"You guys ready to continue onward," Mais uttered.
"As I will ever be." Rein replied.
The trio approached the open door which began to grow in size as they got closer.
"Woah this room is huge," Viden observed.
"There is a stone plaque here, it says those who are embodied here have made many sacrifices to overcome the trial and challenges of their time, Welcome to the Hall of Heroes." Rein read out loud.
Glowing blue light began to shine illuminating the room as statues became visible.
The Trio was engulfed in utter shock and amazement at the details of the statues, lining the room.
"They're some many of them if I was to guess I would say around 80 statues," Mais noted.
[This is the sort of discovery that gets my heart racing, back when I was on Earth I use to watch those archeology TV shows which would always intrigue me.]
"Mais when was the last time the kingdom launched an expedition deep into this Labyrinth." Rein Questioned.
"From the records, I saw when I was researching on the Labyrinth it says that they haven't been down here since 150 years ago."
"No wonder the place is full of monsters," Viden added.
"I knew they hadn't come down here in a while but I believe places like this should be preserved and intensely explored, this Hall tells the story of many of our ancestors."
"You are right Rein, but all the higher nobles have been focusing on international affairs, filling their pockets and now with the Order of Cipher."
"Well I am glad, I could see this place in the flesh."
A silhouette pass at the side of Reins' eyes, he turns but doesn't see anything.
"What happen Rein?" Mais asked
"Don't tell me you are starting to see ghosts." Viden mocked.
"That silly I don't believe in such things, I think we should split up and explore the room for a while."
They were statues of Heroes from different backgrounds from Kings and nobles to common folks.
As Rein explored he felt a mysterious force pulling him to a statue far in the right corner there stood a man holding a book.
This Mage knight was a genius beyond his time he was King Brane Yearl's most trusted comrade in the War of Formation, His name was Rein.
"This is unreal I have the same name as this legendary hero, the mark on this oval-shaped rock under his feet looks familiar." Rein Observed.
Rein touched the rock, as he did so his vision became blurry as he fell to the ground.
"What happened just now," Rein says as he catches himself.
"Rein, Viden you got to see this!!" Mais shouted
"Coming!"
"This door seems like the only way to progress farther I can also sense a huge energy source behind it, the only way to open it is with some key that has to fit into the wall."
"That shape is the same as the gem from the serpent, so I am guessing that must be the key," Viden stated.
"Aww I thought I could sell this gem to earn extra money, well I can't let greed prevail." Rein moaned
The door opened into an empty room where a green glowing Orb floats in a hole in the back wall as it feeds mana in the channels of the wall.
"That must be the source of the big mana spike," Viden noted.
"Yea, I am going to get a closer look."
"Go ahead Mais we will wait here."
Mais made his way up the stone stairs, as he began to appraise the orb with a spell the wall in front of him began to crumble to dust.
Revealing Phantom on the Other side holding the stone.
"It seems we have some company," Phantom says in a cold tone.
[That mask seems familiar, wait that's like the one that red hair man had on.]
"Mais get out of there he is dangerous!!" Rein warned.
Mais felt the menacing aura around Phantom as he stumbled backward, he is pushed off the stairs.
Rein reaches just in time, saving him from a fatal fall.
"What do you mean he is dangerous?" Viden questioned.
"If my hunch is right he has to be one of the members of the Order of Cipher can't you feel the menacing presence around him."
"Those are the guys the weakling and some other students fought against," Viden said as clenched his fist.
"What are you doing Viden."
Viden charged Phantom with a stone sword to aid in his attack, but the moment he goes to slash at Phantom his stone sword is instantly destroyed by Cain.
"You are not worthy of Phantoms time weak boy." Cain boasted.
The two doors were shut tightly the moment the stone was removed.
"How are we going to get out of this now the doors don't seem to have a key slot to open it."
"It probably was made to trap whoever took the Orb inside, but why would The Order of Cipher want it," Mais replied.
"Cain can you get rid of these three rats maybe then the door would open."
"Understood."
Cain grabbed Viden's throat slowly choking him as he struggled to escape his grip.
A dagger came flying at Cain's arm and head, which causes him to lose his grip on Viden to parry the Daggers with his needles.
As Viden began to retreat back balls of blue flames hurdled at the two masked men but they've easily dodged them.
"You're the blue flame kid who fought against Valaine and survived," Phantom noted.
"What if I am." Rein said as he stood next to Viden who kneeled to catch his breath.
"Then this should be good training for you Cain, though I still think he won't win."
"Viden the only way we can beat monsters like these is if we work together." Rein urged.
"This whole mission has shown me how weak have gotten compared to you," Viden remarked.
"That serpent fight showed me that I still have a far way to go as well but I believe if we both work together not as enemies trying to bring down each other, but as rivals trying to push each other we can win."
Rein stretched out his hand to Viden who hesitates at first but accepts it
"I can't believe I have got Rein of all people to tell me what to do, Haa let's do this," Viden answered
