Sati was glowing.
I wasn't saying that her skin looked flawless and shiny. There was light surrounding my mate's body. Looking at it wasn't blinding or painful; it covered her in a protective shield. I don't know how to describe it, but the light was part of her but wasn't. It moved around her body like water, changing colors as I watched. Yet, that wasn't as fascinating as Sati herself.
She had always been beautiful, but now that beauty felt otherworldly. Looking at her felt like you weren't supposed to without punishment. Her features seemed more delicate, flawless, and soft. Instead of finding her with burned-off hair, it looked like it had grown back even longer, the brown and blonde highlights even more evident. A thin blanket covered most of her body, but her arms and shoulders were bare, exposing perfect skin. She was perfection, made by a god instead of born to mortals.
