The bright light in the room stings my eyes.
I blink repeatedly until my eyes adjust to the light. I see a face hovering above mine—Cyran's—and it takes a few seconds before my vision clears up. I have this terrible pain in the back of my head. Must've been from the fall. I remember everything that happened before my vision turned black; Donna, the pain deep in my gut, everything.
This is why I jump up from the bed when I see Donna standing beside him, holding that damned bowl of herbs. My voice is a croak. "Get her out of here! She tried to kill me!"
Cyran puts both his hands up, trying to appease me. "Look at me, Mia. It's okay. You'll be alright. She wasn't trying to kill you."
