Synopsis

Prologue

I was 5 at the time. Playing with my siblings, eating, and sleeping were my sole activities.

As time drifted by, I turned 6. On that birthday, my father, Karsz Woods let me in on something important.

"Yomi, in four years you'll be attending The Kiiro National Martial Arts School. You are at the age in which your element should have matured and been materialized. " He had paused. He then resumed:

"In a little bit, your brother, Hyuss, will come pick you up and take you to The Yearly Kiiro Trials at The National Element Testing Institute." Was what he said that day.

I only nodded and complied obliviously, unknowing of what "Element" is.

I have never been to school before. My mother had been teaching me everything aside from martial arts, and my father helped me practice. No one has ever taught me about theory and the sorts.

My family tree originates from a noble family called "Kanz", but my father broke the connection with the main family and made his own branch, "the Woods family".

After Lunch, my brother gave me the signal, and I knew that it was time to go.

After a long walk, we finally reached the institute. There, my brother dropped me off -- People who aren't going in for the examination aren't allowed unless they are staff members.

Inside, I saw a lot of people standing in a lengthy line. I had to wait for various tiring hours.

When my turn was nearing, I could finally see how the examination was taken; The examinee would put their hand on a massive sky blue crystal, and from what it looked like; poured their soul energy into it. A certain color would then appear, and the examiner would tell them what element they possess. So far I had heard of five;

Water: Darker blue

Fire: Orange

Wind: Green

Light: White

Earth: Brown

When it was finally my turn, the examiner said.

"Are you familiar with controlling your soul force?"

I nodded.

"very well, go ahead." Said the examiner with a nod and a smile.

I put my hand on the crystal, shut my eyes and slowly filled it up with my soul force. I began hearing numerous mumbling voices all around me with some occasional gasps here and there.

I opened my eyes, and there I saw. The crystal had turned into a dark mysterious purple.

"This is a surprise! A shadow element has appeared before us! It's been three thousand years since the last! Hail!"

Praised the examiner.

I began trying to quickly swallow back all of my soul energy, but as I was taking it -- only a split second, a flash of white thundered inside the crystal. Most were incapable of seeing it.

I stood there, spaced out. The pressure of the gazes from the people behind crushing me with the weight of Thor's hammer.

Before I began to sprint out -- Away from the intense pressure -- The examiner grabbed my wrist firmly and whispered loudly to me:

"Magnificent! You're a duel element! Your other element is that of light. Your talent will surely bring peace to the world and lay the Kodokuro empire to rest!"

The examiner let go of my wrist and moved his hands spastically, shooing me away.

"Go on! You will grow into a fine warrior one day!"

I slowly turned around and started to run. A whole load of feelings possessed me -- Embarrassment, joy, excitement, and confusion.

I didn't find my brother outside. I assumed he had already gone back home.

It was night when I had finally reached home. I reported the results to my father; he was delighted.

"Get some sleep, tomorrow we'll wake up early and we'll begin intensive training. You shall become the symbol of peace for Kiiro!" Said my father with a sparkle of hope and expectation in his eyes.

It had been the first time I'd ever seen my father smile genuinely.

The next day, I woke up at 5 o'clock in the morning.

my first training was to learn how to control my inner energy.

Before I even knew it, 4 years had passed by in a flash.

I mastered control over both Shadow and Light. I can also throw a punch with the weight of 20kg without breaking a sweat.

I was prepared to begin my studies and go to TKNMAS. (The Kiiro National Martial Arts School)
