Chapter 14 - Andi's Presence

Riingg...

The sound of Fera's mobile phone ringing woke her from her sleep this morning.

"Yes, hello," said Fera, who was still sleepy.

"Where are you?"

"At home, who is this? It was a morning call," Fera said.

"You don't check who's calling you?"

Fera kept the phone away from her ear,

"Ah, you're Andi. Why? Sorry, I'm still very sleepy. So not focused."

"It's rare. Did you stay up last night?"

"No. My family and I had dinner at Daffa's house last night. It's a bit late. That's why I'm tired."

"Dinner?! Hmm... Did you have an appointment today?"

"I'll most recent survey the business premises this afternoon. Why, Ndi?"

"I'm coming with you, ok?"

"What do you mean?"

"I'll pick you up at eleven this afternoon. Just wait for me..."

Andi immediately turned off his phone and astonished Fera.

"Ck! this boy is crazy sometimes, huh?!" Fera said monologue.

Fera ignored Andi's message without asking further. Indeed, this afternoon she will survey one of the shophouses in the city center to open his first business by what she has dreamed of so far. She decided to start a business from scratch, just like her father used to do, instead of continuing his studies to college.

She was not suspicious at all because Andi was ignored as usual.

Knock... Knock...

"Fer, are you ready yet? Papa went first, ok. You've picked up, right?" Papa asked from behind the door of Fera's room.

"Huh? wait! Wait, Pa!"

Fera rushed over and opened the door to meet Papa.

"Pa, how come first anyway? I didn't pick it up!"

"That's the guy downstairs. Just look at it for yourself." Papa said with a chuckle.

"Who is he? Please don't do this, Daffa,"

Muttering, the girl was excited. She returned to the room to tidy up her hair for a while, which was still half wet.

Shortly after Papa left first, Fera came down the stairs while exclaiming,

"How the hell you are, diligently invite me, how this is happening? We're just having a meeting..." Fera stopped her steps when she saw a guy sitting in her living room instead of Daffa.

"Andi?!! How are you here? How come?"

"Hey, surprised?"

"When did you return to Indonesia? Why not tell me? Why is this sudden?"

"What do you care about if I tell you? Hahaha, it's a surprise. By the way, let's go now. Later in the day, I am lazy to jam in Bandung."

"Bu-but ..."

Andi pulled Fera's hand and took her to the car. This is the first time they have met again in so many years. Indeed, usually, he will tell Andi that he will return to Indonesia. Therefore, Fera was quite surprised by Andi's decision that suddenly came like this.

In the car, the two were still awkward with each other. Because the last time they communicated was when Fera was angry at Andi. Now, Fera was confused as to where she started the conversation.

"How are you...." The two of them talking together made the feeling even more awkward.

"You used to be," said Andi.

"Why the hell are you impromptu like this?" Ask Fera.

"It's ok. Why. Yes, want to go home." Andi replied to lie.

"Uh, where is the way? I forgot." Fera's best friend deliberately diverted the conversation.

Fera also showed the way to where she was going. Once there, the atmosphere became more fluid for a long time because they tried to talk to each other and share knowledge about business.

"Do you think opening a coffee shop business like this would be good for the future, Ndi?"

"The main thing that makes a business crowded or not yes the seller must be consistent. In addition to the location and quality of your store, consistency is the hardest thing for everyone to do. If it is crowded or not, every business must experience ups and downs in sales. Especially if it is just opened, at least one year you have to be patient first, only be able to return capital."

"Yes, my father said it too. Oh, my God!!"

"Why, Fer?!" Andi was shocked.

"You're here, and I haven't taken you to Feli's grave yet?!"

"Ah, I'm sorry. I forgot about that. After your business is done, we'd better go straight to the funeral. I almost forgot the last time I saw your twin. This incident is heartbreaking. I couldn't even sleep all night when you told me about Feli."

He has too focused on Fera. He forgot the great thing was Feli's departure. Suddenly, on the way to the funeral, the atmosphere became silent like never before. Both of them are both recalling memories when Feli was still around.

"This is Feli's tomb, Ndi." Point to Fera.

Andi bent his legs lower until his body was parallel to the tombstone that read 'FELICIA PUTRI GUNAWAN.'

"Hi, Fel. How are you? You must be happy up there. I'm sorry I just got to visit you today. I love you like I love your twin as my special best friend. Take it easy, I'll stay by Fera's side at any time, and I won't let her be sad."

Meanwhile, Andi's words made Fera shed tears.

She will always feel guilty for her twin after what happened at the end of this time. Andi immediately embraced Fera when she saw her best friend crying.

"Yes, Fer. Take it easy. I'm here."

"Thank you, Andi."

They also left the cemetery. Because it was late afternoon, Andi decided to stop by Fera's house for a while to talk to his parents.

"What if I stop by your house first?"

"Relax, Ndi. But does your mother know you're here?" Ask Fera.

"Of course, you know. Oh yes, about what you talked about yesterday on the phone. Is it true?"

"Which one?"

"About the matchmaking."

"Wait, I'll change clothes first, then we'll talk about it later."

Fera went to her room and cleaned up for a moment after almost half a day spent outside. Fortunately, Papa was already at home, so Andi had a friend besides Fera.

"How are you, Andi? I'm sorry this morning I rushed away, didn't have time to talk to you much." Said Papa.

"Ok, Om. It's ok. We just left."

"Do you feel like you're an American? Hahaha, " giggled Papa

"I don't feel at home, om. What is clear, miss the same Indo cuisine, especially mother's cuisine, hehe,"

"Don't you know there are also some Indonesian restaurants?"

"There's something, but it still makes a difference."

Andi and Fera's parents have known for a long time, so they have considered Andi as their child. Moreover, they don't have sons.

"Mr. Gunawan, there's something Andi wants to ask, but apologize in advance if Andi is sassy."

"Nah, relax, Ndi. Rich with everyone else. What do you want to ask?"

"Hmm... Is it true that Fer will be betrothed to Feli's ex-lover, Daffa?"
