Chapter 5 - The contact showed [My Sweet Devil] instead.

Inside Raina's house.

"Look, the sun is gone. Why are you still here?"

Raina leaned on her table and put her chin on her hand as she stared blankly at the bear boy across her. She had already compressed his injury with ice for more than 20 minutes and smeared some ointment on it, should be gone after a few days. After that, for compensation, her mom let him eat with them.

Haydar leaned on the sofa acted weakly. He looked at her with puppy eyes, "I'm so miserable now… How can you still chase me away? You're not fairy at all…"

Watching him as if he was a pampered boy, she showed him a disdain expression, "I'm not a fairy, but a devil instead!"

He laughed lightly and narrowed at her, "You're so evil that you even steal my heart…"

Raina held her forehead tirelessly for a moment then suddenly sat up straight, staring at him with a solemn face. Since she could talk to him right now, why don't she take advantage of it by asking him what was gotten on her mind since the morning?

Noticing this, Haydar thought his joke went too far so quickly sat up and said," I am--"

"Haydar, do we have some misunderstanding or something?"

When Haydar hear this, he swallowed the rest of his words. He looked at the girl in doubt and hesitantly asked her back, "… Do we?"

Raina twitched her eyes. So the whole day she was worried about nothing? Since the two of them didn't have some kind of misunderstanding, then…

"... The why are you keep acting like this when you're with me?" She felt uncomfortable with it.

Haydar stunned, became even more confused, "What act? Which one?"

Being fed up by his acts, Raina rolled her eyes and stood up, "Are you deliberately right now? You know it yourself!" She walked away searching for her mom.

Watching the girl walk away, he began to reflect on himself. Which acts she was talking about? How did he act every time he met her?? Oh…

Haydar chuckled lightly. It seems that she was talking about how he teased her every time he saw her. Well, he didn't want to tease her too often but seeing her reactions, he couldn't help it either…

Not long after, Raina walked back to the living room. But this time she was wearing a jacket. She walked in front of him and kicked his foot lightly, "Come on, I'll send you back."

Haydar grinned happily and walked out of the house with her.

After Raina ride the bike out of the garage and stopped beside him, before Haydar could sit behind her, he heard her say, "Wait. Turn around, sit backward."

"Okay-okay." Haydar wore his backpack on his cheat and sat backward helplessly.

The sun had long gone, the moon now was playing happily with the dark sky. The sound of the night birds accompanied them under the night lamps, slowly through the cold night winds.

Watching his surrounding was walking backward, Haydar was in dazed a moment before breaking the silence, "… You want to know why I like teasing you?"

"Hmm." Raina was a bit surprised at his words but still answered him.

"The answer is simple because I like… seeing your reactions, it keeps me entertained."

With the heart in his throat, Haydar changed his answer midway. If he blurts out a confession all of sudden at their current relationship, he was sure Raina would though he was just playing with her.

Raina who heard the answer snorted and clicked her tongue, "Hello? I'm not an entertainer and I don't want to entertain you at all cost."

"Look-look, such a reaction that I'm waiting!"

"I'm not waiting for it!"

Haydar laughed lightly and leaned back, making his back touch her small back.

Raina was dumbfounded, and was anxious they would fall because of him, "Hey-hey-hey! Stop leaning! You're heavy and it's hard to bike!"

"Oh, I feel weak. My arms aching even more. Why don't you blow it for me~"

Although he was saying that, he didn't lean on her anymore, afraid she would hurt if they fall.

Hearing his complaints, Raina bike faster but still answered sarcastically, "I told you before that I'm a devil, not a fairy! When you get home later, put bandages on it so it won't spread more, and drink a pain killer if you can't hold the pain anymore. And when you're sleeping be sure to place your arms position a bit higher."

Haydar smiled hearing it and said deliberately, "Oh, the devil still worried about me and know so much."

She thought of her big brother and answered proudly, forgetting to respond to the first part of his sentence, "Of course! I learned it from the big devil."

He almost forgot the reason he went to her house, and since he had the chance, he asked, "Speaking of your big devil, did I ever offend him before?"

"Although you never meet him, you're indeed offended him when we're young. You know, every time I cried, the cause was always you. So he was so angry that he wanted to find you and spank your ass back then."

In his heart, he felt relief. He thought it was something serious but now since he knew the real reason behind that security guy's nonsense, he felt at ease.

Recalling her childhood, she added more, "You're very naughty back then. I often watch you being spanked by your grandma." She laughed when she thought of it.

Haydar smiled helplessly, "My grandma looks small but her power is superb. Being spanked by her was hurt, more than being spanked by my dad. So, after this, I beg you to make me look like I'm very pitiful so she won't slap me going home late."

"Let's see."

After ten minutes of biking at slow speed, they arrived at Grandma Saniah's house. As soon as she entered her yard, she saw Grandma Saniah was sitting outside, seems to wait for her grandson.

