Chapter 1 - Beginnings

I was finally at the school gates.

As I looked around, I noticed someone standing right in front of me.

A girl with blonde twin-tailed hair, red eyes and a petite build.

"Hello! You seem new around here. Welcome to TKNMAS!

I'm part of the student council. If you may, please follow me.

You need to be tested in order to be put in your recommended rank of studies." She said with a bright smile and turned away partially, looking back at me, waiting for my response.

I nodded and followed her.

We walked down a beige coloured path surrounded by beautiful green grass with flowers and fountains.

When we reached an intersection, she turned around, bowed and signalled me to my left.

"You're here."

The Scenery broke into a red-carpeted path and tall-standing pillars with stairs on the sides leading to the rest of that part of campus.

All I knew was that I had to keep on going down the red-carpeted path.

After taking some steps, I found myself in a large empty hall with various structures or what seemed to be power-measuring tools.

In front of one of the measuring tools stood a tall old man with big luscious eyebrows and plain grey robe.

"Welcome! Don't be intimidated by these unfamiliar machines, you will only be needing to look at this one." He stepped aside and revealed a wooden block with a simple counter on it.

00.0kg was what it displayed.

"This machine measures the weight of your punch. It is quite basic -- all you have to do is just punch it. This will determine your study rank."

I walked up to the wooden block and rested my palm on it.

I thought that if this were to determine my study rank I should start from the bottom since I have a very shallow knowledge.

I closed my eyes, completely relaxed my muscles and restrained my soul force. I quickly opened my eyes and punched the block as lightly as I could without it looking fake.

The old man looked at the counter.

12.3kg was displayed.

He raised his head to look at me.

"12.3kg. That assigns you to the lowest grade -- Stone.

Class begins tomorrow. You can go home now." said the old man with a slight hint of disappointment.

I nodded, turned away and walked out without showing a hint of weakness.

the school's ranking:

Stone: 0-50kg

Coal: 51-120kg

Bronze: 121-500kg

Copper: 501-1000kg

Silver: 1001-5000kg
