As Einar left the room with Zarug, the higher-ups of the academy looked over at them, with skeptical looks. They didn't do anything though, as they didn't want to anger the principal.
Outside the door, in the hallway. Einar stood in front of the Zarug and looked at him with curious eyes.
"First thing first, your talent is higher than what the crystals showed!" Zarug looked at Einar with serious eyes.
"Okay?" Einar had no idea why this mattered, in the end, it was nothing that meant too much to him.
"Second thing, all the people watching your test, were there because they heard of you black 'Aura'! They want to recruit you for the kingdom!" Zarug said, with a severe expression.
"Is that so bad? I can grow stronger!" Einar saw that Zarug was not looking too good when he said this. Einar could only see good things from it though.
"Yes, they will let you grow stronger quickly, but you will be an object of the kingdom ... You will have no freedom! Do you want that?" Zarug was serious, he did not want Einar to end up as a tool.
"N-No, I want to grow stronger to be free!" Einar said.
"Good, then if anyone like them tried to recruit you ... reject them! If they are going to try and made things hard for you, I will be there!" Zarug said as he looked straight into Einar's eyes. "You understand?"
"I-I understand!" Einar was getting a little scared. He did not know, that wanting to become stronger, was so dangerous. He did know it would be dangerous through monsters, but he had no idea that the kingdom would end up threatening his life.
"Good, I will send your schedule to your room later, So just leave, I will make an excuse for you!" Zarug said as he sent Einar away from the testing room.
"O-Okay!" Einar hesitated a little, but in the end, he went on his way there.
"Oh, before I forget ... As a new student of the school, you can go to the library and learn any skill from the first floor! Both for mages and fighter students, since you are enrolled for both!" Zarug said before Einar had gone too far.
"Okay, thanks!" All the fear Einar felt before, had disappeared at the thought of learning new skills. This was because this was the way to get stronger. He went straight to the library.
After a while of just walking, Einar thought to himself, he didn't actually know where the library is. He had not seen it went he went around to explore. All he could do was ask for directions from the other students.
He walked up to a student who had the back pointed at Einar, it was a person with short brown hair. From behind, it looked like a feminine figure.
"Uhm, excuse me ... can I ask you something?" Einar went up behind the student and asked a question.
"Of course, what do ..." Before the person could finish the question. They turned around and saw Einar standing there. The person knew Einar. "I know you ... you are the commoner who bumped into Ada ... right?" The person smiled at Einar. It was the girl that had gone up to Ada right after Einar had left.
"Uhm, Ada? hmm!" Einar was thinking back to the person he bumped into. "Oh yeah, the elf! Yeah, that was me!" Einar smiled back at the girl.
-Sigh- "You don't remember anything but her race ... really?" She was a little disappointed in Einar.
"Hehe, sorry." Einar smiled wryly while scratching the back of his head.
"Anyway, what was it you wanted to know?" The girl asked Einar.
"Oh yeah, I was walking to the library, when I realized I had no idea where it was!" Einar looked at the girl with an embarrassed look.
"HAHA!" She couldn't help but laugh, he was going somewhere he didn't know where was. How was that supposed to work? "At least you were on the right track, if you continue down this hallway, and turn right at the end, you will see it!" She said as she guided Einar.
"Thank you, I will see you!" Einar said as he started to walk in that direction.
"I guess, my name is Emily by the way!" She said as she saw that Einar was getting further and further away.
"Einar!" Einar turned around and replied before he walked to the library once again.
The library was at the end of a hallway. It had a huge double door, made of beautifully carved hardwood. At the moment it was open so that students could get in and out without trouble.
Inside the library, there was a huge amount of bookshelves filled with books. It was around 6 stories high, and you could see up all of them. The higher floors had fewer books than the lower floors. The lowest floor has the most books.
In the middle of the library, there were many tables where you could study the different books, you want to train in. There were many students there, and there was rarely space here.
Einar went into the library on the first floor, where he had been told he could find some reading material. there was no security on the first floor since everyone in the academy had clearance to be there.
There was a librarian though so that you could take books outside to train in them.
There were two things he wanted to find. Something that would enable him to fight for a longer period of time, and a spell that would help him on range.
The first section he went to, was the sword isle. It was the place where they kept all skills and techniques for the swords.
He looked around and found many different kinds of skills and techniques. Most of them were only a different kind of swords style, now a technique that would teach him a set of moves.
He was looking for a special technique, that would make him move swiftly since he did not want to use strength.
After looking for a technique for a few minutes, he found something that sounded good to him. It was called 'The Standards For Swordsmanship', Einar was a complete newbie when looking at swords fighting, he needed to have some foundations.
He started to read through the book and saw that there were only 5 different styles in the technique. There was something like a feint, which went into an attack.
There was one for closing in, where you held the sword over your head, where you strike down on the opponent when you are in front of them.
One for defense, where you move your body into the best possible defensive position, where you can defend from most angles.
Then there were two offensive stances. It was one where you have a few strikes, striking against the opponent. And another one, where you move to counter an opponent's move.
It is a very versatile technique, that could help in many different situations. It is nothing special though since it did not strengthen the user, it only used the strength of the user's body.
If you had one of the better techniques, it would boost the strength of your body, in the different stances.
Einar decided that he wanted this one, since his body was already quite strong, and he did not have the possibility to get some of the better techniques.
Now that he had something that could help him for a longer fight, now he had to find a spell, that could complement the technique he just found.
He did not look long before he found two books that were interesting for him. They were not ranged attacks, but they were spells to boost his speed and stamina.
He had decent strength, but his stamina was quite low. This could help him in the long fights, while the speed would help him Evade and strike faster.
He wanted to go train in the techniques right away. He went to the librarian and wanted to get the books with him.
"Miss, can I take these with me?" Einar looked at the librarian with a smile.
"Yeah sure, just show me your student ID!" The librarian smiled back at Einar.
"Uhm ...Hehe ... I haven't gotten it yet!" Einar smiled wryly and scratched the back of his head.
"Oh ... How is that possible? we are halfway through the year!" The librarian said while looking at Einar curiously. "Are you the student they tested today maybe?" She asked.
"I am!" Einar answered honestly.
"That's amazing! Unfortunately, I can not lend you these books without ID!" The librarian said with an apologetic look.
"Can I read them here then?" Einar asked, he was not about to not learn these things.
"Yeah, sure, go ahead!" The librarian pointed to one of the empty seats. "Good luck!"
Einar went over to the empty seat, and started to read.
