He looked at the straight cut he had made in the stone, it was exactly what he wanted. He had thought it might work, but he had never imagined that it would work this well on his first try.
Ada was standing at the side, looking at what Einar had just done. It was something that usually took people many days and tries to do.
Einar had barely tried for a night before he did it so perfectly. His cut was not full of explosive power, but it had a clean way of cutting. It was more finesse than pure power.
"Good, I succeeded!" Einar was ecstatic, this was the best outcome he could have dreamt of. "Now, I need a sword technique to practice ... I can not survive off this one skill!" Einar mumbled to himself, as he was thinking about his next move.
Ada did not know what to do, as she could not hear what he said, but she could see that he was thinking about something. '
"Hey, Ada ... I am going to the library, are you going to keep practicing?" Einar looked at Ada, as he asked.
"I-I'm going to join you!" She said a little flustered, as she was caught staring at him.
"Good, let us go!" Einar said as he started to move towards the library.
"En" Ada made a small nod and followed after Einar.
When Einar and Ada arrived at the library, Einar was surprised to see that the library was closed.
"How can it be closed?" Einar asked as he looked at Ada.
"It is pretty late, but I thought they would still be open at this time ... Sorry!" Ada looked at Einar, as she thought that she should have known about this.
"It is not your fault, I guess this means we need to get back and get some rest!" Einar did not blame Ada, as he just smiled at her.
"Yeah, let us do that!" Ada gave a smile to Einar as well and agreed.
"See you!" Einar said as he started to walk towards his room.
"See you!" Ada said back, looking at his back as he was leaving.
Suddenly he turns around, looks at Ada, and asks "Oh yeah, you want to train again tomorrow night?" Einar asked, he did enjoy her company.
"Of course, I will!" Ada was very happy he asked, she had enjoyed being with him today. They might not have talked, but she still felt it was fun.
"Good, then I will see you there!" Einar said as he started to walk away again. Ada had no time to say anything, as he was already too far away.
When she couldn't see him anymore, she turned around and walked toward her room.
The next day came quickly, as Einar was quick asleep, the training had been harder on him than he had thought.
He looked at the schedule for today, and it started off with the mage's class. In the afternoon he would have swordsman classes though. He could see that today was one of his long days, he did not mind this though.
He went to put on his robes before he went to the mage's class. Today was not an outside activity, it would be inside as they were being taught some theories on magic.
Einar really had no interest in these theories, he would much rather just learn spells and master them through battle, but he also did know, that the theories behind the magic were very important.
Einar was a little early to the class today, as there was almost no one in the classroom when he arrived. There was one familiar face there though.
"Hey, Einar! You okay?" Henrik yelled from the back of the classroom. He asked if Einar was okay, remembering the events of the race.
"Hey, I am fine! The nurse took care of the pain!" Einar said as he smiled at Henrik.
"That is good to hear! Come sit with here!" Henrik said with a smile, as he pointed to the empty seat by his side.
"Don't mind if I do!" Einar said as he sat by his said.
They started to talk the small talk by now. Einar was really happy to have gotten a friend like Henrik. He seemed like someone he could have a genuine friendship with.
The girls in the class only liked him for his looks and strength. While the guys in the class hated him because of jealousy. In all honesty, if he did not have decent looks, everyone would look down on him as a commoner, and some still do.
Henrik was different though, he was looking at Einar with genuine eyes, the eyes of someone who really wanted to befriend him.
"Hello everyone, it is now time to start class, so please take a seat and be quiet everyone!" Suddenly everyone heard a voice coming from the entrance of the classroom, it was Steve, their teacher.
All of the mage students went to their seats and sat down. Everyone respected the teacher a lot, he was a high-ranking mage, with some amazing teaching abilities.
"Before we start class, I want to remind you all of the tournament taking place two weeks from now!" Steve said as he looked around the room.
"Tournament?" Einar did not know what he was talking about, since he was new in the class.
Steve saw that Einar had a questioning gaze. 'Of course, he doesn't know,' Steve thought, since Einar had not been in the class since the beginning.
"Everyone already knows of this tournament! The only thing we need right now is to pick out the representative of the mage class!" The teacher said as he looked around the class.
"And Einar, you don't know about the tournament, I am assigning Henrik to tell you about it!" Steve said as he looked at both Einar and Henrik.
"Yes sir!" Henrik answered back with a small smile.
Einar did not answer the teacher, as he had already gotten his answer.
"To pick our representative, we will have to assess all of your strengths!" Steve said while continuing. "We are going to do that with a small tournament! It will be held a week from now!" Steve said with a smile.
*Sigh* "I have no chance"
"With a monster like Einar in our class!? ... I give up!"
"Of course, we would do that, just as Einar joins hour class ..."
...
All the students had lost all hope, as they remembered Einar. After Einar had fallen in the race they had the other day, the teacher had told all the students why he was sent to the infirmary.
They were all shocked at the sheer strength Einar had shown. They had all gained enlightenment on how weak they actually are.
Some of the students had also seen what Einar did to the boulder the day before today. They only saw it by accident because they walked by the windows. This made them realize that they were already way behind Einar.
"Come on everyone, how can you falter this quickly!?!" Henrik stood up and yelled. "Einar is stronger because he works harder! You saw at the race a few days ago how he went past his limits, while we all were just having self-pity at how hard it was!" Henrik continued, He was full of fighting spirit.
"I am also sure most of you know how he only recovered yesterday ... But he still went training at the night!" Henrik yelled out again. "Of course, he would be amazing, he is training way harder than everyone here!" Henrik continued.
All the students looked at Henrik with surprise in their eyes. They all knew these things.
"It is people like Einar we have to strive to be, someone that works hard, someone who never backs down, someone ... everyone can look up to!" Henrik was trying to motivate everyone. "I will not back down, I will work harder than I have ever done, I will do all I can to surpass Einar, and be the representative!" Henrik said.
"So! Who will train with me!?!" Henrik yelled to all the students.
A few seconds after he stopped shouting, there was dead silence in the classroom. No one said a word, everyone was taken by surprise.
"I-I am not talented ... But, I am with you!!" A student suddenly stood up as he yelled.
"Me too!"
"Me as well!!"
All the students stood up one by one, as they yelled out.
"Einar! You are now the class's number one enemy, how will you respond!" Henrik said with a provocative smile.
Einar was also taken by surprise, but this line from Henrik really made his passion burn. This was an opportunity for him to fight many strong students.
"HAHA! I will of course train ten times harder, and destroy you ALL!" Einar said with a ruthless tone, and you could feel strong pressure from him.
The class did not back down, as their pressure was equal if not stronger than Einars. Einar was quite excited for this to happen.
Steve was looking at the scene unfolding, especially on Henrik. 'It seems we have a leader in our class' he thought as he smiled.
"And here I thought I would have to put some handicaps on Einar, but it seems that is not necessary! HAHAH" Steve said with a laugh. "You don't have to come to classes until the tournament, go train! If you have any questions, you can come to me!" Steve said, as he walked out from the class.
