"Is that the kind of pathetic life you wished for me, Amani?" Becca asked with tears brimming in her eyes when she was done pouring out her heart to Amani
If falling in love with a man will make my life miserable then what's the purpose of love!? Wouldn't it be better if I remain a happy single woman for the rest of my life!?" Becca asked again and a single tear slowly slide down her face.
Amani whose hand had been frozen with a french fried potato in it over her cup of strawberry shakes while Becca poured out her fears, let the potato drop inside her shakes and grabbed a paper towel. She then moved her chair from sitting across from Becca to closely beside her.
She cleaned her oily hand with the paper towel before pulling Becca to lean over her shoulder. Thank God, it was before the dinner rush hour, otherwise, it would have been embarrassing for Becca if so many people were around to witness her moment of weakness.
