As shocking as it was to see one of the most ancient beings who exist, I can't stop myself from focusing back on Hel.
Having her so close is torment. My jealousy demands that she be on my arm, not her brother's. She looks so beautiful tonight, and I know she wore this dress for me without anyone telling me. It calls to me, tempting me to strip it off her, letting it fall to the ground and take what I know belongs to me. Yet, I can't deny the difference in her.
With that crown on her head, and the gems reflecting the blue in her hair, she looks like more than any other woman here. I could call her many things in all our time together. Beautiful, brilliant, cunning, mischievous, and gentle, but no one would assume she was a royal of any caliber. That wasn't an awful thing. Unlike many chief's daughters who knew they were important, Hel didn't care.
She was always more interested in getting to know the people and playing with the young children.
