patiently waited for her to come out with her next outfit. And like last time, the clothes fit her well. Before I knew it, she was down to her last three outfits.

"Just change. We need to be at the place by 7."

I looked to my side and saw a boy around my age with black hair. His hair, like mine, was short. He was also more muscular.

'That guys pretty ripped.'

He sat down beside me; there was only one long bench in front of the many changing rooms.

"Girls are hard to shop with, huh?"

I looked at the guy and nodded. "It really is. Nice to meet you."

I put out my hand, and he quickly shook it. With a smile, he introduced himself. "I'm Gavin. Nice to meet you..."

"Damian."

"Damian. Nice to meet you."

When we shook hands, we both stood up. It was the polite thing to do when meeting someone.

"You're pretty fucking tall, bro. How old are you?"

"14 turning 15 soon."

"Damn, so you're only in grade 9? You're two years younger and already taller than me, haha."

"Thanks. But you're jacked as shit. What do you feed yourself?"

Both of the girls were changing while the two of us were talking about the gym, school and games.

Apparently, he started working out in the tenth grade. So he'd been at it for a while.

""How do I look?""

Both of the girls we were with came out of the rooms wearing something different. I looked at Emma and nodded. ""Very Nice."" Gavin and I said in sync.

The girls noticed each other and said "Hi" before turning their heads towards the two of us, who were casually talking like we'd been friends for years.

It's always amazed me at how quickly guys could become friends. Even in my adult years, becoming friends with a guy was as simple as saying "hello."

I turned my attention towards Emma, who quickly gave a turn. "It's definitely a buy. A million times better than the last one."

Emma walked back into the room with a smile and Gavin's girlfriend walked back in shortly after.

She had short platinum hair and had clear white skin. Overall, she wouldn't lose to Emma in the looks department.

"So, thats your girl? She's pretty."

"Nah. We're just friends."

I let Gavin know Emma, and I weren't dating.

"Was that your girl? She's pretty."

"Not yet. She still hasn't given me an answer. But yeah. She's beautiful."

I watched as Gavin, the muscular teen, drifted off into space with a smile on his face. Both of our shopping partners walked out soon after. Emma in a new outfit and Gavin's friend in the outfit she wore here.

"I'm done. We can leave. Thanks for waiting."

"No problem. Give me a minute."

While I was commenting on Emma's dress, Gavin walked up and asked me for my socials. "Lets keep in touch, Damian. It was nice talking to you."

I said goodbye and sat back down, waiting for Emma's last outfit change.
