"I didn't expect it would be so easy to defeat one of the Keeper's of the Labyrinth." Phantom thought as he stood on the Lion faced creature.
"I thought the lion was going to be more ferocious than that you didn't even break a sweat Phantom Sir." The masked man said as he put away his needles.
"Of course Cain, I am one of the upper knights of The Order of Cipher after all." Phantom boasted.
"We have already been in this Labyrinth, for 2 days and a half how much deeper do we have to go."
"Not much longer Cain, it will all be worth it when we reach."
{In the Serpent keeper's Chamber}
[I guess I will have to get a little creative if I am going to get close to beating this Serpent.]
Rein cast an enhancement spell on his body as he tapped into the remaining Feralite mana he absorbed.
Rein threw his dagger at the Feralite Serpent but it dodges them and starts to blast mana beams at him but he narrowly dodges them.
"Ignite!" the daggers blew up as debris from the celling began to fall on the Serpent immobilizing it.
"Got you." Rein says as he goes to break the gem with his Katana.
The Serpents tail came from under the ground surprising Rein as it wrapped around him.
"Wind Blade!" Viden spell strikes the gem causing pain to the Serpent, Rein uses this opportunity to jump onto its head and absorb all the ominous mana from the gem.
Rein closed his eyes and purified the mana adding it to his own pool of Mana.
"This much mana would send someone crazy with power." Rein Ponder.
"Is it Dead." Mais says as he slowly moves from behind the boulder.
"I think so." Viden answered in an annoyed tone.
"We should go and check if Rein is Fine." Mais suggested as Viden sat on the dusty and slightly damped ground.
"You can go ahead you're the only one with any sort of healing spell."
Mais made his way to where Rein stood over the Serpents motionless body, in that moment Viden intensely stares at Rein.
"How have you become so different Rein, I can't let you get any further away or else you would be out of reach." Viden pondered clinching his fist tightly.
"I couldn't even deal the finishing touch what much is a set up if you can't end it, if Viden didn't cast his spell I wouldn't even be here standing." Rein frustratingly thought.
"Are you okay Rein you have been staring so intensely at that gem." Mais observed.
"I am fine I think I just have a couple bruises, ahh!!." Rein said as he winced in pain stumbling to the ground.
Mais quickly examined Rein body, casting a spell as green light shined from his hand onto Rein's injuries.
"You also had a broken Rib, and you seem exhausted but that spell should of fixed up your rib and bruises we can rest here until you recover from exhaustion." Mais noted.
"I have no problems with that."
[I guess purifying that much Mana took more out of me than I thought it would.]
"Thanks, Viden." Rein said as he lowered his ego.
"Don't let it happen again weakling, any way what are we going to do with the gem of the serpent it looks pretty valuable." Viden responded changing the subject.
"You might be right a poor commoner like me can't miss out on this chance it might get me enough money to afford some expensive things." Rein smiled at the thought of the gem being valuable.
Mais cautiously removes the purple gem from the serpents forehead, the moment he gets it off a bright light shine as the body of the serpent disappears.
"Look over there the door opened up." Viden observed.
"We can explore there after some needed rest." Rein stated.
{Misty Café Sleekcrest town plaza}
As Claire and Lot reach the door of the café they were met by an unexpected person.
"Princess Keia I didn't expect you to be roaming around the town and without any escorts." Claire observed.
"I am not alone Desiric is probably watching me from a far, I hope I am not too forward but are you two on a date?" Keia asked.
"Of course not me on a date with him." Claire answered not hold back.
"Ouch I have feeling's you know." Lot responded but is ignored by the two girls .
"Then I guess you're here to figure out if Rein is here as well." Keia guessed.
"You could say so, I didn't think you and Rein were close Princess Keia." Claire Remarked.
"You could say we have started to become good friends, and can you please drop the Princess it's so stiff we are all the same age here."
"If you say so."
"Can you two take the conversation inside we have been standing in front the door for a while."
"You're right let's go inside." Keia replied.
As they made their way inside the scent of freshly baked pastries filled their nostrils as the décor set a calming atmosphere.
"Keia you've come back." Ron said as he stood behind the counter
"Nice to see you again Ron." Keia greeted with a gentle smile.
"Who are these two with you."
"We are Rein's Friends Claire and Lot." Claire indicated.
"I didn't think he would be the type to make this much friends, yet again he has been a lot more confident and optimistic lately, anyway what can I get for you guys."
Claire ordered a jelly filled donut with a frosted chocolate shake, while Keia ordered an ice tea with a sliced strawberry cheese cake cake while Lot just order some hot Coffee.
"This taste so good, am I right Keia."
Keia smiles and shakes her head in agreement.
"Have you forgotten the reason you dragged me here." Lot argued.
"Of course not."
"Excuse me Ron, do you perhaps know where Rein is." Keia asked.
"He didn't tell you guys he sent a message saying he was going to the King's Labyrinth on a mission, for a couple days." Ron replied.
"What!!" the three say in utter shock.
"Achoo!"
"You better not be catching a cold weakling."
"Relax I haven't caught a cold in a long time." Rein replied.
