Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

The map also had numerous dots, aside from the one that showed my location, that were so many to the extent that they almost filled the entire map and they seemed to be constantly moving but the most distinguishing fact about them was that they were of different colors.

There were dots that were green, orange, red and gold in color. I had a suspicion as to what these dots may be but if my assumption were correct, then my situation just got a lot worse.

"What are these dots?"

[The dots on the map are as you have assumed. They represent the monsters that live in Azaelon.]

"Then why are the dots in a different color?"

[The color is used to represent their ranking. As you know the rankings of monsters range from F to SSS rank. The colors are used to show the rankings of the monsters that are around us. The colors define the ranks as follows…..]

[Green: F to D rank monsters]

[Orange: C to B rank monsters]

[Red: A rank monsters]

[Gold: S to SSS rank monsters]

[I would suggest avoiding the orange, red and gold dots on the map if I were you]

Her suggestion was indeed quite right because even though I had killed an A-rank monster, based on my stats, the monsters that I was capable of currently handling were mid-class C rank monsters and monsters of lower ranks. I would be able to take on a high-class C rank monster however since our stats would most likely be equal then there would be a higher chance of me dying to the difference in skill levels.

"By the way, you never told me your name"

The A.I thought for a moment before responding

[I don't have a name but If I was to choose a name, I guess you can call me Anna]

"Anna huh…" I pondered.

It was an interesting name after all.

"Alright Anna, nice to meet you again and well...glad to be working with you"

[I'm glad to be working with you as well]

"So, Anna, what do you think I should do now?"

[Well, I would suggest taking the heart, claws, fur and rest of the spikes from the corpse of the Lycanrin as they will be useful later on.]

I was puzzled, I thought that the tower automatically rewarded me with the useful parts of the Lycanrin.

[The tower simply gives you some of the important parts of monsters you kill however it usually expects you to get the rest yourself. It is usually a common misconception among new players in the tower that the tower actually does the work of looting the monster corpses which they usually come to regret later on when they discover the truth of how valuable the parts of the monsters they had left behind actually are.]

If that was the case, then I would have ended up abandoning valuable A- rank materials while believing in the tower's generosity if it had not been for Anna' guidance. It would seem that spending half of my initial stat points, despite increasing my chances of death in this place by at least 500%, in order to acquire Anna was now making more and more sense. It would be truly useful to have a personal assistant who had valuable information about the Tower and its many rules and mysteries.

"Thanks Anna" I thought with sincerity.

[No worries partner]

There was now a new problem. I didn't have a knife that I could use to cut through the skin of Lycanrin. All I had were the spikes which would simply ruin the fur of the beast as they are meant to pierce and not cut. Noticing my predicament, Anna offered some advice

[Why not make a dagger using the spikes]

Making my own dagger? I hadn't even thought of that. But according to my job class, I was currently a warrior so how would I be able to make a dagger which is usually made by people with the blacksmith profession.

[Making a weapon with attributes and special skills is something only blacksmiths can do however if it is to only make a simple dagger then most people should be able to make them as long as they are given the necessary guidance on how to do so.]

"Then do you know how to make one?"

[Of course, after all I know most of the Tower's knowledge and secrets including most of the production method of weapons. With my help you should be able to make a top tier weapon despite possessing the warrior job class.]

"Amazing" I thought in surprise, "You really are the best!"

[Laughs.....Of course I am the best]

[Currently you lack most of the equipment used by blacksmiths, but you can easily create them using the raw materials present in Azaelon]

"What materials do I need?"

[In order to make good daggers, you would need the following:

Dark wood which you can find in the Dark Forest. Dark Iron ore which you can find in the deepest parts of the Drazne mountains Normal Iron ore that you can find in most caves in any mountain Coal which can be mined from the floor of Lake Azaelrious High temperature flames which are already present on Lake Azaelrious.

]

[However, the Dark Forest and the Drazne mountains are the territories of mid and high class A -rank beasts hence you will need to increase your power if you wish to leave that place alive.]

According to the map, most of the green dots were located on the Azlin plain which is where I had been teleported to by Hades when I first arrived here.

"We should start by increasing my strength in the Azlin plains"

[Alright but according to my data, there are no F or E rank monsters in this entire area so the green dots on the map are most likely D rank monsters]

Damn… this really is hell. Even the monsters on the lowest level of the food chain were D rank monsters who could easily kill a hundred new players without breaking a sweat. However, I was now strong enough to fight C rank monsters so D rank monsters shouldn't pose much of a threat in terms of stats however the thing that I bothered me was the skills that these monsters would have.
