Ethan keeps laughing and I look at him confuse. I really don't understand the sense of humor of these people, is it a werewolf thing?
Someone gets inside the tent; a beautiful tan woman walks towards Ethan's laughing figure. "someone's in a good mood" she says amusedly and kisses his cheek.
She looks like a really nice person, and just like him before I healed him, she has a significant number of ghosts behind her. "Is this her?" she asks looking at Ethan with a loving gaze and he nods, smiling at her.
She walks towards me and envelops my hands in hers, she looks at me with a tenderness I'm not used to "Thank you" she says with glossy eyes "Thank you for bringing him back to us, to me". I smile faintly. "You have a friend and an ally in me for anything you need" she adds and this time I smile slyly.
"Woah!" Ethan shouts "Don't say that! Before you notice you will be dragged into some weird situations!".
"Too late" I say calmly, and he shivers looking at me with caution. They already said they will help me with 'anything'. Time to use my new allies "Ethan, do you know about the situation with the Red River pack?" I smile warmly and he hangs his head in defeat.
"Haaaaaa... I'm a man of my word" he whispers "yeah, I know about it. That pack is power hungry like no other" I giggle at his words. If you only knew.
"They're the reason the rogues you were talking about earlier today are attacking near these territories, don't you find it weird that they're so organized? The Red River is using them" I explain, and he laughs.
"I already knew that" he looks at me amusedly.
"They need help" I'm looking directly into his eyes. The couple frowns.
"Hold on. I want to help you but are you going to help them?" the woman asks confused.
I look at her "I'm not going to. You are" I smile.
"mmmm... why? Why do you want us to help them?" Ethan asks.
"Because that's how I will get my revenge. I want to show Nick desperation and helplessness. I want to make his nightmares a reality, I also have a promise to keep" I explain while remembering my promise with Ben, the promise to destroy the man that betrayed him. Why destroy everything one by one when I can do it all at once?
"By now you should know I'm not a person of empty threats" I continue speaking in a calm voice.
"And why do you think we'll agree? We don't like to work with official packs" he's not glaring at me with hate, he's looking at me as if trying to assess me. Trying to figure out what he can get out of it.
"I see how they treat the rogues that join them, they might be using them for bad things but they're one of the few packs that do treat them as humans and not as monsters, don't you think that's a good mentality to use and spread? To use their actions as a message to the rest of the werewolves?" I smile warmly at him, and he smirks.
"And what would I need to do?" Ethan keeps talking.
"Join the Red River" I say calmly and they both gasp, looking at me in surprise. No matter what I'm saying now, he should understand, he should understand the real meaning behind my words.
"I think I can see where this is going but they will not accept us, I'm the alpha of this rogue pack but they only accept loners, bringing a rogue pack is too risky for them" Ethan continues while frowning "They're not going to accept a Rogue pack".
I deadpan at him "Why are you saying something so obvious?" I add nonchalantly.
"Then why did you even say it?" the woman asks curiously.
I smirk "They will not accept a normal Rogue pack" I add calmly.
"..." Ethan's pupils shake, he gulps and pales.
"But they will accept the Rogue King's pack" I continue, now the woman has the same expression as Ethan. I turn my head and face 'Ethan' "Isn't that right, Rogue King Aidan?".
"pffft" I hear 'Ethan', no, I hear Aidan laugh "pfft... ajajaja...jajajajajajajajajajaja! you knew from the beginning, didn't you?" He keeps laughing as if someone told him the best joke in the world.
I tilt my head and wait for his laughing fit to be over. "Deal" he says at the end. I smile.
I get up from the floor, my fatal wounds heal by now and dust off my pants. I'm still on my bloody sports bra and I hate the chilly air touching my skin, but I do my best to brush it off. "Then it's time to go back" I say casually.
"Wait! You're going back!? To that bastard?" he says worried, and I smile.
"Yes" my reply was casual and calm "what's the point of revenge if I can't enjoy it from the front seats?".
