The appearance of the maid's corpse strengthens the growing anxiety of Hero.
Upon the sight of the headless maid, he immediately vomits onto the floor. It terrifies him to the point of near mental breakdown.
He has never encountered such a grotesque image before. The blood, the gore, they are real. It is not just some pixel of censored graphic, but an actual crime scene. This is the reality he has to see. Everything from the stench, to the dark red color, is just horrendous. These are what the police officers would see every day, and they are just disgusting.
All of his life, both this current life and his previous one, has been peaceful without a doubt. There is no struggle, no misfortune. Japan was a civil country. The most he has ever seen was a small wound after his first biking experience. He has never even seen bone protruding from one's arms. In this regard, Sam is considerably better than Hero. One has suffered countless injuries, while the other only knows of them via novels and TV shows.
Suddenly, Hero feels dizzy. His vision quickly diminishes as flashes of light start to flicker. With each flash comes, next to it would be the absence of light, just like light bulbs increase then intensity before turning off. Gradually, there is nothing but darkness in front of him.
He sees nothing but hears the ringing sound.
*Ba-dump ba-dump*
Hero's heart beats faster than ever.
His legs wobble, they cannot withstand his weight any longer than this.
He is going to lose consciousness.
Hero needs to get to Bianca, but he just can not. His mentality is not nearly strong enough to be unfazed by this situation.
There is nothing that can be done anymore.
*Thud*
The Hero, the hope, the dream of Nohin, collapses on the floor just like that.
While Hero takes his time taking another nap in the hallway, in Bianca's office, the maids have all gathered alongside Marie.
When they first entered the room, it was obvious that many of them failed to keep calm since their faces got pale instantly. Still, they had proper training since they are the maids of Bianca's household, which was the reason why they did not just faint.
But Marie did. She lost her consciousness just by seeing the blood on the wall.
The fact that she was so mentally weak but almost decided to kill Sam with her own hands is nothing short but a paradox. The influence of the Hero on his lovers is just illogical.
In the corner of the room, one maid is making a call to someone important.
"We are here for you, My Lady. We are here now. You are safe." One maid that has been in the room comes close to Bianca.
The rest of them quickly pull the headless body of the man out of the room, creating a trail of red. Then, out of nowhere, they bring in the mops and cleaning liquid to start dealing with the place.
From the center of the room, splashes of red and white are evenly distributed. It makes the place look like a blooming flower.
A blooming flower of human flesh.
"We will clean up this place for you, My Lady. Let us head back to your bedroom." The maid pulls her master.
The first thing that they need to do is to get her to safety. This is evidently an attack on Lady Bianca. And if the attacker is still around this place, there is nowhere safer than the bedroom. They have protocols. This is absolutely the time to implement them.
"Uwaaaaaaaa!" Bianca cries loudly. Her arms hug one maid with all of her might. The leftover brain matter is smeared all over the maid.
She loses her usual collectedness and dignified manners. Instead, that composure is now just plain fear and stress.
She is no princess. Just a person in an extreme state of anxiety.
Her body loses its control as it trembles violently. Her arms are barely holding on to the maid. And her make up even though was recently done by them, has been entirely spoiled by the blood of the deceased, and her tears.
The esteemed princess wails and sobs. What just happened in front of her very eyes was something no one would ever be comfortable with.
"Please, My Lady. Please follow me!" The maid says while trying to keep her voice as calm as possible.
However, the tremblings in her voice prove otherwise.
"He...*sob* he just...his *hic* h...head..." Bianca struggles to find the words.
"Please do not say anything if it is too hard for you, My Lady."
"It...it...*sob* blew...up...I'm...*sob* scared. Help me...*sob* help...me...Hero." She calls for him.
The maid bites her lower lip upon hearing that. When they heard her screams, they all went here. Lady Bianca's screams were loud, after all.
He should have come also if he were in the building. If not, then no one knows where he is right now.
"He is waiting for you in the bedroom, My Lady. Let us go to him immediately." The maid tells a white lie.
What is more important right now is to keep her safe? The Hero can wait.
"Of...of course!" Bianca's eyes light up a little. Her mental state improves slightly after knowing Hero is waiting for her. "Take...take me to him!"
The two head out of the office. A dozen of maids then circle them like bodyguards protecting a celebrity. On their hands are protection spells like Ice Shield.
Bianca's body lights up. Someone casts on her the Defensive Aura.
Right behind them is Marie, still unconscious, who is accompanied by one maid only.
"Faster. Faster. I need to see him. He will protect me! Just like he did before, he will do it again for me." Bianca mumbles to herself.
"Yes. Yes. My dear Hero. The only God I believe in. You are always the light. You will end all of this nightmare. Yes. Yes. Of course. Why would it be any different?"
The closer she gets to the bedroom, where Hero is supposed to be, the more anticipation she has.
However, contrary to the normal Bianca, this Bianca right now is not stable. She was in a state of distress, and now it is changing to something like a euphoric feeling. There is no bridge between the two opposite sides of her feelings.
In short, she is not thinking straight.
"What are you all doing, blocking my view? I want to be able to see his beautiful perfect face. Let me go first." She says to the maids in front.
"But, My Lady..."
"Who are you to stand in my way? Step aside. Now!!"
"Yes, My Lady." They give way. The circle of maids turns into a U-shape, traveling down the hallway towards their destination.
After walking for another while, Bianca finally sees it. A familiar figure of the one she has been hoping to see.
There he is, still perfect with his golden hair, on the floor with another headless corpse. There is vomit surrounding him.
He looks...peaceful.
"H...Hero?" She stares at the scene, completely stunned.
"Hero is dead? No, no. It can't be. He must be asleep. Yes. That's it. Asleep only. This must only be a dream. Just a nightmare. I just need to wake him up. Yeah. Just a dream just a dream just a dream..."
"Y...you there...go ch...check...check on him!" Bianca points at a maid. Her knees shake vigorously.
"Ye...Yes, My Lady."
The maid checks the pulse on the neck Hero and lets out a sigh of relief.
"He's just sleeping, My Lady."
"Ah. Good. Very good. He's fine. Go grab him. Wait. No. I'll go. I'll bring him back to the bedroom and nurse him back to health. None shall touch him except for me."
"What about this...um...maid, My Lady?"
"I don't see anything but the Hero. What are you talking about? You girls should get back to work, you know. I want croissants and milk."
Bianca moves forwards and starts pulling Hero away.
"Heave, ho. Hehehe. Hero, you are so heavy. Let's go back to our love nest. Let's have tons of fun after waking up. This has all been a tragic nightmare. But it will all get better once we wake up. Yes, once we wake up. It will get better." She smiles and laughs.
"Let's eat croissants when you wake up. I'll feed it to you with my mouth. Hehe. I love you. I just love you so much. You are the only one I need on this Earth."
Bianca keeps mumbling to herself while getting Hero to the room.