After they both got off the bike, Raina greeted her first, "Good evening, grandma! I send back your pitiful son home."

Haydar chuckled helplessly. Oh, she intentionally said that.

Grandma Saniah was about to scold her bear grandson stuck her words. Shouldn't the normal way was a boy sending a girl home? What's this a girl sending a boy home? Only her bear grandson could do it.

She coughed lightly and asked, "Raina girl, why is this boy pitiful?"

Raina explained innocently, "My mom caught him picking at her beloved flowers and getting mad at him. So she slapped his arms for punishment."

Haydar: "…" Girl, your lie was too obvious. Do you actually want to lie or not?

Grandma Saniah knew that she had intentionally lie, so she didn't pursue it, "Ah, then that's good. Your mom should slap this bear boy more next time."

Haydar: "..." Grandma, Am I your biological grandson or not?

"Alright, I'll tell my mom your message!" Raina nodded she then pretended to look at the watch on her wrist, "It's late, my mom would be worried. I'll go home now, grandma."

As Grandma Saniah was about to nod, Haydar hurriedly asked, "Should I send you?"

Raina was speechless, "Then it's useless for me to send you just now."

"Alright, you can send me a message after you reach home. Let's exchange numbers?"

Raina thought it was a normal thing, and since they were classmates, she agreed to him.

Grandma Saniah observed his bear grandson suspiciously. Facing his sudden transfer, she knew his grandson never be so simple. Now she knew why he do that all of sudden.

Thinking how he loved asking his grandma to show his pics to Raina, she should have guessed already. However...

She shifted her gaze to the beautiful girl which had been deceived too deeply and was pretty dense.

Her bear grandson needed to use the best strategy to attract her, or he was just wasting his time.

Raina and Haydar didn't know what the old woman's beside them thinking, they were just too busy bickering, changing their contact names dozen times.

"Hey! is good! That's what I usually call you!" Raina raised her tone, not accepting the new nickname.

Haydar shook his index finger right in front of her face, "No-no-no. It's too ugly and doesn't fit my image. is good."

Raina looked up at him helplessly, "That's too cheesy! And the important thing is who are you claiming to be my guardian?"

Grandma Sainah opened her ears wide, wanting to see how her grandson respond.

Haydar stared at him a moment before changing the subject, suggesting something, "How about I change your contact as instead? What about you?"

Grandma Saniah snorted in her heart. Her grandson didn't even have a stable position in this girl's heart. Huh, he needed to work harder then.

"..." Raina glanced at him feeling that this guy seems to obsess with the word 'guardian' so she nodded, "I change it as . How's that?"

Haydar wasn't satisfied at all with the name, but he accepted it reluctantly, "Fine, for you I'm willing to accept such a nickname."

"For who? Oh my, this is just a contact name!" She rolled her eyes and walked away, "I'm going home! Goodbye, grandma!"

"Be careful on the way."

Both grandma and grandson watched until she was gone. After that Grandma Saniah slapped hardly the back of her grandson.

"Go inside and tell me what happened!

Ignoring the aches feeling on his back, Haydar nodded seriously, "Yes, grandma, yes."

He went inside hiding his dejected feeling, accepted his fate being beaten for the second time.

After his disciplining was done, Raina had just finished her bath. Walking toward her bed to sleep early, she recalled the promise after her eyes spotted her phone on the bedside table.

She sat motionlessly on the edge of the bed before moving her hands to chat with a certain someone.

On the other side, Haydar who was already laying on his stomach on the bed finally received her message.

[Devil Girl: I forgot. About to sleep.]

"So simple..." He mumbled as he replied.

[Bear Guardian: I'm your guardian, I'll keep on waiting. So don't forget me.]

[Devil Girl: Please, guardian. It's your mission to keep on waiting like a statue. Bye.]

After sending this, Raina lay inside her quilt on the bed and went to sleep without any burden.

Not long after she went on an adventure in her dream, her phone vibrated. The screen showed a pop-up message.

[Bear Guardian: I'll always do that even without being told. Good night.]

Haydar waited for almost fifteen minutes but didn't receive a reply. The girl might be sleeping already.

He opened their chat conversation and read it back and forth dozen times, couldn't help but feel happy.

He should have asked her number before he left with his dad before. If yes maybe their chat conversation won't be so short like this. Maybe that way, she also won't be as lonely as her grandma told him.

Such a sweet girl shouldn't have experienced too much pressure. It would be great if she could be lively as she was with him to others. Although he would be jealous, it was better than seeing her quiet and being all alone.

"Sweet girl..."

Haydar moved his hands to play with his phone. He tinkered with it and finally determined to change the nickname of the certain girl again.

He saved the contact and sighed relief, before going to check their conversion again. This time, the contact showed wasn't [Devil Girl] anymore, but [My Sweet Devil] instead.

Raina: "... I'm devil, I can't heal you that way. But I have another way to make you forget your pain for a while..."

Haydar: "How?"

Raina showed an evil smile: "..."
