'Pregnant, huh?'
After providing a helping hand to his mother, he had found out this tidbit of interesting information.
He wasn't exactly sure if what he did, his attempt at comforting his mother, had worked at first. He wasn't the best at this kind of stuff, however, she seemed to be okay. Her sadness and previous attitude of despair had vanished and replaced was overwhelming affection. She had hugged him for almost an hour afterwards, just holding him, and had seemed to recover because of it.
The way she looked at him had changed. Before she gave him loving glances, but seemed to have other things on her mind as well. Now, whenever she looked at him, her pupils gave off an illusion of hearts. It wasn't lust or anything weird like that, more adoration and affection. He could feel the love emanating off of her. She just wanted to be near him, holding him and pampering him. Fortunately for her, as long as she let him have a book in the process so he could keep up with his research, he had no problem with that. He enjoyed being pampered in fact.
He decided not to think about her sudden obsession and outbreak of love. It wouldn't help and he felt he would notice if it went too far. There was nothing sexual or predatory about it, though he didn't know if that would change in the future, he felt it was best to just let things be. The odds of her harming him were negligible, and, honestly, he preferred the change. Rain had a hard time trusting people, so being able to clearly see it, and it be so evidently not faked made him feel better. He hated all aspects of NTR and even if it wasn't specifically NTR, just being led on and then betrayed made him feel similar.
After their little hug session, she still clung to him. It would seem that she was not going to let him go easily... or ever. Once again, as long as she didn't get in his way, he was fine with it.
He had decided to ask about why she was sad, and, though she didn't give him a direct answer, she had told him about her pregnancy. A little sister.
He would be lying if he said he wasn't a bit excited. Not because he wanted a little sister, but because he saw an opportunity, one he had wanted in his previous life.

No it wasn't raising a child to be obsessed with him. Fucking degenerates. He wasn't into manipulating children's minds.
What Rain wanted was to impart his knowledge. He felt that he had learned a lot about how the world works and how to deal with people. This knowledge was brought about by various mistakes and embarrassing situations. He had always wished that someone had told him these things, but no one ever did. He had never wanted a child for the normal reasons, but having one to teach about the world, if only so that he could have someone to talk to about his ponderings, excited him.
This would solve any issue that might arise from his mother getting concerned about him spending too much time alone. At the same time, perhaps his mother would stop clinging to him so much. Rain wasn't a solitary being anyway. As long as they were reasonable, he could certainly enjoy the company of another individual. A good debate/discussion, was something he enjoyed every once in a while.
He had decided, for sure this time. He would spend his years with his mother and sister. He would get all the knowledge he could and impart his life experiences and judgements in an unbiased way onto his sister at the same time. He would not leave the courtyard or give anyone any trouble. It would be for the best if everyone forgot that he existed.
Rain knew that, inevitably, there would be a reckoning. He would be remembered. Eventually, the king would probably gather his wives, concubines, and their children. Probably because of pride, but Rain and his sister would be included within that group so he would have to interact with them. He would cross that bridge when he got to it. Their was only planning and speculation at this point.
'I've got time.'
Time was fine. Rain liked having time. And time indeed did pass.

[A/N: assume mc is 9 and little sister is 7 after timeskip. I know the timeline's a little weird, but just go with it. I'll give an update on what has passed over the years next chapter. Expect a bit of degeneracy and a new arc... I think]
