Jenna was doing better than she thought she would after the world came crashing down and it was almost entirely due to Bryce's efforts to get her involved in things that would keep her busy but also potentially become a new passion. Meeting with Killian and finding out about her new restrictions as a permanent member of the program had been a devastating blow.
That was why she finally told him a version of the truth about what was going on with her. She wanted him to understand that she wasn't being difficult on purpose.
He had seemed a lot more relaxed after that. Telling him some of what she was feeling made him feel better for some strange reason. But hey, whatever made him happy. She wanted him to be happy more than almost anyone and apparently she did that for him.
