There was a chill in the air, and I could feel the beginnings of winter. After waking up, Sarah heard rocks hitting her windows. She moaned as she opened her eyes. As she approached the window, she stood up. Outside, a man stood waiting. I was eating leftover lasagna in the kitchen. Bradley came into the living room and asked me where his tie was. "On the chair over there," I replied, pointing to it. Bradley oohed as he approached the chair. After clearing my throat, I put the lasagna back in the refrigerator. Then I went to the sink. I began to watch my hands. Sarah places her phone on her nightstand. After taking a shower, she gets dressed. I sighed and got ready for work.
It had been arranged between Sarah and me. She invited me to a friend's birthday party. I was looking forward to meeting them. She told me her name was Samantha. Samantha and Sarah have been friends since childhood and grew up together.
Sarah said, "Heyyy girl."
Samantha was hugged by her and I waited to be hugged next. "Samantha, I want you to meet someone." Samantha noticed me, "Hi, I'm Sam." I waved and smiled awkwardly.
Clearing my throat, I took a sip of my drink. Sarah and Samantha were still talking. I was standing in a corner, and I was waiting for someone to approach me. Eventually, a guy approached me.
"Sarah is very fortunate to have a boyfriend."
Despite my inability to focus on the music, the dude continued to talk to me. "I'm Jason," he said as he extended his hand. I also shook his hand.
After the party had ended, I waited for Sarah. As she left Samanth's house, she kept saying goodbye to her. As soon as she closed the door, I continued to wait. "Did you have a great time?" Sarah enquired. After I shook my head, Sarah smiled and we got in her car. She was driving a Range Rover, I wonder what job she holds.
Bradley said, "It sounded like a bad party."
In my case, I was plating some vegetables. Bradley and I were talking about Sarah's friend's party. "What's her name?" he asked. "Samantha." I replied, putting the cover back on the container. I took a bite of my carrot as I sighed. "Do you know if she's single?"
After the accident, Bradley told me that it was a hit-and-run. Who could possibly run away from an accident? I wanted to find out.
I realized that I am starting to be happy. I had reached my lowest point after Rebecca died. But Sarah, she was starting to make me feel things I had never felt before. We were communicating. It's been almost six months since we started dating.
Sarah said, "I want you to meet my parents."
"That sounds good."
Our tickets were purchased by Sarah and me. I attended the fair with her. Whenever I was a child, my parents would take me to the fair every September. On one of the rides, I remember throwing up. It got to the point where I had a churro and as soon as I finished it, I vomited after the ride made me dizzy.
Sarah's parents weren't too far from where I lived. They invited us to a dinner. When Sarah entered their home, she wished them a good evening. When her mother noticed her, she smiled. Sarah was hugged by her mother.
Now it was my turn to hug Sarah's mom. "Sarah had told me so much about you."
"It's so nice to meet you," I said smiling.
"You, too," said Mrs. Evans.
