Fera never imagined that this day would come. Even just a proposal, the event held by these two families incredibly makes them happy, including the bride and groom.
The moonlight accompanied the girl who had just proposed on the balcony of her house, still with makeup attached to her face. She seemed to be very swept away in the clear night sky.
"Fera, Honey? Why are you here alone?" the guy's voice that Fera knew so well broke his reverie.
"Uh, Daf. I-i, never mind. Look! The sky is so bright!" replied Fera puzzledly.
"Hmm.. surely you thought about that again, huh?"
"Ah, no."
Daffa no longer asked about the incident during the proposal. He knew, one day, Fera would tell him the truth. Because now, Fera looks uneasy, and that's quite worrying for Daffa.
"Daf, do you think Feli is happy if we get married?"
'Finally, she will tell a story.' exclaimed Daffa in his heart satisfied.
"Baby. Because she wants the best for the people around her. Moreover, those people are us. Feli wants to see us happy."
"That's it? But how come she didn't smile, right? At least, she would smile at me. But it's not happened," said Fera.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Daffa asked confusedly.
"Ah, I saw someone. I was sure she was Feli. She stands far behind our family. At first, I wasn't sure, but when she turned around, I realized it was Feli."
"What are you digressing anyway? We all know that Feli was ..."
"She's dead, I know! But, I'm sure I'm not mistaken, Daf! That's why I feel miserable right now."
Who wouldn't be surprised to see someone who is gone come back and look at us? That's how Fera felt. How not, the figure of 'Feli' is dressed as her twin who is proposing.
Even more sinister, she looked at Fera blankly without a smile. Her expression seemed to be showing hatred, anger, and so on.
Seeing Fera, who was still glued at the time, Daffa had nudged Fera's elbow in astonishment. And now, he finally figured out why Fera behaved like that.
"So because of that? Baby, maybe you are wrong to see or hallucinate because of sophistication. So, please don't think about it anymore, huh?" concluded Daffa.
Fera nodded without answering.
"Hmm, ok. I will go home first to change my clothes. Take good care of your health, don't overthink. Ah, get used to reply to my dear call, please." Daffa passed after rubbing the girl's hair.
Indeed, all this time, Fera had never called him Honey, Baby, or any other call because she was not used to it. Ah, once. She pretended to be Feli at that time, not only because it is unusual but she is still a little burdened with the file's shadow that constantly haunts her.
All happened so quickly. Fera lived her day with a new person present in her life and gave enough happiness that she had never had before. After the proposal event is over, their wedding will be planned in the next few weeks, exactly two weeks away.
Daffa and Fera agree with their financial field. Fera can still run her coffee shop business if they are already married later. Daffa also worked in his office as usual.
Mr. Gunawan wants Daffa to continue the building materials store he owns, but Daffa is not ready yet. He is still comfortable as an ordinary office employee. He does not have the experience of managing a business on his own.
"Son, Daffa. Now Papa has started to get sickly often. Fera also has her own business. Papa hopes you will replace Papa to manage the store." asked Daffa's future in-laws.
"But, Pa. Daffa hasn't had much experience, fearing that it will not align with Papa's expectations."
"It's ok. Just learn slowly. For example, if occasionally you are on leave or off work, come with Papa to the store. Let you see firsthand how the practice. Papa also has an assistant who can help you later."
"Ok, Pa."
Fera had seen the conversation between her father and her future husband. He felt sad because lately, Papa is not as strong as he used to be because he may be getting older. Likewise with his mother. When Fera was in control of her Café, Mama always asked her to go home immediately.
"Fer, go home quickly. Let the house not feel lonely, and soon you will leave this house. You are still here, often at home, Fera," Mama told Fera.
Mama always throws that sentence to her only child.
Occasionally Fera imagined if she were married. Who are his parents complaining about at home? Who will take care of them if they are sickly?
"Daf, can we withdraw our wedding schedule?" said Fera's soft voice on the phone.
"Indeed, why? It's not because of yesterday's problem, right?"
"No, no. I'm worried about my parents' situation if I don't live here anymore soon," the girl replied.
"Baby, we are getting married soon. Everyone is going through that. Not you or just us. However, when they are married, most people are better off living separately with their parents or in-laws."
"Hmm, but my parents are kind, you know that. They won't do bad things to us even if we live hereafter marriage."
"That's not what I mean, but... ah, let's put it this way. After getting married, we tried to stay with our parents for one month. It's waiting for our house to be completed. So we can know what it's like, how to live with post-married parents, ok?"
"Ok, good idea."
Daffa always tried to give her best for her fiancé, and he was traumatized by the sudden loss of someone he loved. Therefore he never wasted time making happy people around him, especially those he cared about.
"Thank you, baby."
Embarrassed to express love to Daffa, Fera only dared to say it through a phone.
In addition, she never tried to find out the existence of Andi. She never got the slightest news from his best friend for many months.
Fera once contacted Andi's friend in America. However, it is still nil. His friend did not respond to Fera's question.
Even lately, she heard the news that his parents are difficult to contact.
'Where are you going, Andi? Am I doing something terrible to you until you were like this? But if I accept your love, I don't love you either. Will it make things worse for us?!'
Fera always said that when she was finding out about her best friend. While sliding his cellphone screen up and down, he frowned and didn't know what to do anymore.
