Chapter 39 - I apologize.

It was time to be mature Charity decided, that was why she held her resume and walked into all the restaurants and day bars she knew. She needed money to support herself as well so she needed any job she could get, even if it meant she would have to become a waitress she would do it. Besides she needed to get herself busy, she had been thinking about Absalom so much it was not good for anyone.

"You say you have experience working at a bar?" The manager said and she nodded.

"If you take a look here, I actually went to a school for that, I am a certified bartender so i have the license and everything."

The manager nodded and she smiled, "We actually do not have a bar at the restaurant but we are planning on opening one in a few weeks." A few weeks? She did not have toilet paper or even cereals to eat for dinner today, she certainly did not have a few weeks to spare she needed to start earning now. But she also did not want a situation where she seemed so desperate and she would suffer a lack of respect and a salary reduction because of it. The manager already seemed impressed by the fact that she had a license and a certificate but just her pride did not feed her did not means she completely throw it away.

"That is quite a while, I must tell you that I do have other offers" in other words a few more interviews "but I would prefer to work here" because he was the only other person that gave her the time of day.

"That is really bad, I would not want to lose talent like yours"

"Exactly why I would love to work here, this a new and fancy hotel with exquisite customer service and staff ethic, I would be a wonderful addition. There must be something else that must be open that you can use to keep me here for the time being?"

"We actually do not have a sommelier? We hired someone but he has not yet arrived in the country, he had some problems with his visa and work permit, he is a foreigner you see" The manager said and she just kept nodding as if she sympathized with his problems.

Thank you the embassy and the strict immigration policies, "that would be perfect for the time being, I really shouldn't be taking the job but I really do want to work here as well. Shall we talk about the pay then?"

He felt even worse allowing her to go away on her own, no one said anything and they didn't need to he knew he was too harsh. That realization made him even angrier, why did he let himself make a mistake? Worse she did not come back, just what was wrong with that woman? Fear gripped him thinking of her trying to get home by herself. It was a private resort, cab did not come here either.

After looking all over the resort and not finding her he decided to wait a bit, his stubborn pride refusing to allow him to call. He knew if he called he would have to apologize, he was in wrong anyway. But it had been hours and she still was not back, did she managed to leave?

Sebastian was just on the verge of calling the Charis when he saw her walking into the parking lot. She was not looking at him nor was she aware of him so he could stare at her properly. She looked angry, she was mumbling to herself, and every few steps she would stop and kick her heel into the ground. Was she finally going to say something? Stand up for herself? He wondered, ad it was that curiosity that prompted him to call out to her.

"Miss Sweeney!" He called out and she turned to face him, she looked surprised when she saw him then the annoyance seeped into her glare. Her nose flared and her lips pressed tightly.

This must be it, he thought to himself, "where have you been? Do you know how long I have been looking for you? I gave you orders to go clean yourself up and you spend hours?" He said, noticing the way she fisted her arms by her sides he knew she was about to blow.

"I am sorry, it wasn't my intention. I was carried away by my emotions, I apologize."

What the hell?
