The next day, excited, I opened my class's door.
I brought with me a bag with a small notebook, a pencil and eraser.
Inside was a room with various desks shaped in a semi-circle towards a big chalkboard.
It was empty. I had been early.
I manoeuvred my way to a seat in the middle of the class and dropped my bag on top of my desk.
I sat and waited for someone to come in.
After some minutes, a person with red pony-tailed hair, glasses and a large feminine build entered the class. She wore a white shirt having the top opened revealing a red shirt from underneath and a black skirt.
"Ah, it seems someone is already here this early."
She turned around and closed the door, walked towards the teacher's desk and set her bag on it. It seemed like she was the teacher.
"Hello. What's your name? I've never seen you before. You seem new here."
She crossed her legs and waited for my response.
"Hi, my name is Yomi. I was chosen as a student with the rank of stone."
I said in a stiff manner, clearly uncomfortable since I have always been at home with minimal social interactions.
"Interesting. You seem to be capable of more, what a shame."
She said in disappointment.
She coughed and continued.
"My name is Sakina, your martial arts teacher."
She paused.
I nodded slowly.
"Ah! I almost forgot. Today we will hold a class tournament to determine the different class levels.
Since you're new here, I will have to explain thoroughly:
Each month a class tournament is held and it will determine your level in the rank.
There are 5 levels:
A B C D and E
The weakest go to E and the strongest go to A.
The person to come in first in the tournament, meaning they had beaten and eliminated everyone else in the tournament gets the choice to move on to the next rank."
I nodded.
The room grew silent and awkward.
I opened my bag, took out my notebook and started to note down all that she said.
After some time having passed, the classroom got filled up with students and mumbling voices.
The teacher then stood up and hit the chalkboard with her oversized ruler.
"Listen up everyone! Last week you were informed on this week's tournament! You should all be ready. Let's go to the fighting grounds."
"Wait...fighting on my first day? I thought the tournament was going to be organised in some wholesome way...This is going to be hard. I have to pull my punches back as much as possible if needed."
I thought to myself anxiously.
I knew I had to get to class E to bat in the basics of theory.
the "arena" was shaped by large cement blocks stud to each other forming a grid-like surface.
(AN: search up "dragon ball tournament grounds" for reference)
There was a whiteboard located by its entrance.
PRELIMINARIES
block 1: Zadd vs Yomi
block 2: Miku vs Akari
block 3: Hyuss vs Jodellia
(AN: MC's sister is Jodellia)
....
It kept going.
I was surprised to see my brother and sister to be here, all the way down at stone, I guess we all think similarly.
It will be interesting if my sister beats Hyuss during the preliminaries.
I chuckled to myself.
