Chapter 1 - First Day of School

The first day of school has arrived. Excited students were all over the place as they reunited with their previous classmates while hoping to be in the same class as their friends.

Here in the Sherfield Province, there are dozens of schools from kindergarten to college. In Sanlow city within Sherfield, there's a particular school that's different from the others.

This is LeiSan High School. Others term this school as a 'delinquent school' for its lawless-like state. All the problem children were enrolled in this school.

"Do you remember me, Bunny?"

"Irh…! H-hello, Galeno…"

On their way to LeiSan High School, a boy who stood a little over five feet tall was ambushed by a group. Led by this group was Galeno, who had his arm over the boy's head,

Bunny already revealed a depressed expression upon encountering this group.

Galeno looked at his friends and laughed.

'Watch this, watch this!' he expressed at them.

"Bunny, I lost my lunch money just earlier. Can you lend me yours?"

"Galeno, you're so clumsy. Good thing we saw Bunny over here!" the other friend laughed.

"Umm…" Bunny's face clenched. He's not dumb and was aware of the situation.

'I have to say no. No, Galeno, you haven't paid any of the money you borrowed from me last time!'

Bunny was filled with determination. He looked at Galeno and was about to give them a piece of his mind, but…

"Hm??"

Galeno looked down on him, staring Bunny directly into his eyes.

"... here, I hope… I hope you pay them back later."

Bunny gave the money.

This made Galeno and his group burst out laughing as he took the money.

"Thanks, Bunny! Gosh, you're just so cute! I'll definitely pay you back later!" Galeno said as he and his friends went ahead laughing.

"What a great day. I wouldn't worry about my lunch money anymore!"

"Looks like someone's going to treat us."

"No way in hell, this is mine!"

"Come on~!"

Bunny hatefully glared at Galeno and his friends. His imaginations went wild, from killing to torturing them. But, in the end, he couldn't do anything. Bunny depressingly sighed at his weakness.

'I guess I'll have to make do with his little money again every day this year.'

"Sorry for prying, but…."

While he was grieving about his situation, a person suddenly came up to him. Bunny looked and saw a tall man with a hood over his head, wearing lightly shaded glasses and a face mask covering his nose and mouth.

"... I don't think that guy is going to pay you back later." the man said.

For a moment, Bunny thought this was an adult, but looking at the man's outfit, they wore the same school uniform.

"Ah, yeah?" Bunny nervously replied, not knowing why this man was telling him the obvious for him, "No… umm, maybe he will."

'Is this guy here to make fun of me too?' he had a different tone in his mind.

"Maybe? You lent your money even though you know that guy wouldn't pay it back?"

The man's question made Bunny more bitter.

'I knew it. He's here to make fun of me!'

"You're such a kind guy." the man then said, startling Bunny.

'Huh? What is this man saying?' Bunny looked at the man and couldn't tell his expression behind the mask and glasses.

"Ah, I forgot. Hello, my name's Keith Anton Estal; you can call me just Keith, Anton, or even just An. What's yours?"

Question marks popped out of Bunny's heads when the man named Keith offered his hand, seemingly expecting a handshake.

'So formal! Wait, no, is this a new way to mess with someone!?' Bunny had enough, but seeing Keith's tall stature. He had no choice but to shake the hand.

"My name's Van." Bunny introduced himself.

"Van? I thought your name's Bunny?"

"N-no… that… is just my nickname."

"Ah, I see. Well, good meeting you, Bunny."

Before they knew it, they've arrived at their destination, LeiSan Highschool. The two then separated as they looked at the board to see which class they were in.

'Outstanding. I cannot believe that I've met a kind guy the first day of school.' Keith smiled behind his face mask as he found that he was in Class 1-C. There are three levels Class 1, 2, and 3. There are four different sections: Section A, B, C, and D.

'Lutze said that this school is a den of delinquents.'

Like an average school, there's a canteen building, staff building, and the student building. Entering the first student building, Keith looked around and noticed that every student was a little too talkative, making a cacophony of noise. But that was it.

'I expect this place to be filled with law-breaking students, but I guess Lutze and the rest were exaggerating.'

Arriving at Class 1-C, Keith saw someone familiar.

"Ah…"

"What a coincidence, Bunny. Are you in this class too?"

"Y-yeah…" Bunny nodded. Intentionally ignoring Keith, Bunny entered the class without any more words.

'He must be excited to look for his seat. As for mine….'

"What? Hey, look, Bunny's our classmate!"

In the noisy classroom where every student has a lot to catch on with, someone shouting was not eye-catching.

Hearing this voice, Bunny let out a cold sweat. With hesitation, he looked and saw that Guleno and his friends were in the same class as he was.

Meanwhile, Keith found his seat at the very back of the class near the window. When he was about to sit, someone called him out.

"Wait, that's my seat!"

Keith stopped in his tracks and looked at the girl who shouted at him. This girl had her bangs covering her eyes, so Keith didn't know he was being glared at. He also doesn't know how she can see her surroundings with that hair either.

"Excuse me?"

The girl walked up to him and demanded, "Sorry, but that seat is mine."

"I see, then I'll sit over here." Keith adjusted without any problems, stunning the girl.

"O-oh… thanks. I thought you were going to fight over it. This is a sweet spot for special people such as myself, after all." the girl said while putting her bag on the side and sitting down.

Keith raised an eyebrow. But before he could ask anything, their teacher entered the class and immediately silenced every student.

Even the nosy Guleno properly sat down and zipped his mouth.

