Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: This is not a joke.

(Zane POV)

"Go Orville! I believe in you!" I cheered.

Orville and I are currently at the amusement park and we are having such a great time. It's been a long time since I have been to my last amusement park so this definitely brought nostalgia to a whole new level.

Anyway, I managed to convince Orville to play at the Bottle booth wherein the players who will try will be asked to throw a baseball across the pyramid of bottles. If all bottles managed to fall down easily, the player wins a ginormous stuffed toy but if one manages to still stand upright, the player will only receive lame pencil cases or keychains.

Orville cracked his neck to show he is readying himself. All of a sudden, he threw it with so much force like a baseball star, that it did not only make all the bottles fall, it also deflected off the net behind.

"Well done, sir." The lady said before giving him a large teddy bear.

"Hold that first." He said before giving her another dollar. "I would like to go again."

"Very good, sir!"

"This time, make it ten bottles." Orville said. The lady then began arranging ten pyramid bottles for Orville before handing him another baseball.

He cracked his neck one more time before throwing another shot. This time, all bottles fell down with a louder thud with the ball deflecting off the net and bouncing back at him. He caught it on the palm of his hand like a champ, resulting to a few applauses around.

"Excellent, sir!" The lady handed him a human sized teddy bear this time and Orville looks so cute because he's struggling in carrying those two bears in his arms.

"The kids are going to love this." Orville said.

"Why only two? You have three kids right?" I asked.

"This life size teddy bear is for the three of them while this one is actually for you."

I swear, when I heard him say "for you", words began getting stuck inside my throat. I couldn't formulate what I wanted to say. I don't know if I want to say "Thank you!" or "That's so sweet!" or "Really?" or "You shouldn't have." I am usually articulate with my words but when someone just flatters you so much or gives you butterflies, you really can't think of what to say.

"Wow Orville! Thanks, I appreciate it." I said as I cuddled it to my chest.

"Let's name him Zorville!!" He suggested.

"Are you trying to be subtle?" I laughed.

"No, I really want it to totally sound like our name combination so people will know that it's our baby. Zane plus Orville equals Zorville!"

"Very clever!" I said as I tried my best carrying it with my arms that are obviously not big enough.

"Let's put the stuffed toys in the car first." Orville suggested.

"Good idea!" I replied.

As I was walking with Orville, I noticed a beautiful lady in an all-black jumpsuit and a black beret staring at me with her arms crossed as if she was studying me or scrutinizing my movements. I tried to look around me to see if she was staring at someone else and I have just mistaken that it was me she's looking at but no! She really is looking at me. I began feeling uneasy when Orville wrapped his arm around my shoulder and called my attention.

"You okay?"

"Huh?"

"What are you looking at?"

I turned around to see her…gone. Where the hell did she go? In a span of a second, she just vanished. Is she a ghost or something?

"Nothing, I thought I just saw a friend." I replied.

The amusement park barely has people around anymore. It's about to close but Orville and I are still here enjoying and eating our favorite, Caramel apples.

Crunch, Crunch, Crunch

"I swear, caramel and apple are the best combination to ever exist." I said.

"You bet." Orville added before wiping some caramel from my lips with his thumb and licking it.

"Goodnight lovebirds!" The lady from the booth said before heading towards the exit gate.

"Goodnight!" Orville and I both waved.

"Zane, check out my jokes. What did the mother apple say to her son apple for his bad behavior?"

"What?"

"I am bappled by your behavior, young man!"

I smacked my forehead lightly before replying no to his cheesy joke. Seriously, can't I just eat my apple in peace?

"Here's another one, what will happen when two apples engage in a physical fight?"

"What?"

"They will grapple!"

I closed my eyes in annoyance and tightened my lips to contain my laughter.

"Okay, I have to admit. That is much better than the first one."

"Third joke..."

"Enough, Orville!" I laughed as I tried to cover his caramel scented mouth and he keeps nudging my hand away.

"One last, Zane! One last, I swear!"

"No!"

"One last! Okay, here it goes, what does the son apple say to her mother apple if his pancake is missing something?"

"What?"

"Mom, where's my M-apple syrup?"

I couldn't contain my laugh anymore so I just laughed out loud.

"Alright, enough!"

"I have one more thing up my sleeves."

"Orville!!!!"

"But this is not a joke, trust me! This is not a joke!" Orville kept on insisting.

"Fine, but if it's a joke, I swear, I will shove this apple down your throat."

"What will Orville say to Zane these next five seconds?" Orville said. This time, his face turned serious.

"What?"

"You are the apple of my eye."

I stopped munching on my apple and looked at Orville in his eyes. He gave me the most charismatic, the sweetest and the most handsome smile I have ever seen him do. I cupped his cheeks to plant a soft but passionate kiss on his lips. He responded with the same level of fondness. The caramel on our lips began mixing but I did not find it gross, I actually find it romantically sexy.

Day by day, Orville just keeps winning my heart more and I don't think I can take it if he were to be with someone else at this point.
