Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

The Lycanrin was now getting stronger due to its berserk state and as a result, its thrashing grew more violent but still I remained firmly grasping on to its back due to the spikes on its back which were now stuck in my body due to the continuous healing of holy water that had caused my tissues to grow and attach and glue themselves to the spikes which caused me extreme pain every time the monster rolled as it meant having my tissues rip apart over and over again.

Considering the situation, this would be my last opportunity to kill this beast and hence using all of my strength, I tightly gripped the neck of the monster and chocked him with everything I had. At this point I had 120 points in strength and hence I put in 10 extra stat points from my unallocated stat points which greatly increased my strength to the extent that I could hear the crunch sound of the tense muscles in the Lycanrin's neck cracking under pressure.

{THE LYCANRIN'S HEALTH HAS DROPPED BELOW 0.5%}

The system was alerting me that the fight was nearing its climax.

Sensing that it wouldn't be able to shake me off and get to the shore at the same time, the Lycanrin dived into the lake and swam deeper towards the bottom of the lake in attempt to crush me underneath the weight of the water pressure of the lake as well as drown me at the same time. Even though the Lycanrin's health was below 0.5%, it was confident in its ability to hold its breath underwater which is why it had dragged me down here and the fact that it was slowly regaining its lost strength was making it even more confident.

Even though the holy water was healing my wounds, it was still very capable of drowning me because it was after-all in the end... simply water… and hence this was now a race against time to see who would last longer without air. After a few minutes of chocking and thrashing, the both of us were now at our utmost limit. I could feel the heartbeat of the Lycanrin growing weaker beneath me, but I couldn't rejoice as I could also feel my own heartbeat growing weaker as well, my vision getting darker by the second. As I struggled to remove myself from the back of the Lycanrin with whatever little strength I had left, I heard the system's notification.

{YOU HAVE DEFEATED THE LYCANRIN}

{YOU HAVE ACHIEVED AN IMPOSSIBLE FEAT}

{YOU HAVE RECEIVED 50,000 CHAOS POINTS}

{YOU HAVE GAINED AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF EXPEREIENCE POINTS}

{YOU HAVE LEVELED UP}

{YOU HAVE LEVELED UP}

{YOU HAVE ......}

"I see… This bastard is finally dead. What a relief…" I thought as I lost consciousness, my body being dragged further towards the bottom of the lake. The entire world around me felt dark and cold as If I was falling into a void devoid of any warmth or light.

'So, this is death' I thought as I closed my eyes embracing my fate.

{PASSIVE SKILL "CONQUERER OF DEATH" HAS BEEN ACTIVATED}

{YOUR HEART HAS STARTED BEATING AGAIN}

{YOU WILL TEMPORARILY REGAIN YOUR STRENGTH AND CONCIOUSNESS FOR 15 SECONDS}

I opened my eyes to find that I was still miraculously alive and with my newly gained strength pushed against the body of the Lycanrin, the spikes ripping apart my insides as I pushed my body upwards further and further until finally I felt the tip of the spikes leave my body. I then swam upwards in the direction of the lakeshore as the timer in my head continued counting down

{8...7....6...}

I was now swimming at top speed, the holy fire in the lake healing my torn organs over and over again since the resistance of the water waves in the lake kept rubbing against my organs causing them to rupture and bleed every time i swung my arms forwards in an attempt to swim. I was now almost close to the shore which seemed to be getting blurrier by the second and as i reached the shallow end of the lake…

{2.....1...PLAYER WILL NOW LOSE CONCIOUSNESS}

 I heard the countdown end and I quickly turned myself upwards to face the sky in order to avoid drowning before falling unconscious, my body slowly drifting over the surface of the lake.