Their teacher was no less intimidating. He looked around and nodded in satisfaction with a stern face and a sharp mustache.

"Hello, students. I will be your class advisor, Adren Reomal. You can call me Sir Adren."

The whole class was shocked. They had heard of Sir Adren even when they were just at their middle school. He's strict and cruel to students not taking the class seriously. He gives real punishment that will bring shame to mischievous students.

In front of him, no one can mess around!

"This is bad… haha…"

Keith heard the girl, his seatmate, mutter. He wonders why she would say that. Unlike most students here, Keith didn't go to middle school or even primary school. He only learned what school is like through books and media.

"Later, you will all attend the entrance ceremony at the hall. For now, I want you all to introduce yourselves to me and… hey, you, are you a robber, why are you hiding your face like that?"

Sir Adren then pointed at someone in the class.

'I've had twelve years of experience in this school. The students are a mess here. If I don't show how tough I am, they will show no respect!' he thought and found his target.

Keith looked around and noticed that he was the one being called out.

"Me?"

"Yes, you. Are you deaf? Why are you wearing shades inside the classroom?"

"Sorry, Sir, but these are not shades. They are prescription glasses with a little tint." Keith replied.

'Prescription glasses with a little tint? I didn't know there are such glasses….' Sir Adren thought and let it go as he walked over to the student with the steel ruler in his hand.

"Then how about your mask? Are you sick?"

"I don't like dust."

"Hrm… then at least remove your hood." Sir Adren arrived next to Keith, realizing what the situation was.

'This kid is blatantly going against me. I know these types of kids. They think they are cool if they don't follow the rules and listen to their teachers. Bah! I'll shape this kid up in no time!'

Thinking about this, Sir Adren noticed more about Keith that he could target.

"Also, all of your fingers are wearing rings. Is that the new fashion nowadays?"

"No, Sir Adren, I need these rings." Keith removed his hood to show his silky black hair and ears equipped with an additional three smaller rings each.

Not just Sir Adren, everyone thought that Keith must be fond of piercings and rings.

"Remove them. Too many accessories for males are against the school rules!"

"I can't, Sir Adren." Keith shook his head in response, making his classmates intrigued by what will happen next.

"And, why is that!?"

Sir Adren began to increase the volume of his voice. He placed his metal ruler on Keith's desk in an attempt to intimidate this student.

Keith was about to answer but stopped himself.

'Wait, this should be a secret. Lutze and the others have told me that normal humans conceive everything beyond the physical properties and laws of reality as supernatural. Only weird humans believe in the supernatural, they told me.'

"Because…"

"Because…!?"

"... I like wearing them." Keith said, startling everyone except for Sir Adren.

'He's looking for trouble!' Bunny thought while Guleno was enjoying Keith going against their teacher.

Sir Adren knows this as his cue to punish this student, "Do you think I'm joking with you, brat!?" he raised his metal ruler and swung it down, hitting Keith's head.

It's not a heavy hit, but that hit would sting since the ruler is metal.

"Now, remove your accessories before I bring you to detention!"

'I can't hurt him more than this but this should tell him I'm serious.'

Sir Adren thought that hit settled it.

"Did… you just hit me?"

"Hm?" Sir Adren then realized his metal ruler was held by the student. The grip was so strong that he thought the ruler was stuck between large rocks.

Keith stood up and pulled the metal ruler from Sir Adren's like taking candy from a baby.

"Hey, what are you-!"

Pak*

A crisp sound echoed in the room as everyone's eyes opened wide.

'He…!' Bunny almost jumped from his seat while Guleno leaned forward, thinking if he had witnessed the scene wrong.

The girl seating beside Keith gasped in shock. This guy just slapped Sir Adren with his ruler on the cheek!

It took Sir Adren a few seconds to process what happened before his face went red from shame and anger. He charged forward and grabbed Keith's collar.

"What's your name!? I'll bring you to the principal, how dare you-"

Pak*

"Don't you come near me or I'll-" Keith said as he swung the ruler again.

Pak*

"- hit you. You're beginning to irritate me."

'But you already hit him twice already!' the whole class internally reacted. Although Sir Adren had blocked the second strike, he got angrier as time passed by.

Realizing that this student is a true rebel, Sir Adren knew what to do, 'This kid's going to have the worst punishment!'

"And to answer your question, my name's Keith Anton Estal."

"Keith, huh!? You're going to regret thi-... wait, Keith?" Sir Adren found this name familiar, "Keith Anton Estal." he muttered before he got a flashback.

[Sir Adren, you will be having a special student in your class. His name is Keith Anton Estal. Please-

I know, principal, I know. No matter how much of a rebel this student is, I'll straighten him up.

No, Sir Adren, this one's really special.

You always say that principal and oh, look at the time. I'll be going now.

Wait-]

Sir Adren's flashback was interrupted when the school bell rang.

"Hrm… I'll remember this, Keith! Now, every one of you, form a line and orderly walk to the hall! Now!"

Sir Adren knew that this type of kid wouldn't listen so he didn't tell Keith to come with him to the principal's office. He's not so low as to break a fight with a student.

Knowing that their teacher is in a bad mood, the class listened and orderly made a line.

"Oh, you forgot this, Sir Adren. Thank you for understanding that you shouldn't hit me like that." Keith returned the metal ruler and went to join the class outside.

Sir Adren stood there, stunned before he realized-

'He misunderstood the words 'I'll remember this'!? How!?'
