Chapter 4 - Major Factions

*Read the auxiliary chapter: LeiSan School Rules to keep up. It's super short, don't worry.*

"Flora, your SSC President, has already discussed this, so I'll go over the extra details." Sir Adren then explained the rest of the rules and punishment.

Going over the details raised many questions in the class. One raised her hand and asked, "Sir Adren, what d-does 'grades 10%' mean here?"

The girl blushed a little after stuttering on a simple question.

"Well, I understand your confusion, but it literally means just that. If you're tutored by a top student, they can give you tests and activities. They have the privilege to score you, which will be reflected on your card, and the school will not question it."

Sir Adren further explained, "As for the 10%. It means the top 101-250 students will have the power to decide the 10% of their tutored student's Subject Grade."

An uproar sounded in the class.

"Hey, work hard so you can tutor me!"

Friends were already making plans when Sir Adren quietened them with a cough. The same girl from earlier raised her hand again.

"Um, but Subject Grade is only 40% on our Total Grades, but why can, for e-example, the Top 4-10 students grade 200%?"

"Good observation. That just means that any student within the Top 10 can at least tutor five students and give them 40% each." Sir Adren answered.

This incited a bigger uproar in the classroom. They pleaded with their smartest friends to work hard.

Meanwhile, Guleno and his group of friends awkwardly look at each other.

"We three are dumb as fuck…."

"... how unfortunate."

"Why am I friends with you two dumbasses." Guleno sighed.

Others have begun noticing the titles given to the top students.

Elites, Officials, Nobles, Royals, and Monarchs! Isn't it too cool to get any of that title?

That's when a missing detail caught their attention. They all looked at the girl who raised her hand twice already. Feeling the pressure, she raised her hand and asked, "Sir, what about the Top 1-3? I think the details about them are missing…."

She sighed in relief as she didn't stutter this time. However, her voice was rather weak.

"You don't need to concern yourselves with them yet." Sir Adren simply replied.

"Why is that, Sir?"

This time, the one who asked was Keith. The occult girl immediately backed away when Keith took all the attention for the third time this morning.

"..." Sir Adren harrumphed and had a different tone when answering Keith's question, "That's because no freshman could even reach the top 100. That's why it's unnecessary."

"Wait, does that mean the ranking is for the whole school?"

"Then we have to compete with our seniors?"

"I think it's fair since they would have harder subjects to work on, right?"

All these questions popped up right after. Sir Adren has to cough again to silence them.

"You don't have to worry about that first. On that note, you have to worry about these tests first to get your rankings temporarily."

On the bottom of the box that Sir Adren brought in, he took out test papers and distributed them. Learning about the rankings, the students were hyped. But after looking at the questions, they were left scratching their heads.

Some were elementary knowledge and even common knowledge, but past that were questions seemed to only be found in college exams…

After the test, morning break came in as Sir Adren just collected the test papers and met another teacher who told him, "Sir Adren, the principal wants you to come into her office."

That teacher then took test papers for them to be checked immediately. When Sir Adren came into the principal's office, he found that the beautiful SSC President and her 'tutored students' were there too.

"You called me here, Principal?"

"Yes," Principal Allesa sternly looked at both the SSC President Flora and Sir Adren before she spoke the important matter, "Didn't I tell you that Keith Anton Estal is an important student?"

"Agreed," Flora nodded, surprising the people behind her and Sir Adren, "every person is special in their own right."

"I'm not joking!"

Principal Allesa slapped her desk, stopping the chuckling of a man with colored hair behind Flora. A big man beside him hit this man's head. After a single glare from the principal, the five people behind Flora went out of the office, leaving four of them there, including the silent secretary.

"Don't misunderstand, Principal. I'm not joking." Flora replied, "I just think that special treatment does not fit the school values. As per the first rule of the school, grades are everything. He's worth what he's ranked no matter who he is."

"I agree with Flora here, Principal." Sir Adren vigorously nodded.

"No matter what you say, or what this school stands for, you cannot offend that boy. I don't want any of this happening again." the principal then pointed at the SSC President, "Flora, I didn't stop you earlier because we didn't want others to see that we're treating one boy with extra privileges but don't ever do that again."

"I didn't name him, Principal." Flora reminded.

"I know but that's beside the point. You don't want to offend that man."

"May I ask, Principal, why?" Sir Adren got straight to the point.

With a grave expression, the principal answered, "Because the people behind him cannot be offended no matter what."

Sir Adren was puzzled and glanced at Flora. He knows that this is a sensitive topic for the SSC President but he still asked, "Even the Kaur Family, a Queen-level can't offend those people?"

Flora squinted her eyes towards this teacher when he mentioned her family into this.

"Absolutely."

The principal's answer stunned both Sir Adren and even Flora. She then continued.

"Now, you understand. This whole world, Beos, is split into, and ruled by, three major factions; the Realm Government, the four churches, and the three cults. You should know this."

"Y-yes, principal but why would any of the three cults send someone of their own here?" Sir Adren immediately asked as his face paled.

"My thoughts exactly!" Flora strongly followed.

"I can't give you the details because I don't know it myself. He may be an apprentice or a child of a high-ranking official there but the fact still remains that the Cult After Beyond have contacted me for this boy to be enrolled here and that's why I told you he's special!"

Sir Adren almost fell onto his knees as his strength was taken away by the principal's words.

"A-after Beyond…" he muttered in fear.

"So don't do anything to the boy. Keep it fair on the surface but never make personal provocations or offenses, does the two of you understand?"

"Yes, principal." both nodded weakly while Sir Adren greatly regretted his actions.

'Out of all the people, it had to be him that I targeted earlier…!!'

Before they exited the office, the principal asked one last question.

"Sir Adren, are you sure that Keith just slapped out for no reason?"

"..." Sir Adren gulped, "Y-yes… principal."

"Good. You can go now."

Morning break ended and the test results have come out as early as that.
